  1. I'd be curious to see how officials might call games if there were no fans in attendance due to coronavirus concerns. Would the home court advantage be neutalized to some extent? 😁

  3. I've always had the feeling that this is one we could be on the right side of a shock decision for. Probably wrong but really hope there's substance to my feeling because having him at the stretch 4 would be ideal for me because I think we need to reload our frontcourt after Trayce leaves and he, along with Kaufman, could help day 1.

  5. I was in retail management for one of the nation's largest building material suppliers. Last 40 years until I became to old and too high paid. My position was eliminated in December 2015. I was going to retire in January 2016 but never told a soul. When I was given the news I was all smiles because I knew I would get a nice severance package. After signing the severance agreement I was asked why I was smiling and I simply said that if you waited three weeks you wouldn't of had to pay me a thing as I was going to retire. They were shocked. So I walked out with 32 weeks of pay and benefits, then went on social security and after my severance was up I used up my 20 weeks of unemployment. And for the record I haven't looked back one bit. I worked long hours, nights, holidays and weekends plus I had to deal with the general public which at the end of my career had become a royal pain in the rear end!

  8. Can I put in an order? Cantigny, out in Wheaton, has a neat military museum in addition to their gardens and golf course. A couple hours is enough to see most stuff there. Was formerly the estate of the McCormicks. https://cantigny.org/plan-your-visit/museums/first-division-museum/

  9. We are replicating part of what exists. Not putting shake back on, I kinda hate shake shingles. We are putting Hardie board on, easier to install, looks nice and lasts longer.

  10. Here are number of NC by conference since 2000: ACC - 8 PAC12 - 0 SEC - 3 B1G - 1 Big East - 6 AAC - 1 Big 12 - 1 I am going to out on a limb here and say that the top recruits are going to either the ACC, Big East and SEC Nation Titles, TV time, Schools who are considred current blue blood programs, and style of play are what i consider the biggest reason why the B1G isn't getting recruits. And this horse has bean beat to death but you also have to look at whether the schools are UA, Nike, or Adidas and see if that plays at all into recruiting.

  11. We had a dog who passed a little over a year. Always preferred my wife. We joked that I was the dog’s bitch because he always cuddled my wife instead of me, but I was the one who cleaned up his crap and fed him. Last year around this time my wife and kids wanted another pet. I was against it because we are gone on so many weekends and I work at home so I’m usually the one taking care of it. I joked and said a cat (even though I’ve never been a ‘cat person’) would be perfect because they are more self reliant, but we couldn’t get a cat because I was allergic. So my wife goes out and finds a Siberian cat breed that is good for people with allergies. 😒 I was skeptical, but the breeder said we could return her in 2 weeks if I reacted to her. Reluctantly I said I’d try it out but I would not be the one cleaning up after her and feeding her. We get her, rub her in my face and no reactions for 2 weeks...so we keep her. A year later, guess who her favorite person is? Me. The only person who’s lap she climbs on to. Meanwhile she ignores my wife’s affection and only wants her when it’s time to eat. Haha. In the rare instance she shows my wife any affection it’s a household ‘event’ that requires getting cameras out for proof she might love my wife. Great cat though; she’s super social, a ton of personality, plays with anybody and just lets the kids manhandle her. A bunch of traits I thought I wouldn’t be getting with a cat.

  13. Man, just reading about the potential of the 2021 class, my enthusiasm for IU basketball is really ramping up. Looking forward to seeing Turdue get their *sses kicked on a regular basis. Enjoy talking about your recent run of luck against IU for a few more months, Toiletmaker fans...and then get ready to assume your rightful position in Indiana basketball for awhile.

  14. I guess I just wanted to torture.myself tonight so I watched the 92 final four game against Duke. I just wanted to see if my recollection about the refs were accurate or was I just bias. During most of the first half it appeared I might have just let my bias cloud my memory. The first 13 minutes Duke had 10 fouls to our 4 and we were up 12. We really lost the game the last 5 minutes of the half being outscored 12-5. Watching the second half made me remember how bad the refs were especially TV Teddy. The second half we were called for 22 fouls to their 8. For the game they shot 20 more free throws than we did. Thought we would win the game when we held Laettner to probably his worst game of his career.

  18. Race gaining confidence and consistency in the pick and pop 3 from the top of the offense would be a game changer for IU. Even at just 35% and being a threat so his defender can't just sit in the middle of the paint would be a game changer for the offense.

  19. Our rescue dog Greta has been with us for about a year and a half. She was found in a rail yard in the Bronx and was riddled with health problems - including a large mammary tumor. She's blind in one eye, deaf, was bald on her ears and tail, AND had to have 19 teeth removed. The tumor was malignant, so we've been doing chemo off and on for the last year or so to try to keep the tumors from spreading to her lungs. Last Friday, we found out she has two masses in her lungs. She had been a bit slower and her breathing was kind of labored, so we got some more scans and received the lung tumor news. Our oncologist says she could live another six months if all goes well and we are doing everything in our power to make sure that the months she has are good ones. It's funny, when we first got her I thought to myself, "Man, this dog is a total wreck. How on earth am I going to love her and cuddle with her like I do with our other dog?" Funny thing, Greta became my little shadow and followed me around everywhere. Like sitting outside the bathroom door whining if I didn't let her in everywhere. We are sure she was abandoned by her owners b/c of her significant health problems, but she definitely knows love and needs to be near her owner. She's at my feet as I type these words. I'm really going to miss her when she's gone, but we are making the most of the days we have with her. Our motto everyday is "living her best day." It's crazy how attached we can get in such a short time. Another funny thing is that my wife always sees us snuggled up together and she says, "Aww, it's the dog that Daddy didn't want..."

Will go again whenever the opportunity presents itself. Tried to go in AZ once but the water levels were not high enough. https://www.rafting.com/wyoming/jackson-hole/

  28. Herbs. Oh yes. To the East of my veggie garden. And next to my compost bins. I have a fairly large wood table. On which I put herbs in pots. It's great. As during the morning. They get shade. Sun for the hottest part of the day. And then shade again. Late in the day. I think I have heard them say thank you to me for where they are. LOL Seriously. It is wonderful to go out there in the evening, while I or Mrs. mile are preparing dinner. Get the fresh herbs we need for the dinner we are preparing that night. And not having to go to the store for them. Oh. And nothing beats the taste of a home grown tomato.

  29. Can't put a price on the joy. Mrs. mile and I get out of gardening. By the way, we planted Colorado wild flowers, like three years back in one section of our three flower gardens. They are blooming now. And are beautiful. They bloom the entire season. And perhaps the best thing. Is they reseed themselves for the next season. And always are different every year. Borrowing from Forrest Gump.... plant some Colorado wild flowers, and you never know what you'll get.

  30. As reported on CNN. Just thought I would share some positive news related to the virus. New York state reported its lowest daily coronavirus death toll so far, with 49 deaths reported yesterday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said. That's down from 58 deaths on Monday and 54 on Tuesday, the governor said. Hospitalizations are also at an all-time low. Cuomo warned that although many headlines are focusing on the nationwide protests over George Floyd's death at the hands of police, coronavirus remains a threat. "It is still in people and in society. We're still battling that," he said of the virus.
