  3. Well, as the latest in this Covid-19 world, we suddenly seem to have a new pet of sorts, this guy, though “wild,” just started appearing at our back snd front doors, asking for handouts. He actually wags his tail lol

  4. I appreciate the kind words and the support everyone! HSN truly is an amazing community. While scary, this will just be a blip in the road and I'm sure good things lie ahead.

  6. 1 Tablespoon for everything but salt, pepper, and spicy and sweet, adjust from there is my rule. But I'm no chef, that's just what has worked for me. @Drroogh that rule is for a full batch of chili, which for me fills up a 10 quart Dutch oven. If you make a smaller batch cut that down to 1/2 Tablespoon.

  7. I eyeball everything too with most recipes. I've noticed that, at least for me, my taste for things isn't the same every time. Especially when adding heat.

  10. Except for the fact that Watson did an interview that can be found online from when he was doing the draft process and he said he met with the Bears so he either lied then or now. Not that it really matters that much.

  13. As I drive around Indianapolis I have seen 20-30 deep porch parties going on. Last weekend when the weather was amazing, pontoons on Morse packed to the limit, waterfront decks full of partiers. It was every bit as busy as 4th of July. I counted 17 watercraft in my line of sight.

  16. You know the Russian joke/proverb on this right? The husband is the head of the family. But the wife is the neck. I love that proverb - yeah you can be the head, but you go wherever I tell you too

  17. I know all things are not the same for everybody and that cities like NY are at the greatest risk, but it seems the risk of opening up Georgia before anybody else didn't turn out to be the health disaster that was predicted! https://www.foxnews.com/politics/georgia-reports-lowest-number-covid-patients-in-a-month I can tell you personally, that for the most part people here in Georgia are practicing health safety. And the economy is slowly opening up!

  20. Had a similar experience at IU late 80s, at the Classic Cup (coffee shop back in the day), this guy starts talking to me about bands and my roommate just stands there with his mouth open. I look at him like what? Back to talking to the dude. He walks out and I turn to my roommate and he says dude, that was Michael Stipe! lol, REM was in town. Stipe was cool

  21. I think you'll be just fine given the date for that one. On the other hand some of us Bears fans are moving up a little in our seats this morning. Both Pritzker and Lightfoot have suggested in last 24 hours more doubt than anything about fans at Bears games this year. Of course they didn't say it wouldn't happen but they didn't make any assurances it would. If I were the Bears and NFL....I'd be asking Notre Dame right now if we could use your stadium this fall. 20k extra seats to sell....and the extra $/gate could go towards some sort of relief fund for Chicago. I really hope they don't try to get in the way of things this fall but given their statements and zero guidance plans....anything is possible.

  22. Good Lord, I hope not. I live in Florida, and their games are almost unwatchable due to that.

  23. Just for you. And the rest of HSN 3.0. Just ran across this. As I am doing steak tonight. Trying to figure out a different way. Not whiskey barrel. But looks good to me. Can't wait to try it. Steak with Blue Cheese Butter & Grilled Onions | SAM THE COOKING GUY By the way. Sam is hilarious. But does curse a lot.

  24. Never used chemicals for fear of harming new plants. Used some landscape fabric once at my parents house. If you go that route, spend the $ for the premium stuff. It will buy you more time before it desintigrates. Rock paths look nice and work best, IMO, if you don't have kids or pets that end up getting the rocks everywhere. Don't want to get hit by one flying out from a mower.

  25. I have a German Shepherd. Reading through some of these posts, thought I'd share a little bit about my last one- Blitz. He had cancer at age 8 or so. Went the chemo route and probably bought him an extra 6 months. As he still suffered, probably wouldn't do that again. It was $$$ and more a benefit to the humans than the dog. We took him on a long weekend trip up the coast of MI to Traverse city and back stopping at all the dog friendly beaches so he could splash in Lake MI and staying at a dog friendly hotels. Provided some nice last memories of our loyal companion. He was cremated and his ashes spread out in the woods at our summer cottage in MI where he loved to run about off leash and play in the water. Our current GS was adoted a few months after his passing.

  27. My prayers for you and Scott and everybody else! After working a month remote, our plant opened back up with safety measures. We worked short staffed two weeks, unfortunately we manufacture commercial refrigeration and ice equipment for our biggest customer base the resteraunt industry! Needless to say our sales are not what they should be and will not be for probably years! Friday, all of Manufacturing was put on furlough! I'm one of the lucky few that gets to work next week because I've got a multi million dollar tooling project I've got to keep going, after that it's unemployment. I've got the feeling as well as my boss talking with him, that we will be on a cycle of producing product for a few weeks and shutting down for a few weeks for the foreseeable future!
