We ended up going to Mother Bears. The girls had gone there after a soccer game in Bloomington several years ago, but it was my first trip. Yummy. Had a good pie and a local IPA that was tasty.
I was in a Chinese restaurant once years ago, and the proprietor looked at my daughter and wife, then at me, and said to my wife, "what happened, different father?"
Lol. My daughter was so cute. I guess I'm not.
There's really something to be said to hearing about your favorite restaurants and bars when you were a college kid, now in your 50s, and they're still there and going. Bloomington going strong, Give me Mother Bears, Little Zagreb's, Runcible Spoon, Nick's English Hut, Cafe Pizzaria, Village Deli....
Here’s me with my wife and kids. My oldest (3 1/2) completely changed my world when he was born and has made me a much better man and husband. Been with my wife since high school, she’s amazing! The little one is always goofing around.
I don’t think in the late 90’s the majority of the gen X went to the Vid, can’t say that’s the same now for gen Z. We went there because it wasn’t frequented by gen X and we didn’t want to deal with Kilroys but also didn’t want to go somewhere like the office lounge. It skewed older back then but sure doesn’t feel that way now.
I can't believe no one has mentioned Buffa Louie's for a good place to grab a bite to eat. FARMbloomington is another really good choice.
And everything that everyone has mentioned in here already is great. Bloomington really has a great food scene.
Recently we were out with our whole family and my daughter is my wife's mini me for sure. Some lady asked if they were my daughters. I will never ever ever live it down.
Unfortunately, looking like I might have quite a few trips to Bloomington in my future...starting in August of 2021, and I’ll be bringing my checkbook with me...
