  1. Lander reclass Duncomb committed and signed TK to PU MM to creighton aminu here in January if the dots connect could be a lot worse. Galloway and Geronimo have the tools to be all time fan faves. Give them time.

  2. I 1000% agree. I’m soooo freaking tired of all of these “fans” being babies because we didn’t get a couple recruits. In the 2021 in state class there was literally 1 or maybe 2 players I wanted everyone else to me wasn’t worth it... they also are forgetting that our 2020 class was loaded and 3 of the 4 are 4 year players. People need to chill out and stop worrying. In the words of Aaron Rodgers R-E-L-A-X

  7. This is a very worthwhile thread. Its a tough time and a tough topic. It is easy for emotions to take over. All I ask is remember, we are friends on an IU fan board. Lets discuss without jeopardizing that.

  10. The countries that have managed this well are the Asia-Pacific countries that had previous experience with the SARS epidemic.,Their populations were willing to accept restrictions and contact tracing. I’ve traveled a lot in my career. It was common to see Asian travelers wearing masks long before COVID. The US and Europe hadn’t experienced an epidemic in more than a century.

  11. I was headed to UT/Texas AM to propose during the game... Covid altered that plan.. when I got the news I drove to her house on Tues and did it right then. Still surreal and we are obviously incredibly happy, we announced the news last night on FB.. so I wanted to let you guys know as well... she said YES!

  17. I like that it doesn't have to be stored at such a cold temperature. It is supposed to last 30 days in a normal refrigerator. That was a major concern I had about the Pfizer vaccine. Distribution of that would be a nightmare for our country, let alone some countries in different parts of the world. Also, how will distribution work? Will someone decide on 1 vaccine that "wins" and then that will be the only option, or will there be competing vaccines that make it to market?

  25. Very kind of you to re-read what I wrote, but no need to apologize to me at all... And I DO understand the frustration. It IS frustrating that we can't carry on a normal life. As I said, I do all of the little things that I can personally, although I will cop to the fact that we probably go out more than we should (3 or 4 times a week) to eat (and my rationalization there is it's for our mental well being, and we do go out later, always after 8:30 when the crowds have thinned out). I also think that there's plenty of common ground outside of the COVID conversation that we can find to eliminate other problems our country has. At times I wonder if the philosophical fissure is too wide for us to recover from. Government gridlock can be a dangerous thing. I've promised myself that I will no longer vote for any candidate who is not willing to work across the aisle. This needs to stop. These people ALL work for us, or are at least supposed to. Infrastructure, the eventual transition to renewable fuels, reforming immigration, and creating opportunities for all Americans should be the goals. It'll take compromise, but that's in the job description as far as I'm concerned...

  26. Tail between my legs right now. You are right @IUFLA , I read through your initial conclusion too quickly and carelessly. For some reason, in my head I thought you wrote 'stay the course'. Still a nautical term but completely different, which prompted my response. I apologize for that. A little embarrassed too. For the record, I have condemned mass gatherings on both sides from a COVID stand point multiple times. I'm not sure what that does to the overall argument. I makes me uneasy when I see mass outdoor gatherings at a Trump rally or from the celebrations in the street when the media projected the presidency to Biden. Also, to be transparent from a political aspect. When I say more needs to be done on a national level it's not solely a shot at Trump. I have a good friend who is an elected official in local government. Cases are going crazy and local hospitals are at or near capacity. They feel it's best to announce more restrictions by shutting down/limiting capacity of bars, restaurants, gyms, etc. but the economical burden to those business owners and employees weigh heavily on him, his mayor and fellow alderman. So much so, they can't sleep and he (who struggles with depression) is struggling from a mental health standpoint. They would feel better about making, what they think is the right decision, if they could offer financial assistance to the people who will suffer as a result of their policies. But they are hamstrung by the state, who is hamstrung by the federal government - it's delaying their decision when time is of the essence. As we know blame is directed to both sides, who are too busy playing politics rather than passing stimulus money that is desperately needed. That is a problem happening at the national level; an issue that I feel I can point to and safely skirt the political line because the blame is bipartisan in nature. I think we can go into a long, long conversation about contact tracing as I've read and listened to many scientists talk about this. I'll leave it at, this is not impossible.....it is/was our most effective way out of this. That doesn't mean it will be easy, but funding, training, guidance, assistance need to start at the federal level because they are the only level that has the resources to effectively start an effective program. I do think the rush to ventilation machines, the vaccine fast-track program, etc. are great. Remarkable achievements. These vaccines, if approved and effective as they say, are historically monumental. I'm happy to acknowledge that and give credit to where credit is due. But we can walk and chew gum at the same time too. That doesn't take away from the fact that we are at the worst point in this pandemic right now despite a zillion warnings from scientists about a second wave occuring in the fall. I'm frustrated and I'm sure you are frustrated. I don't understand why we can't monitor the situation at hand and critique or actions up to this point and our actions now. If that means constructively critiquing decisions made at local levels than so be it. Fair game as far as I'm concerned. This should not be a political thing. We get so swept up in who is receiving or assigning blame to an elected official like it's an assault on our judgement for supporting or condemning said elected official. A specific issue should be argued based on its own merit, not who's supporting or opposing said issue. I find it sad that it seems to be this way, because when we step back and take a look at the big picture it's all so ridiculous. Maybe that's just my perception and i can only speak for myself. As I said in the past, I don't care who's right (or wrong); I just want us to get it right.

But then... i saw the warning post from Blue ( who I like) about locking down this critical thread..... and decided, though what I was going to link was not political.... it just not worth it. Guys play by the rules. Please.

  35. There are no Democracies in Asiatic countries. We arent a Democracy either. The ancient Greeks were the only true democracy. Democracy is mob rule. Our founders understood that and created a constitutional republic where each state has it's own say. They created layers upon layers to make government inefficient as it should be. The US is a collection of 50 states, and if people are unhappy with the response to this situation, well we voted all the dumbasses in, so garbage in, garbage out. We are suffering because we have a country full of idiots. All sides.

  42. My wife who is a healthcare worker tested positive this morning. I was tested Saturday after having symptoms for a few days. Should get results today or tomorrow. My symptoms seem to be flu like. We are now quarantined for a couple weeks. Thanksgiving is down the drain. Update: I also tested positive. I believe I was exposed last week by my niece when we were in our way to see my brother before he passed. She tested positive a couple days after we got home.

  43. And then things got weird. Oladipo got weird. He got arrogant. He became a superstar in his own mind. Is he surrounded by the wrong people? Talk to NBA types, they’ll tell you he’s getting very bad advice from a young agent who counts Oladipo as his only prominent basketball client. But Victor, who is 28, is his own man, a sharp and intelligent soul, and this is ultimately on him. Oladipo and his people want you to believe now that he’s all-in on making it work long-term with the Pacers. 14 hours ago – via Bob Kravitz @ The Athletic Show teammates, who are said to have become fed up with his antics. Show management, which has bent over backward to accommodate Oladipo, only to watch him treat them like dirt. Show the city, which embraced him with such vigor and now wonders how it’s supposed to feel about the once-prodigal son. 14 hours ago – via Bob Kravitz @ The Athletic Just saw a couple of excerpts from a Kravitz article
