  7. The same Coach K that said the tournament must be played this year? https://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/29687376 The same Coach K that said every team should be in the tournament?https://accsports.com/acc-news/acc-proposes-every-division-i-team-make-2021-ncaa-tournament-an-effort-led-by-coach-k/ Food for thought. Since Krzyzewski is pronounced Sha-chef-ski with the K making an Sh sound, then Duke should be pronounced Du-Sh-e and he should be called Coach Shh and STHU.

  8. Coach K thinks the NCAA should reconsider whether to play through the pandemic. Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski questions playing basketball games during coronavirus pandemic (espn.com) Translation: We just got our arses handed to us at home for the second time in a week by a Big Ten team and our NCAA seed is going to be negatively impacted by that.

  9. I mean.. he doesn't even have to be that for us to be a top 5 team. That roster is so loaded it's stupid. Pittman progressing, pray Campbell can stay healthy... Throw in Wentz and maybe sign someone like Golladay or Allen Robinson etc... with the TEs and OL that's already in place. Shew.

  10. I think Harden can definitely be the best player on a championship team. He probably came the closest of anyone to beating the Dubs when they were full strength, and would have sans a CP3 injury.

  11. Good post and thoughts. I saw a Facebook post talking about how this is worse than the great depression, spanish flu, ww2, and others. I've had to bite my tongue. We are so blessed, so fortunate, so comfortable, so unchallenged. The average annual worldwide deaths by starvation is 9 million. Meanwhile 40% of the us is overweight. Dated in may. Wonder what the current and future outlook is now? https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/05/05/850470436/u-n-warns-number-of-people-starving-to-death-could-double-amid-pandemic

  12. A thought crossed my mind that was somewhat in relation to this post. I was thinking that the Spanish Flu had to be tough to go through at that time compared to today just because of the technology. And then I was thinking, just imagine how much worse this would've been even 15 years ago. Things that we have or can do today that we couldn't 15 years ago. Working remotely was a thing, but not nearly as common. And for those who work at home they now have access to files and info via cloud based services. We didn't have the capabilities to do virtual learning. Kids didn't have chrome books. Not enough bandwidth to do video calls (to the degree we do them now). No shopping services like Insta Cart and Shipt for the compromised to use. Amazon and online shopping was in it's infancy. NO NETFLIX streaming (gasp). No HSN (double gasp). On the plus side social media wasn't as prevalent as it is today...perhaps we wouldn't be as divided. Sure we would've made it through, but I think the economical effects would have been much worse. Anyway, just a random thought that ran through my head that I thought was interesting.

  16. Absolutely in. As long as.. his contract is restructured somewhat so that we pay him a little less than what we're paying Rivers. I have watched a ton of Philly this year because I have Goedert and Ertz and my fiancé has Sanders... Wentz can't defend himself vs that OL. It's worse than Lucks OLs.. he was sacked 7 times vs the Packers. He has been sacked 3+ times in like 10 straight games or some s*** like that. He threw for 250 a game last season.. 27 TDs 7 INTs. He didn't just forget how to play football. He turns 28 at the end of the month. Give them a 4th rd pick and redo the contract and let's go.

  17. I'd prefer the Big 10 be 7-0, especially in a year with less out of conference games, but if we have to go 6-1, that is a great way to do it!

  27. couldn't be any better! as long as Purdouche loses (and they blew a 20 point lead) and we win the rest, i'm good! so nice living in ACC country to have the B1G take it to them. Iowa is very good. they can shoot the lights out. were hot 1st half and cold 2nd, but they have multiple shooters, move the ball well, and they have Garza. if i were allowed to say they will kick us in the teeth, i would, but i'm going to be positive... we've got a chance!

  28. If IU doesn't get the needed production from RP & JH, this team will struggle to compete for 8th. They both are simply the one two punch that dictates the success of this IU team and so far I can't lean on any of the Frosh to pick up the loss of production. I can see 20 or 30 pt losses to Illinois, Iowa and MSU unless things change soon! Hope my pessimism is getting the best of me but just don't see it!

  29. Anyone remember Matthew Hurt? Was AAU teammates with Race Thompson in HS and considered IU for a brief minute. Ended up picking Duke. From watching him twice this season as a Sophmore he seems like he was pretty overrated. Seems like a selfish player and really hasn't shown anything special besides maybe a decent mid range jumper.

  30. I can definitely see them adding Harden with Zion, but not trading Zion. Zion is a real building block, a young centerpiece. Harden? Houston just broke everything up for a reason. Together though that could be really effective

  31. Nothing wrong with looking for bargains and buying low to sell high. I was just saying earlier dollar cost averaging, proven over multiple decades with many major market swings, has always out-performed market timing. And generally you’re better off - imo - buying stocks in companies you know and understand, and believe in, than going for that stock you really don’t understand. Exceptions? Absolutely. As an investment strategy though, well, risky approach

  32. Without multiple superstars...you just aren’t going to win a championship. For a few teams with one or none...sometimes it’s what you have to do to give you a shot at it. I’m not sure Harden style can win a championship but there are only 3-4 teams with a legit shot without him to win it...so you got to roll the dice sometimes. Guy can get so hot you never know. Certainly he has to adjust his game too if he is going to play with another star if he thinks he is going to win it all. I mean he was so close with Houston when Paul was there...an injury away honestly.

  36. Did you guys read the story? The reasons why they waited on options for more vaccines specifically from Pfizer is clearly outlined. No one knew who, out of the 7 companies working on a vaccination, would be able to produce one first. So if we only go for Pfizer's we've back ourselves into a corner. We've given 1 company a promise to cover more than 1/3rd of our population (the 100 million that we initially purchased would cover 50 million people as 2 doses are required). Of course, an "anonymous source" Monday morning quarterbacking is nothing new... Not to mention, why do we even have a vaccination becoming available this early anyway? Talk about agendas...

  37. Which is why I hesitated in even participating in this thread because it ultimately leads to sides/points,etc... Now I know nothing about the gaming industry and Penn National specifically but when a stock or others are oversold on fear/emotions because of the pandemic...and it was trading at $38/share and goes to less than $5 inside of a month? Why not buy? $5k investment is now worth $78k 9 months later. Now I dumped at $35 and $50 to lock in profits but there is money to be made on technical side of trading without lumping them into the hot stock category. Historically I agree in the Peter Lynch way of investing you describe but different times now. For example. Doordash IPO at $102. I say no way. It's an overpriced product that in next 6-24 months will post low revenues because more and more people will be going out for food instead of deliver. Will I be wrong? Maybe but when I see stocks like I've mentioned in this thread before get hit as hard as last March hit some stocks.....it wouldn't be prudent not to investigate and invest. Of course just my 2 cents.

  38. The recent blast and taking of sides has really disappointed me to the extent that I’m going to log off and only ghost this site now and then. Opinions or comments that blast someone should be sent via pm. Not publicly. I moderated for years. My brother is a CNN writer and I hear all kinds of this one way crap on holidays. Have a good holiday friends. I’ve had enough

  39. I would like to say why this happened, but I can’t b/c of politics. Let’s just say that the powers that be decided they didn’t need Pfizer’s extra doses that were offered. So, Pfizer sold them to other countries.

  40. I just think there's a fine line of disagreeing on a particular subject and parroting disproven and false information. What history has show to be wrong on this board: - The virus will go away by (fill in the blank: next month, the summer with warm weather, this fall, BY THE ELECTION). WRONG. - This virus is only the flu. WRONG. - Talking about a fall spike is a scare tactic by the media, Fauci, governors, etc. (said this past summer and spring) WRONG. - The biased media is trying to cover up the efficacy of HCQ. WRONG. - The death numbers are wrong, the case numbers are wrong, the hospitalizations are wrong, etc. WRONG. - Herd immunity via natural spread is a good idea. WRONG. - It's mother nature, we can't do anything about it. WRONG. - The only reason the case numbers increase is because we are testing more. COMPLETELY FLAWED LOGIC. - Masks don't work. WRONG. - We, as a country, have done everything we can. WRONG. One outrageous claim on it's own can be brushed aside, but everything added up seems to me like some are trying undermine the seriousness of the virus. An agenda is being pushed either intentionally or unintentionally. So if you wonder why I get frustrated, it's because the information above has polluted the message put out by scientists, doctors and infectious disease experts. This crap is why nobody is on the same page in our country. It's not only the strange links; it's the culmination of these links used to push a false reality. And the acceptance of it all like it's 'just innocently sharing an alternate view point' is just mind boggling to me. At some point I have to say that contributing to this exponential spread of this BS is doing more damage than good.

  43. Pfizer hopes to get its vaccine approved by the FDA Thursday. No doubt it is effective (95%). What hasn't got much attention are the the side effects. From the Pfizer disclosures- The vaccine has been shown to elicit increased local and systemic adverse reactions as compared to those in the placebo arm, usually lasting a few days... The most common solicited adverse reactions were injection site reactions (84.1%), fatigue (62.9%), headache (55.1%), muscle pain (38.3%), chills (31.9%), joint pain (23.6%), fever (14.2%) Severe adverse reactions occurred in 0.0-4.6% of participants, were more frequent after Dose 2 than after Dose 1 and were generally less frequent in older adults (>55 years of age) (<2.8%) as compared to younger participants (≤4.6%). Among reported unsolicited adverse events, lymphadenopathy occurred much more frequently in the vaccine group than the placebo group and is plausibly related to vaccination.
