  1. "You should see me right now. I'm in my backyard jumping around." Geronimo said. "I'm excited to be a Hoosier."

  2. In case anyone is wondering. Bruiser Flint was the lead recruiter for Geronimo

  3. Why ruin the good talk about Geronimo by bringing up Dakich?

  4. ‘19 TJD-Franklin-Brunk ’20 Galloway, Leal, Geronimo The direction of the the culture shift within the program is clear. Who isn’t excited about this?! HOOSIERS!

  5. Great get for CAM. Appears to be a kid who appreciates what it means to be a Hoosier and appears to be a kid who will put his nose to the grindstone, so to speak. We have brought 3 quality kids into the program. Love the direction we are headed. These are the kinds of kids who will build the program for the long haul. These are the kind of kids who will shut up the critics who have said, among other things, we should have hired Holtmann. These are the kind of kids who understand how important it is to fight to beat the Toiletmakers and restore the Hoosiers as one of the elite in the B1G

  6. Mile (and other 4-year purists)...I love ya, but there are plenty of four-year IU guys that won't have the program impact that Romeo already has. Consider me a Romeo fan for life...as if I weren't already...🤣

  7. With all due respect that doesn’t matter at all anymore. Name me one class in the last 15 years that all signed together as seniors in HS and graduated as seniors four years later... with transfers, leaving for the pros, redshirts, etc it’s literally a non factor.

  9. Thank you for posting this. Romeo opened the gates up again and is showing his loyalty and allegiance to IU for kids like this. His one year may not have given us the results we wanted but I'd say between TJD and a few others already....we can thank Romeo very much for helping out.

  10. This kid really has the 'feel' of an Oladipo. Carries a good vibe, enthusiastic with energy, explosive, athletic, serious student/smart kid, under-the-radar / game starting to surge with his athleticism, very high ceiling. Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing Geronimo take off at IU Edit -- btw, watch some of his clips, dunk off the backboard in traffic ... deep 3 ... rebound and put back in traffic ... open court steal leading to a breakaway and windmill dunk at the other end. Oh yeah.

  11. There you go -- a guy who gave us his all while he was here, and was drafted in the lottery after one season, immediately contributing and participating in recruiting for our, and his, IU. Hats off to Romeo!

  12. A 4 man class is cool. A 6 man class is not good for class balance.

  13. Geronimo wanted to go someplace where basketball was special. Romeo may have had a story or two to share with him regarding the passion of Hoosier fans.

  14. WELCOME TO IU GERONIMO!! Absolutely great commitment. Kid has the heart of a lion and the talent to play at the next level. He could be a truly special player. This is yet another example of why people need to not worry about rankings so much during a recruitment. There are always guys who are under the radar, this kid's vaulting into the top 80 reflects the scouts just hadn't seen him or enough to rank him.

  15. “I picked Indiana because of its deep and rich basketball history,” Geronimo said. “It all came together with the outstanding community of people.” https://n.rivals.com/news/jordan-geronimo-excited-to-join-indiana-recruiting-class

  16. Been wanting this one for a week or two. No clue what this means for others but I'll take a kid who says I want a hoops school. I think this is huge.

  17. The young man had offers from 3 Ivy League schools, so you know his academics are in order. Quality player. Quality student. You have to love it!

  18. BTW. I love Geronimo. He seems to get what being a Hoosier means. Thrilled he's a Hoosier. I just hope the 2020 class is 4 instead of 5 or 6.

  19. Romeo Langford will impact our program more off the court than on. IMO he was pretty special on the court. I am very glad that young man chose to play his 1 year for Indiana but make no.mistake he is a Hoosier for lifem

  20. Because that would mean Dakich would have actually planned to say something objectively positive about IU. And that's either the 4th or 5th sign of the apocalypse....right before the locusts, I think.

  21. 6'4, 6'5, and 6'6" so far for this class. That kind of length should help on the wings in the packline I would think. I echo what others have said, I would like to add a big to this class and then, barring landing a top flight prospect, sit on the scholarships for '21.

  24. Class size does not matter if you're UK or Duke. For IU to compete at a national level, class size and roster stability are critical. Upper-class leadership combined with talented youth will bring success.

  25. Well. Actually right now, CBS/247 has Indiana as the number 4 team in the country for 2020.

  26. I'll bet Don Fischer is almost as excited as I am about the prospect of hearing him yelling "GERONIMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" during a broadcast.

  27. Same. I love the Leal and Galloway commitments as well as the roster needed an infusion of skill, but it also needs an elite athlete as well. With not really knowing Hunter’s athleticism, there isn’t really an elite athlete wing on the team. Geronimo definitely fills that need. Really excited about this one.

  28. Talent is needed. Who cares when trying to restructure a few things. Class balance is a dated term hombre.

  29. Really excited about this commitment and thought we should've been talking about him more. I think he can be for Archie what OG and Victor were for Crean as I think Jordan has pro potential.

  30. You think kids won’t transfer on their own? Not being forced? It happens ALL the time now. Home sick, playing time, girl friend, I didn’t like the food at my school, omg people transfer for all kinds of things. Some graduate early and grad transfer my point is it happens quite often. if you have say 6-8 4 star recruits on your team sorry at least 1-2 find a way to go pro before senior year. I’d say it’s a rare day anymore that if you sign 4-5 guys they all are there in four years. 🤷🏻‍♂️ That’s not a good or bad thing it’s just basketball today. so I don’t consider that a big issue in any one particular class. 15-20 years ago? Absolutely

  32. I'm very excited about Jordan. I think he blows up even more this winter and his ranking rises. Not that that matters. He's got huge potential and upside.

  33. Agree. Just going off clips, interviews, length, athleticism, his personality, etc., but this kids seems to have that “it factor”.

  34. If you can get 6 quality guys you take them. I think Archie has learned that a bird in the hand if worth more than 2 in the bush. Now you don't reach for a project like a Jake Forrester but if you can get 5-6 quality guys like Galloway, Leal and Geronimo you take them. There's no guarantee we get any of the 2021 guys and I don't think we currently lead for any except Lander.
