  1. I've been in FL the last couple days getting my fill of the outdoors before I return to the cold. I kayaked for 4 hours in Estero Bay. Hiked up Mound Key. Walked the beaches in Bonita Springs and Naples, walked through the corkscrew preserve and will hike a few miles thru Cypress Slough before heading back today. Got more exercise in 2 days than the last 2 months!

  2. Also a big Hyundai/Kia fan. I put a combined 375K on a 2007 and a 2011 Santa Fe. No major issues with either one. I wound up selling the 2011 for parts when the flywheel broke, and gave the 2007 to a guy for helping me move recently. I like the look of the Telluride/Palisade, but I finally relented and bought a "truck". I haul quite a bit of lumber/mulch/etc and got tired of folding seats and having to clean the interior out so much. The only thing that kept me from buying a truck earlier is fuel. I've got a 40 mile round trip commute (or had anyway) and don't want to pay for gas on a V8 for that amount of driving. Plus, I don't tow anything. So, I bought a 2019 Honda Ridgeline....hence the parentheses in "truck". It's basically a Pilot with the back cargo roof cut off. But, it's the only midsize pickup that can lay a 4x8 sheet of plywood flat, and gets about 23mpg. Is it going to win any off-road competitions? Nope. But, it does exactly what I need it to do. Also, if you ever get the chance, the Honda Pre-owned Certified Plus warranty is fantastic. I bought the truck with 9000 miles on it, and it came with a factory 5 year, 75K mile bumper to bumper warranty and 100K power train warranty. That's actually better than Honda's new car warranty.

  3. People love to see Indiana kids but more so they want to see impact players on the court. Simply put we don’t have enough of those on the roster...and it is pretty full of Indiana kids. Our teams that have won conference championships have had multiple impact players on them. Right now we have 1....maybe 2 on nights Armaan is on. Trayce will be gone very soon. We need that next alpha. Maybe Gunn will be that...right now though he doesn’t even jump off the screen in HS...so that has some concerned.

  4. Speaking personally, I've never much cared where a kid is from once they put on the jersey. It didn't matter to me when AJ Moye blocked Carlos Boozer, when DJ White was B10 POY, when Vic was dunking all over the Big Ten, or when OG blocks led to Thomas Bryant dunks against Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament. Talent is talent, you don't get bonus points for where you played high school ball. Locking down the state is something you only hear when Indiana isn't winning, and fans can see players from the state having success elsewhere. It isn't a guarantor of team success, nor is being from the state sufficient assurance that any particular player will be able to contribute at the Big Ten level. Each year, only a handful of the thousands of Indiana kids will even get an offer from IU. The question isn't where Gunn is from, it's whether he can contribute to a winning team.

  5. I've been saying for a while that he's the #1 recruit I want for next year. Having a stud guard would be huge. He'd be our highest ranked OL by a lot. On 247 he'd be our 9th best recruit in their rankings history. Cronk is our highest OL at 18th best. I'd love to hear if anybody has any insight too. Really interested to know what our chances are here.

  6. I dont feel bad at all. I hope they implode and will enjoy watching it. The only thing that could possibly make me pull for them is if they do get to the Finals. As a Celtics fan, I can't have the Lakers getting title #18.

  7. Also interesting is that while Harden did have another triple-double, in Kyrie's return Kyrie took 28 shots and Harden only took 14. I didn't see the game and maybe they're using Harden more as a facilitator, but that is something to watch. I can't imagine Harden would be happy for long taking only half the shots as Kyrie if they're not winning.

  8. Great defensive effort last night by the "big 3" in a 2OT loss to the Cavs. 147-135

  9. If you read the article I linked above, it mentions that Darnold could be kept on the 5th year option which means he would have 2 years before negotiating a big payday. I would hope that would give the Colts, should they go in this direction, ample time to evaluate whether he is worth a long term contract

  11. Henry To'o To'o is in the transfer portal. Dear God I'd name my first born Henry if we got him. He is an absolute stud.

  13. Exactly. CTC and Buzz went above and beyond by just taking the time to call or text to see how Ayden was and how I was doing. Lots of conversations over the years and never about basketball. Many people are that way but we don't get to hear those stories enough. I never want to see anyone lose their job that why I hate that things are not moving in the right direction for CAM.

  19. So Cal can't take Crean off the schedule this time right? Honestly love it for Crean. Forgot to mention Providence beating Creighton. Should help on many levels I would think.

  22. @BGleas Do you think it’s smart for Kemba to wear the #8...I mean the last Walker #8 for Boston didn’t exactly live up to the billing imo. Just wondering....

  23. I didn't get the pleasure of watching it, but Kentucky just lost to Georgia. Good stuff right there.

  24. I would be shocked if Lavert is back for a long time if maybe at all this year. I can’t imagine this surgery will be minor considering it is attached to a vital organ and then recovery and who knows if he will need treatment to keep it from coming back...I’ll say Warren plays before him.

  25. We would be loving life. Henry plus Micah. Good grief. I feel like he will go out to west coast closer to home. Gray will have a lot of suitors. Gonna be rough to be a vol fan for a few...thank god IU is looking better otherwise my fall sports would be more painful than normal. I’m used to 1 team good and the other bad. Now it’s switched around. I’m interested to see if Salter will stick around at Qb, with the coaching change plus Bailey coming back and looking decent in what we saw last year.

  30. Looks like the Pacers is sleep walking through the first quarter. They are are down 37-25 with 30 seconds to go in the first. The Mavs had 6 uncontested layups off of double teams.

  42. Hopefully the year off helped Ball get his head back into things. As a freshman, I thought he would be a guy who might leave early for the draft, but I was pretty disappointed in his play last year. He went from 75 tackles as a freshman, to only 45 as a junior. Made a couple dumb penalties last year too. Hopefully he's ready to prove himself in his senior year. I will say, he was really good at getting to the QB on blitzes. He had a few sacks he missed, but he was about the only guy who would get pressure last year. Would have liked to have seen him with all the blitzing we did this year. He's definitely a freak athlete, so hopefully he can put together a great senior season.

  43. Here's our list of DBs/huskies for next year. Layne, Matthews, Taylor, Mullen, Burgess, Ball, Williams, Fitzgerald. That's a pretty sick 2 deep. There were a handful of younger guys who saw some time and have some promise. I know Sanguinetti has seen some play, Bonds got into some games this year as a true freshman.

  45. So we got any Jeep people here? I’ve got a 4” lifted 4-door Wrangler (looks a lot like the one in my pic but that’s a pic off google). It’s a great vehicle, can handle about any terrain with of course good ground clearance, that’s what they’re built for — but the little 6 cylinder engine is funny. Not winning any drag races in it lol (I leave that for my C63....). Have been thinking about adding better air intake and mufflers to get a little more power but haven’t— anyone fooled around some with outfitting a Jeep?
