  1. HSN, First, thank you. The vast majority of you have handled this difficult and divisive topic respectfully. The mods have come to a few conclusions. Deviating from our norm, we feel it is important to publicly inform the community. We made a difficult decision to ban RTZ, who we all know has been a long time member. Regardless, we want to convey to all of you that we are serious about our rules and culture. We also want everybody to know we value each of you. When anybody so blatantly breaks the rules and gets that personal, we have to act decisively. This protects our culture as well as showing our members we will not tolerate personal attacks against any of you. Regardless of who it is from. We are going to reopen this thread. It does serve a purpose. Just be respectful of the rules and each other. Debate and discuss, as most of you have. Obviously this will be monitored very closely. Again, thank you all. We do not take the community or individual for granted. Carry on.

  2. Kumbaya moment: there are some on this thread that I disagree with often...sometimes may even get frustrated with at times (haha). In particular this thread's frequent posters: @mrflynn03, @Reacher, @IUFLA, @5fouls (sorry if I left anybody else out...and not trying to group you all together as representing one particular belief, you are all individuals with individual perspectives). Just wanted to let you all know I appreciate you all as posters, people, and enjoy chatting with you on many topics despite our different beliefs on this topic. I'm glad mods are keeping this thread open because I do think it's a healthy practice to cordially disagree with each other. Especially in these times. I saw a great quote last week that i'm trying to be cognisant of in 'real life' conversations and internet conversations that I struggle with but am doing my best to adhere to: "It's not about being right, It's about getting it right". I just think this needs to be remembered when approaching controversial topics. It needs to be less about proving each other wrong and more about understanding and respecting each other's perspective. Like I said, i'm definitely not a poster boy for this, just trying to work on it. Thank you mods, sorry for any part I played in that fiasco.

  3. I am closing this for now. Some of you long time posters are blatantly making a mockery of this forum and the rules. May as well flip the middle finger to all the mods who have tried to let the community act civilly. I have no time right now to edit and clean. And damn those of you who even make it necessary. The lack or respect frankly just pisses me off.

  4. I think shutting it down would be a disservice to those that have participated and kept politics out of it. We learn a lot from sharing each others experiences on how to cope with the situation,

  6. This is probably a good time to post this about how incredibly difficult moderating online communities has been this year in light of COVID and related fallout. https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2020/08/25/volunteer-moderators-2020/ Much love to the mods here, b/c you guys have created one of my favorite (and most pleasant) places on the internet.

  7. With over 110k views, this has been a very important thread. Don't mind saying I was discouraged when it got locked. But understood why. Sad that we have lost a long time member. Maybe there will be a get out of jail card for him in the future. And I am very pleased that it got unlocked. Thank you Thank you.Thank you. Tough job being moderator. You guys are the best !

  9. Took a walk to a new Mexican place for lunch and stopped at a small gourmet shop on the way home. I literally almost fell to the floor in shock and amazement - they had a full selection of 3 Floyds beer in their fridge! 🤯 Picked up some Alpha King and Zombie Dust. Never thought I would see the day when 3 Floyds arrived here. This is better than Bells arriving about three years ago. I know there must be some 3 Floyds peeps on this thread.

  12. This subject is and always has been highly political. It is a toxic subject for many. The board struggles with the topic. Just my opinion, obviously, but it wouldn't bother me if this thread was shutdown.

  13. Funny, you are the one who complains it's all political, yet, make it political with these posts. AND yes....it's SO political and It's 'going to go away' after the election. Keep telling yourselves that. Do you guys take some time to think about the BS coming out of you mouths? Yes, it was a hoax that the WHOLE world was in on. All these other countries wanted to destroy their economies just to get Trump out of office.

  14. I agree with everything you're saying but the mods don't want that on the board.

  20. As HH said, there's a clear difference between a player flopping and a coach purposely interfering with a play, especially a play with 50 seconds left in a tied game. On the flopping, I can't disagree with you on Smart. Even as a Celtics fan, I know and understand Smart flops. With that said, the flopping and flailing that Kyle Lowery does out there makes Smart blush. Lowery could teach LeBron a class on flopping, its ridiculous.

  21. I thought they were the better team in yesterdays game, that was all I said. I didn't say they are the better team in every game the two teams have played. I didn't make a comment about who has been better in the series or who I think will win Game 7. On those issues, though, I think the Celtics have been the better team overall in the series, but I actually like the Raptors in Game 7.

  22. This time arounf gives me more hope since they are actually doing a real coaching search. They aren't just hiring someone because it's convenient.

  24. Patience, my friend. hopefully you can save 5 or 10% on your next couple annual renewals. It will take a couple years for foreclosures to work through the system and start lowering values. Of course there will distressed seller along the way... You can always start making some low ball offers to see who is desperate.

  28. Seriously? NYC and NJ got slammed by this when the rest of the US still thought it was "a hoax." Yet, we did what was needed to reverse it and are down to single digit deaths daily. Yesterday, FL had 202 deaths and Texas had 126. This is AFTER months of living with this and we have learned more about the virus. Would have been interesting if COVID arrived in FL first instead of NYC - that would give a new meaning to competent leadership (or lack of).

  30. Since none of the usual players got it and its obscure no one should know know this. Its amazing that Tyrod Taylor in 2015. Brady has gone almost 80 starts between being an underdog. Don't like him or Pat's but that is impressive

  31. I'm not denying that some bad decisions were made, but NY and NJ by no choice of their own took a kick in the balls from the rest of the country because they were the guinea pigs that the rest of the states learned from. The virus was already spreading before any restrictions were put in place, which caused it to get out of control. All this, when they had very little idea of what they dealing with, who to keep safe and how to keep them safe, and how to effectively treat it. Just thought this need to be said for some perspective. If the virus first hit another major US city I'm so not sure the numbers (figured to population) would look all that different. This would be like assigning a foreign person who'd never seen a football game to be the coach of the Colts after the first quarter. The first game he'd get clobbered. He'd eventually get less worse once he understood the rules, how to prepare and how to play.

  36. All of my wife's hearings have been via online/camera,etc...We bought a new web camera and printer/scanner in May. Just had it delivered 2 weeks ago. It was impossible to find in April and May. Stinks that it's still going on. Speaking of refrigerators my aunt bought one in April. Just had it delivered last week. I know Covid has caused problems but some of this stuff just doesn't make any sense to me.

  38. I'm honestly surprised you hadn't ran across his name earlier. He got a lot of discussion with Trey Kaufman as a possible duo/either/or when he was an IU recruit. Turdue still trying to convince Kaufman to be a package deal with Furst, but it's obvious he makes a better package with Duncomb. 😜
