  1. This kid is smart and a worker. Really like a number of his comments. A couple of them stood out to me -- Geronimo: The hardest challenge has been maintaining a consistent schedule. I feel like having a schedule in life for anything is really important. For me personally, once I get accustomed to a schedule, the first couple weeks of doing it, I start to get comfortable. But I have to find ways to keep pushing myself, knowing that I have to get better every day. I can’t relax, because if I relax that means that someone else is working and they are getting better than me, and I can’t have anyone better than me. Geronimo: I’ve been watching OG Anunoby because I get a lot of comparisons to him. I watch Romeo Langford. People like that, people that went to IU and made it big. -- OG is the perfect player for him to watch.

  3. Evidence for ending the lockdowns- Quote from the JPMorgan report- “In the absence of conclusive data, these lockdowns were justified initially.” But “millions of lives were being destroyed .. with little consideration that [lockdowns] might not only cause economic devastation but potentially more deaths than COVID-19 itself.”

  5. If I were guessing.. this is the batting order and position DH- Ashley CF- Richardson LF- Dunham 3B- Barr 1B- Fougerousse (guessing Fucci moves on) C- Southern/Hopkins SS- Macciochi (guessing he beats out Houston) 2B- Trinkle (better defensively than Ashley) RF- Jesse/Vercrumba/Colopy basically.. can Fougerousse play 1B? Out of Trinkle and Ashley who looks the best? and can one of Jesse, Vecrumba, Colopy beat out Trinkle/Ashley for the DH spot. Pitching wise I think the rotation is set Bierman, Sommer, and Tucker. Mid week Behrmann/Platt/Brown/Stahl/Sirounis... something like that. Manous and Scott getting the lion share of the work out of the pen. I think they'll throw a lot of innings. Whichever 4 doesn't start the mid week games plus Litwicki in the pen. We are a top 25 team going into the 21 season. One website had us top 10.

  6. Two big names we have committed here... Colson Montgomery and Luke Hayden are both top 100 players in the country. In this class we also have top 150 overall OF TJ White who is #5 in SC. P Ben Hess the #5 ranked player in IL and Josh Pyne who is the 8th ranked player in the state and Carter Mathison who is 10th. This is a good class. 11 total commitments in this class.

  7. I've been banned from most public golf courses. Something about slow play. With a triple digit handicap, what do they expect.

  11. Woo-Hooo..... Let's give it up for Indiana's Governor, Eric Holcomb! He has sped up Phase 3 by 2 days for the Memorial Day week-end. Malls, Gyms, and other retail outlets, as well as pools and campgrounds can re-open tomorrow, Friday (or Friyay!!!). Man it's great to be a Hoosier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😁

  12. I live on a golf course and it was busier during the lockdown then before it officially opened! Joggers, skateboarders, dog walkers, bikers were all using the cart path all while people were enjoying their free golf. I'll confess to going out and golfing a 4 hole circuit behind my house on the warmer days after dinner.

  13. I like to follow college baseball and glad this section is up...especially during season. Have a few friends that played D1 baseball in the Midwest and each of them from different states (Iowa, Illinois) say how highly regarded Jeff Mercer is as a coach. As someone who used to watch IU play baseball across the street from Briscoe and McNutt.....the transformation of IU baseball and our facilities is simply unreal.

  14. I alternate between Enders Game and the Moon is a Harsh mistress as my favorite fiction book. Favorite non fiction is probably Six Frigates by Ian Toll. It follows the formation of the US Navy up through 1815. Stephen Decatur you might have heard of a place or two named after him. Was pretty much the first American action hero.

  17. Not only granulated sugar, but anything that ends with the suffix -ose is a sugar, dextrose, fructose, ect.. And additives such as maltodextrin, which is corn syrup solids used as a sweetener and binder. Sugar or some derivative is in almost everthing.

  19. This is very NYC right now. If the language isn't appropriate, I apologize in advance, but thought it might provide some comedic relief.

  20. All of my quarantine DIY projects are completed or as close as can be. I really came out of my comfort zone. I was able to remodel the bathroom, did 3 rooms of laminate flooring, did our living room wall with shiplap galvanized tin and antique barnwood, an arbor swing from old doors and changed the pool liner. Picked up some better and much need tools. I wont go as far as saying it was fun but I do feel somewhat accomplished in an area of weakness. Our bathroom mirror my wife ordered finally came in so I installed it and the shelves I made. A couple pics.

  21. Picture of Ayden celebrating his last day of Elementary school. For those of you that have been around here long enough know that at 2 or 3 years old doctors were telling us that if Ayden survived he would not be able to function at a level to attend school. By GODS grace not only was he able to attend school but was on honor roll every semester plays baseball and was a lead in school play. Very proud of this amazing boy, I give praise to our lord savior and a big thank you to all of HSN for your support and prayers.

  22. Yay for Mike Roberts! "He came and watched me do a workout. He came in and gave me some pointers. He emphasized rebounds and told me that I was leaning to much on my shot and needed to be more straight up and down."

  23. You know the Russian joke/proverb on this right? The husband is the head of the family. But the wife is the neck. I love that proverb - yeah you can be the head, but you go wherever I tell you too
