  1. So far Nate is saying the right things in his welcome conference this morning. Main highlights are: - Offensive style will be disruptive, lots of movement. Different guys handling the ball. - Pritchard receiving lots of texts and calls about this being a great hire - No set rotation, each game dictates a rotation. Won't be afraid to enter "said" player into any game. Wants each player to believe he can enter any game - Believes talent and IQ of the team is very good - The two bigs are very dynamic, compliment each other very well. Feels very comfortable having two bigs - On Oladipo; He texted me(coach) immediately after I was hired and I called him. It was very welcoming, we had a great talk, I like Vics energy, our energy fed off of each other. Note from Pritchard on Vic: - Vic and I(Pritchard) have a great relationship, Vic feels good about the team. He's talked to me about how he thinks this team can be very good. You hear alot of things, but until it comes to me I don't really worry about what is being talked about. He(Pritchard) pointed out Vic still has 1 year left on his deal -Pritchard had a team zoom call yesterday and said Vic spoke up and was positive as he has ever seen Vic. - Vic is full out cleared health wise.

  12. Why do I feel compelled to call the new coach Bjorn Bork?

  13. True, but they are outside. Not as confined as the others. Will be really interesting as we go into winter. Huge advantage for restaurants, etc in southern states

  17. I have to disagree on the robo ump calling ball and strikes. They've tried it in the minors and it wasn't accuarate and guys still argued. I also hate the K zone on tv because it isn't accurate on several ball and strikes throughout the game and makes the umpires look bad when the ball could've crossed a section of the plate but doesnt go through the box.

  20. Nice spelling! lol If he can develop Aaron Holiday a little more and develop Goga I think this team can be top 4 and win more than 1 series in the playoffs. He's big into player development, an area that the former Nate struggled at mightily.

  21. Well players around the league tend to think highly of him as a coach. He's a players coach that's good with player development and putting teams in a position to win. As for Vic I don't think they really care what he thinks that much at this point.

  23. As of Friday, indoor dining will be suspended in 4 suburban Chicagoland counties representing 1/6th the states population. With the weather getting colder, this will be a big blow to many restaurants. Make your reservations now for NWI dining.

We had a male dog, but when I would look at him, he looked at me like, " screw you. You had me neutered. I'm with them." Thanks. It's my favorite thread too.

  28. Honestly I can't believe that's been so rare. I saw that stat on twitter and thought only 2 people in World Series history have a walk and stole 2nd/3rd ever? Shoot I think Vince Coleman did that vs my Cubs about 30x in early 80's.

  31. Story claims woman died on plane in July. Just now getting counted as a Covid death. Call me skeptical. The woman may have had Covid. But, she died of something else (heart attack, stroke, aneurysm, etc.), A person well enough to get on a plane does not die of Covid 30 ,minutes later. And, it goes without saying the validity of any death reported 3 months later than it happened has to be called into question. https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/20/us/woman-dies-of-covid-on-plane-trnd/index.html

  35. On a completely unrelated note. Peter Dinwiddie was a guy that started with Pacers way back when. If there is a rung below ticket sales on the NBA career path that's where he started. Anyway....pretty cool to see hard work pay off. He's VP of Operations now at Philly....one step below Elton Brand. Pretty cool story for the local guy.

  42. My nephew is his teammate. Showed me some stuff last night on Hooks - that isn't out for public viewing of him in game and practices What kind of info would you want cybergates? Here is what I've gathered since I couldn't stop watching his reels. Dude is a stud. Lean but a wiry strong kid.More B1G ready body than many a past IU recruit was going into college as of his 8th grade year.. IDEAL frame for more weight as he grows but he doesn't need much to go with the big boys as is. .Physical on the interior but also able to fit such a broad skillset into a finesse scheme. Eyes are usually up typical of kids who play above the rim most of the time.Decent overall awarenss on both ends, and will makw blue collar plays along with the highlight reel stuff.Killer in transition.Killer. Good handle for his size. Will throw it down your neck if he is given any space and sometimes when trying not to.Best way to contain is get nto him early and often and draw fouls..Being in the right spot might be the only way to contain him at some point on his current trajectory.Justin Smith - athletic with natural killer instinct.Solid comparison there physically but Hooks looks stronger now than Smith did as a Freshman at IU.. He could still learn a few more post.moves. Sneaky off ball movement on offense , and ability to recover to make a play on or off the ball defensively - even if he doesn't get the first step. Versatile etc etc. Solid shooter as of what I viewed, but that could use some work .JMO.Athletic enough to do whatever he works towards improving. The impressive thing to me is a lot of his opponents know what's coming but not much they can do about it. Protects the rim with enthusiam. As in pins shots to backboards with one hand and pulls them down enthusiasm.Very stingy at the rim .Can't emphasize that enough on all I have saw.Not a kid who merely wants to block a shot.He wants to beat that s*** up! Not saying Hooks will, but as a player he LOOKS capable of reclassifying a year early if there.were to ever be a scenario where he finished high school requirements for college early, and really wanted to get a jumpstart. The only things that can stop kids with his talent are poor decisions or attitudes.I didn't get that far on my curiosity since it got late. Not sure if he takes plays off or other ill habits since I was Hook-ed on the obbious .Lol Not sure who all is in contact .Will let you know .I'll ask my nephew more today at dinner.
