  1. Everything I hear on the North Side....and trust me I rarely get any IU information....says he'll pop when offered.

  2. If you want some 4×4, I have about 6 that I dont need. If we could find find a meeting place north of Seymour on hwy 11 I will give them to you. I don't need them.

  3. At no point in human history has anyone been prepared for a pandemic, we cannot and never have been able to to control nature. Take the proper precautions and let it ride. Nothing we can do will stop it so let it ride. We cant experience another great depression because 1% of the US population might die.

  4. Oh yeah...sorry! I forgot about that. Let's maybe not use Skiles in this discussion. My error. I was thinking about the toughness aspect of both players as a point of comparison.

  5. Who did end up at IU even if it wasn't as quick of a commitment as anticipated by some.

  6. This kid is going to be a good one! I think he has a higher upside than Smith because of his athletic ability. Would take both though.

  7. Whenever I transfer a firearm for a new shooter, I spend about 15-20 minutes going over basic gun safety and basic education for their new firearm. I've also had range sessions for a couple of new owners this year. I see the 15-20 minute session during the transfer as the bare minimum before allowing a new owner to leave with their firearm. I encourage additional training, but that's on the owner. Thankfully, most new owners see the value in spending time learning the gun before walking out with it.

  8. I got an email from Ticketmaster today informing me that the Pacers / Warriors game I had tickets for on March 18th has been cancelled and that they would be refunding me within the next 30 days. It's heartwarming to know that, three months afterwards, they realized they've had my money all this time and they will only hold it for one more month. What a noble thing to do.

  9. So we have had several positive tests in the last couple of weeks at our two plants! One today came in without any symptoms, and without a temperature, but because they had been in proximity of a positive they were tested! Completely asymptomatic they tested positive! Still in spite of the wild fluctuations of the cases curve the deaths curve continues a steady trend down!! I’m beginning to think only God knows!

  10. Maybe a little Scott Skiles as well...but more likeable. 😁 Skiles listed in high school at 6'1" and 180 lbs.

  11. He musta meant Hoyt Wilhelm...I thought of him, but by the time they started counting saves, he was at the end of his career...so I don't think he's the other one...

  12. If I were guessing on undersized guards in this day and age? I'd say 130-150 range. Tops. Doesn't matter to me. Kid has that basketball skill every coach and team needs and wants. Make the offer, get the verbal and wink at the cage/league for 4 years while winning 25+...same for Gibbs but I think he'll be higher ranked when we get around to 23. Probably 50 range.

  13. A Tx atty who manages healthcare facilities had this to say (You may have to go to his twitter and click on the individual-links to see better) Basically, he says 1/2 the visits to the ER are people sent by employers to get a test, most positive cases are very mild, low fatalities and hospital beds are being filled by the people who put off care for the last couple months. He calls it a "positive story". Maybe there is something positive happening in TX? The few comments I read seem to back up his claim. Interestingly, the tweeter is an author and I think I have read a book or two of his.

  16. That would be the Bruce Weber model. Archie doesn't strike me as someone who will not have plan B, C, and D in place with similar ranked recruits.

  17. I agree with most of that the only downside is when you lose a top 50ish guy because you took the top 10 guy that never stepped foot on campus. In principle I agree with your assessment

  22. I guess gun handling and safety comes naturally to me since I have had experience with guns and hunting starting at the age of 5 and spent my childhood involved in scouting and hunting. Learned Coopers 4 rules from an age.

  23. 2 takeaways from that experience, #1 dont trust your neighbors, #2 I'm ready to drop the hammer. Thank the lord myself and that officer were able to keep the booger hook off the bang switch. I feel people are starting to wise up and realize that nobody is coming to save them. We are responsible for ourselves.

  26. Freaking crazy. I have a federal firearms license that I got mostly for my personal collecting habit, but in the past 30 days, I've transferred about 70 guns...never seen anything like it. My "shop" is not advertised, save a very basic website that has a phone number but no street address, so I really don't go out of my way to do business since it's just a sideline apart from my day job. Several first-time owners in that mix too...all demographics. I've got ideas what's driving a dramatic upswing in gun and ammo purchasing, but I'm not going to diverge from the topic. I personally ankle-carry a Ruger LC9s with two extra mags, but I have several favorites if anyone is shopping and wants advice.

  27. If you carry outside the house read up on force escalation. The last thing I want to do is pull and use it. I would rather walk away or give a good ole country ass beating than use my sidearm. Also practice OPSEC. Do not let your neighbors know that you own or what you own. Have a story from last October if anyone wants to hear it. Im still here so it ended well but could it could have went sideways.

  29. Well, whether he does or he doesn't, I'm in the same camp as @Seeking6... I want the B10 to be a destination conference for the top ranked kids. I'm sure if it's perceived that way, IU will get their fair share...

  32. Why bring Nojel into a conversation that has zero to do with him? The guy isn’t the most intelligent guy ever but he’s also not an idiot. Nojel’s downfall wasn’t because of lack of intelligence. His downfall was letting his mom run the show. Lack of maturity no question but he’s not dumb. Seems like a beating a dead horse situation at this point.

  34. Well I found 5 - 4”x6”’s and enough other pieces to at least get a corner started. Per my usual method I started digging the holes by hand. Since I’m totally NOT “Bought into” this project I quickly became bored and day dreamed of happily going to the liquor store. Just then it hit me. A neighbor told me some months ago, he’s got a one man powered auger. In the UTV I lept and off I went. 43 cc’s of redneck amazement soon began and what would have been 2 hours, was complete in 7 minutes. Why am I the last to learn these new tricks? I’ve since ordered one, 110cc’s!!! ( I may find oil) and turned on 4 new projects that I wanted, but didn’t want to dig the holes for. Now kill this plague and sell me some freakin lumber already!

  36. Yeah, that's the one I bought...I had Amazon gift cards from Father's Day so I got a cleaning kit, and the flashlight/laser. Still haven't made up my mind on the safe, and I'm also looking at holsters. My two oldest girls live in Illinois, one across the river from St Louis and the other in Chicagoland. They both have Illinois FOIDs and concealed carry permits, have pistols, and carry almost everywhere they go. When I told them I'd bought a firearm, they both had the same response..."about friggin time!" Here's a shot from my middle daughters gun range...they were indoctrinating their little sister (right)...

  37. With this news, 2 million new gun owners in first half of 2020 I thought this thread relevant... I had guns as a teen and young adult (CVA 50 cal mountain rifle, Remington single shot .410) but never a handgun. Had to qualify every year in the military (.45 and M-16) but with kids in the house, I wouldn't have one... Went out yesterday and bought a Glock 48 9mm. Scheduled a gun course for me and my wife (she has shot one before but it's been 35 years), and an LTC class after that. Looking for a biometric safe now...

  42. The right of people to keep and bear arms. I have not any problem with the 2nd Amendment. Having said that. After getting out of the Army, during the Viet Nam war. I pledged. NEVER to touch another weapon the rest of my life. And have lived up to my pledge. Again. I have no problem with those that chose to do so, for peaceful purposes. Over and out.
