Wow. Gives a little perspective. Really hope this road/neutral game experience benefits us later in the season.3 points

Fixed it for you lol It's a wacky season for sure, whether/to what extent playing almost every game at home, on your own floor, with your recognize sight lines, and as in Wisc with you absurdly prejudicial refs, benefits a team is a question we can all debate for sure, but for me, absolutely believe playing almost all your games at home benefits a team2 points

Yeah, I don't see a reason to complain here. Typical years we play 1 true road game and 1-2 neutral site games with 8-9 home games before conference play starts. We had Maui and less cupcakes this year. Optics for records probably are affected a little but usually that is dictated more by conference performance anyway.2 points
-
In conference, our split is 3 & 3. Not sure we have anything to complain about there. Outside of conference, we had 4 neutral site, and only 1 true road game (FSU). Other teams, like Michigan and Minnesota may have benefitted from a home heavy schedule. But, with no fans, that's not as meaningful as it would normally be. I have to say, we probably are who we are at this point.2 points

I just think any arguments about scheduling are lame. All that is taken into consideration now with advanced metrics. And our hard Big 10 schedule looks a little less daunting than at the beginning of the season. Of the currently 6 ranked Big 10 teams, we only play 3 of them twice (Iowa, Illinois, and Michigan). We'll see how the schedule shakes out at the end of the year, since this is all subject to change. I don't see the purpose of lamenting over the teams we have to play or what teams some other big 10 team doesn't have to play.1 point

I should have just quoted you. This. Now GMs just have to figure out if those QBs were so good because of the talent around them, or was it a combination. Sarkisian is also absolutely fantastic as a play caller. As was Kiffin.1 point

Nick Saban doesn't coach QBs though. It isn't until REALLY recently that Bama's offenses have been ungodly good. This isn't their teams from early in Saban days. There really isn't a precedent for these Bama QBs until Tua, and now Mac.1 point
-
I don't know that it's fair to say Jones would be the exception - Bama hasn't had big time QBs until Tua and now Jones. It's too early to tell on Tua. There isn't really any history of first round QBs from under Saban not turning out.1 point

I find it interesting that WI, loaded with 4th and 5th year seniors, played one non-con game outside of the Kohl's center. That was at Marquette (a game WI lost), about 80 miles from Madison. They've played 4 of 5 B1G games at home (road game with PSU was postponed) By comparison, Gonzaga has played 6 of 12 neutral site or road games, Baylor 6 of 11 road/neutral and Villanova 7 of 9 road/neutral. And a nod to Mile, CO has played 9 of 12 road/neutral1 point

Several thoughts.... -Going back to what I said earlier in this thread, Jones may turn out to be a good NFL quarterback, but if so he'd be the exception. I can't recall a Saban coached Alabama qb who turned out to be a good pro. Also, even though it happened several years ago, Jones was arrested for a DUI. Young kid, stupid mistake, I get it. But still not a decision or thought process that a franchise potential qb should be involved in. -Costanzo will be a loss. However, thought Veldheer or whatever his name is, held up pretty well Saturday. The Colts have over %50 million in cap space this coming year...4th most of any team. Meanwhile, the Saints are $95 million over, the Eagles $51 million over. Both are gonna have to let go of some players, and both have good O-lines. May be someone there worth pursuing. -I would take Stafford in a heartbeat, and definitely over Wentz. Whomever made the comment that Stafford hasn't won much....have you looked at the lack of talent, and coaching turnover in that organization? Stafford is one tough SOB, and has played, and played well through a myriad of injuries. What this season has shown me regarding Wentz is that he is all about himself, and really not the guy I would want leading the Colts.1 point

I just don't see the Eagles as a contender in the NFC East in the next few years no matter who the coach is. With that being said does Philly hang on to him? I dunno. Regardless, if the Colts have a chance to nab him then they should as long as it doesn't screw with the core of the team.1 point

That's a big loss. If you keep Rivers I am not in favor of moving Quinton Nelson to Tackle but if we get a more mobile QB, I say move Q and then get a guard in middle rounds.1 point

Probably so.. I do know there were multiple outlets that saw JE as a 1st round talent, but for some reason did not interview well, I love where the Colts are... just a tick uneasy about the QB situation. Rivers was the right move though. He was solid, exactly what we signed him to be.1 point
-
I'm not saying the plan is bad at all, and I certainly wouldn't be upset with it.... just saying that what if they REALLY like JE progression? We don't know the answer to that question. We might know after the draft though. haha1 point
-
Agreed - none of us really know, but I also don't love pinning the future on a fourth round draft pick. I know guys drafted in that range can turn out, but most of them don't amount to anything more than a backup. I think introducing more competition into that situation would be a good thing.1 point
-
I think Stafford has 5 years left. If we can get him, I go that route. If not, I bring back Rivers for 1 year and draft Mac Jones or maybe Kyle Trask and sit them for a year.1 point

Stafford is about to turn 33. I think the question is, how much? How much does he have left in the tank after getting pounded so many times? How many surgeries has he had? The Colts have a chip they can play in the fact that they offer one of the best o lines and a very complete team. I won't be surprised if they play it back again with Rivers but I'd prefer 2 years with Stafford over one more with Rivers. Just a slightly higher ceiling.1 point

I think Wisconsin will give Michigan their biggest test yet...It'll be interesting to see how the freshman Dickinson (who is fantastic by the way...averages 18 ppg on, get this, 73% shooting) fares against the veteran duo of Potter and Reuvers. Michigan's only 2 road games so far were at Nebraska on Christmas Day and at Maryland on New Years eve...Neither the Huskers or the Terps had an answer for Wagner (who's staring to play like his brother did for the Wolverines) and Dickinson...The Terps tried to guard Dickinson with Donta Scott who's 6'7 and he ate them alive...I know this one is a Crisler, but I think it'll be a great B1G game to watch...1 point

Looks like Lamb is about back. Traveling with the team on this road trip and has been full go in practice lately. Also, article notes that Warren will be out 6-8 weeks. Previously they were afraid it was way worse. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nba/pacers/2021/01/10/pacers-news-nate-bjorkgren-waiting-green-light-play-jeremy-lamb/6616108002/1 point
