  1. "We need Indiana kids." "We have to recruit Indiana" "Close the borders" We are most likely getting an Indiana kid and now it seems people are saying he isn't good enough. Labeled me confused. I personally am excited to get this kid at IU and having him commit early is even more of a plus in my eyes

  2. Chalk one up for the red, white and blue and the cream and crimson today. Since just after Thanksgiving, my dad had been dealing with some abnormal (but not extreme) stomach pain. Being a Vietnam vet, his primary care is through the VA. After some preliminary tests at his local clinic, they recommended him to the VA in Indianapolis, with an attending oncologist from IU Health supervising his case. Over the past two days, he underwent a battery of tests. The outcome, not great, but could be much worse. A relatively small mass was found at the head of his pancreas, but it had not spread to where it was intertwined into the lobules of the pancreas. Liver, gall bladder, small intestine and lymph nodes were all clear. Preliminary prognosis: extremely good. Likely treatable with chemo only.

  4. I watched a lot of the 2nd half... I already had a huge amount of respect for Leonard Hamilton, but something the announcers mentioned increased it... Said Hamilton vets recruits more thoroughly than most, and if they have a handler or someone "representing them" he drops the recruitment immediately...no one is going to interfere in his program... Kudos, Coach Hamilton...

  5. All I know is Purdue doesn’t have superior talent then most they play. It’s execution, tenacity, and fundamentals. It comes from their coach. This is suppose to be a down year for them and they are going to be in the conversation to finish at the top of the B1G. Painter is simply a damn good coach. Is it a coincidence Purdue wins these close games and IU loses them. This is a young Purdue team that is going to probably win the B1G or be right there in the next 2-3 years.

  6. Speaking personally, I've never much cared where a kid is from once they put on the jersey. It didn't matter to me when AJ Moye blocked Carlos Boozer, when DJ White was B10 POY, when Vic was dunking all over the Big Ten, or when OG blocks led to Thomas Bryant dunks against Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament. Talent is talent, you don't get bonus points for where you played high school ball. Locking down the state is something you only hear when Indiana isn't winning, and fans can see players from the state having success elsewhere. It isn't a guarantor of team success, nor is being from the state sufficient assurance that any particular player will be able to contribute at the Big Ten level. Each year, only a handful of the thousands of Indiana kids will even get an offer from IU. The question isn't where Gunn is from, it's whether he can contribute to a winning team.

  7. The Colts paid 40 mil for qbs this year. Could pay Stafford 33 and possibly have a higher ceiling if it all comes together.

  8. I would point out the converse to either. I don’t want the record manipulated in either direction. As far as Braden goes, I only know about these kids what I read here. I just cheer for whoever shows up.

  11. We’re also 8-9 possessions in the PSU and NE games from what we are seeing here now being a church social compared to what it would be.

  14. With that data no way he's around at 21. And I didn't win the mega millions. Not one number. But there is always a chance tonight in the powerball.

  16. That wouldn't be a good thing IMO. Way too fragile. https://sportsinjurypredictor.com/player/carson-wentz/7450 Not sure who it would be, but the Colts need to find their version of Ryan Tannehill. A guy who was serviceable, but unremarkable on a pedestrian Dolphin team, who made a major leap when getting the opportunity in TN. And no it's not Trubisky.

  17. I have no idea. Since they have the other quarterback and are in a terrible cap situation they might do it. The Colts are a quarterback and another speed receiver from being elite.

  20. Part of the 21 class was made up with Stewart. I’m sure they’ll consider one more transfer too. And hopefully Brunk comes back.

  33. Couldn’t agree more about Moore. Huge ranking and having an interior O lineman like that can really help the run game and keep the middle of the pocket clean in the pass game. I have felt that the middle of the offensive line is too overlooked by fans. It can really make the run game go.

  34. Because that's what happens when a team is 8-6 and literally 8-9 possessions from being 11-3 and ranked in top 20. At FSU and at Wiscy overtime....not to mention Northwestern. Just those 3 games this whole board has a different feel.

  35. I apologize for derailing the thread. I'll never agree that a recruits ranking matters whatsoever. Flat out.. if this team had a PG who could play... we are in a different position than we are now. I think Lander is going to be really good, but I knew he wasn't the answer THIS season. I watched too much film on him from his HS games. His ranking was absolutely ridiculous.

  36. You don't out play a ranking. That is not a thing. I'm sorry, but absolutely absurd to still believe that ranking next to a name on a recruiting site holds any sort of bearing when they get on a college campus. Armaan isn't out playing a damn thing, he is just that good and works THAT hard. https://247sports.com/player/matt-howard-63605/ https://247sports.com/Player/Gordon-Hayward-60420/high-school-105252/ https://247sports.com/Player/Shelvin-Mack-60424/high-school-105263/ https://247sports.com/player/luka-garza-84266/ https://247sports.com/Player/Ja-Morant-46035335/high-school-183728/ https://247sports.com/Player/Marcus-Carr-86079/high-school-151360/ I could go on and on and on with these. I could also find PLENTY of examples of top 50 busts. Putting a cap on someone's talent/ability/upside because they are a "sub 100 wing" is very concerning.

  37. Obviously not a Cal fan. When Ayden was 1st diagnosed a guy I never met from KY that was a high school basketball coach sent out message to all coaches in the KY high school coaches association to pray for Ayden. Some how Cal found out and sent an autographed pic and basketball to Ayden and followed up with a phone call to talk with me. 2 years later there was a fund raiser for Aydens medical cost Cal donated a autographed ball and 4 tix lower level for a UK home game for the auction. I have lots of stories like that about so many coaches. Cal, Crean and Buzz Williams took time to call and talk with me and CTC and Buzz still reach out time.to.time.

  39. Understand. But when you point out the counter to a potentially positive comment (heaven forbid) it gives a tell so to speak...don't you think? No worries. Back to Braden. He would say yes in point .000001 seconds if offered.

  42. I'm really surprised we got Ball back too... happy though. Layne isn't a stud, but a very solid, experienced football player. We could have used both of them in the bowl game.

  43. I was hoping for 1 of Fryfogle/Whop, and 1 of Jamar/McFadden to come back. We hit on both, replaced Whop with Matthews, replaced Crider with Carpenter, and had pretty good luck with the rest of the seniors. I'm really happy with how things worked out.
