  1. Taking another opportunity to honor my HERO. today Ayden received his diploma from his principal, asst principal and all the 6th grade teachers. They are going to personally deliver them to every student that would have graduated. For many this might not be a big deal but knowing what Ayden has overcome and to see him now I truly give all the glory to GOD and my amazing wife and all of the sacrifices she has made to make this day a reality

  4. I'm always most excited about tomatoes on our terrace, but this is the second year for a peony bush that I had planted for last year. Last year, it had three blooms. This year, we have 17 flowers and my wife has been over the moon. It's her favorite flower and they are kind of tricky to grow sometimes. Everyone told me that they don't do well in containers, but on our terrace, containers are my only option. Huge success for this year! If we had the room, I would plant a dozen of them.

  5. I absolutely do not get the refusal to wear a mask thing. Such a simple thing to follow that reflects concern for your fellow man.

  6. People need to understand that nothing has really changed. We don't have a vaccine, the virus has not gone away. I also am for phasing back to work etc. -- but what is "normal" now? People running around without masks are just stupid. It's cavalier, and just plain dumb. I absolutely want us all working and going to school again, this drawn-out situation has been devastating on so many levels. But the returns to work, to schools, etc. must be done safely, and the virus is still here. I don't know why some push back on that. I hope most will get it, and take precautions so that everyone can get on with life.

  7. A couple of weeks ago Ford took their pants off on F150 rebates. I jumped on it. Luckily I bought it when I did, cause that deal is long gone. As it turns out, even though car sales are down 50%+, the F150 sales are only off about 1%. Ford says they may have a shortage of them before they can get production back up and dealers restocked. Nothing fancy...just a 2020 F150 Eco-boost. Added a spray in bed-liner, window tint, windshield tint, mud flaps and bug deflector after picture was taken.

  8. I have around 550 HP and 490 pound foot torque with a 6.2 liter naturally aspirated V8, in a 2-door coupe. It blows 911’s off the road, the Camaros, Chargers etc left wondering what happened lol. Ten second quarter mile, about 3.3 0-60. And the sound of an AMG raw naturally aspirated exhaust note... just a thing of beauty.

  10. My wife loves hiking. Her goal is to hike the Appalachian Trail. Because of work she has to do it in sections. So far she has hiked from the starting point in Georgia to Fontana Dam, North Carolina. Hopefully this fall she can resume her quest. Her first time on the trail she hiked with her cousin and last February she went by herself. I have attached a couple pictures of her all geared up.

  14. Growing up in Gary, Indiana. I always loved going fishing for perch with my dad in and along Lake Michigan. Loved going to the pier at Michigan City. Always caught perch. But my favorite memory is from when my dad rented a boat off of Miller Beach in the Miller section of Gary. Lake Michigan. We stopped first to get a full bucket of minnows for bait. Never far from shore, we landed in a huge school of perch. Catch one. Put another minnow on. The bucket we had for the perch became full, so we just put the perch in the boat. Ran out of minnows in short time. My dad started putting gum on his and my hook. Perch kept biting. Ran out of gum. So my dad took buttons off of his shirt. Perch hit on them as well. Boat bottom filled up with perch. Dad, said... I think we have caught enough for today. Landed the boat on the beach. Guy who ran the boat place came out for his boat. Took one look in the boat. And said...."How do you plan on getting all those fish home ? " Now... my dad was one who saw a car as nothing more than something to get from one place to another. And told the guy. Pull the boat up to my car. And " I will put them in the trunk of the car." Which we did. Car trunk had a deep lip. And we filled the trunk with Perch. Got home. Dad parked the car in the alley behind our house. Called every relative and family friend, and neighbor. Saying...." Come and get all the fresh Perch you want." And they did !

  15. I’ve been camping my whole life. I never really got into hunting and I’ve only really fished when I was in the boundary waters and the alternative to eating fresh fish was freeze dried meals. Now I climb mountains. This is my favorite “feet on the beach” pic (taking a break on my way up Torreys peak).

  16. Lost. If you are a coffee drinker ( which I am no longer).... instead of going to a garden center for Peony specific fertilizer.... I have found that used coffee grounds work well. And many Starbucks ( but not all ) package their used coffee grounds for gardeners, package them and give them out for free. I use them all season in my veggie garden as well. 17. I remember being at game 4 of that series at Market Square and that was one of the loudest I have heard an arena. Pacers won that game to force a deciding game 5 of the first round. We lost game 5 but to me it was taken away from us due to some questionable calls.

  24. I've looked at a bunch of them, and to me they all have significant drawbacks. I haul a lot of stuff, hence the need for the Line-X bed liner, but I doubt if I get a Tonneau cover. About once a month I go over to Columbia, SC and get 1000# of dog food for the local animal shelter, sometimes 2500#. I often have to put a pallet of food in the truck and one on my small trailer. I also load up a bunch of trash to take to local dump once a week. A Tonneau cover would just get in the way I think.

  27. Not sure if its been posted, but Zwanzigzs in Columbus has had their growlers have price for a while now. They have excellent beer and amazing pizza. My favorite beer is their Honey Wheat, like a less fruity Shocktop or Blue Moon, very good. Others- Peanut Butter (2nd fav), Blueberry, Chocolate, Gose(called Endless Summer gfs favorite), a Scotch Ale that my mom loves. They have 15 other beers, as well. I usually go and buy one for me and my gf and after tip its $14. 14 bucks for 8 pints of craft beer, you just can't beat that. http://www.zwanzigz.com/our-brewery/ On a day last month I was there buying a growler and a guy from Noblesville was buy 9 growlers lol

  28. I know why Russian trolls want to divide us, I just have a hard time with US citizens seeking to divide us. I also don't see it as either opening/not opening. Opening is happening. I just would like it to be measured, safe, and in accordance with the local/regional situations. As someone who works in leadership at a fairly large university School of Medicine, I definitely fall on the side of caution. I can't help it. But I also understand that people want to get back to work and I believe that they should be able to do if they can do so safely. Even here in NYC, we are cautiously reopening things. I'll also offer two anecdotes from our MDW. Yesterday, we had to go pick up a box of produce in Manhattan. I drove us in, instead of taking the sub. We wore our masks when we got out of the car, of course. We must have passed within 6 feet of over 350-400 people during our walk and the sidewalks are not very wide in Lower Manhattan. Our of the 350-400, probably 15-20% of them were not wearing any type of mask or bandana. Totally oblivious and I worry about that type of cavalier attitude. We also live close to Prospect Park and during an early morning run yesterday, noticed that every single trash can was overflowing from parties in the park over the weekend. Have never seen so much trash in the park, even after the 4th of July. Maybe everyone was celebrating AND social distancing? I don't know, I wasn't there. Was drinking on my terrace! We are wildly optimistic inside as we watch the numbers of deaths and new infections going down here and most other places. But I do worry that people are going to get overconfident and careless, since the news is getting better.

  32. I have. Usually wrap meat side down with apple juice, vinegar, brown sugar and butter. I mentioned above that I’ve come around back to just 5-6 hours on grill because I like a little bite on them rather than completely falling off the bone. Also, something that I learned last year is that 3.2.1 isn’t for all ribs. Spare ribs are 3.2.1 and baby backs are 2.2.1. If anybody is interested, there’s a Facebook group that I’d recommend joining called BBQ Pitmasters Secrets. A lot of cool techniques and tips are shared by posters who range from casual smokers to chefs and restaurant owners. They’ll get into endless arguments about stuff like putting the fat side up or down on pork butts, but a good follow none the less. edit: @mrflynn03 the 1 in 3.2.1. isn’t for rest, it’s for saucing. You put back on the grill at low temp with sauce. Even if you don’t want sauce, you’ll need to dry them out a bit after the wrap.
