Anytime something like this happens I always think Dan Monson and Gonzaga. Left paradise for Minnesota. Mark Few thanks him for that.4 points

Jordan Bohannon isn't exactly a towering guard and he has excelled at Iowa. If Braden is that strong of a shooter, as well as a distributor, sign me up. His rebounding numbers tell he his tough and has high basketball acumen to be in the right place for missed shots.3 points

I think the B1G this year is just a group of teams that are pretty similar in talent, experience, and a number of other things, and it's just all about matchups in individual games.3 points

I will not be surprised if MSU makes the tournament and that terrible loss doesn't end up being terrible.3 points

So apparently Underwood's greatness was a tad premature as well as Izzo's death. Smart a-- comments aside....are the Illini closer to OT wins vs Nebraska and single digit wins vs Northwestern? Or what? Not sure what to think about them. I know I'm on a crusade....or maybe it's just life in the Big 10. Tough crew to figure out.3 points

But he ended back in Paradise. Has been at Cal State Long Beach since 2007. He has an overall losing record at LB including losing seasons in 7 of the past 8. One NCAAT appearance. Last conference title was 2013. Received a contract extension in 2018. This is what his AD said at the time: “We have a head coach who matches our culture and has proven the ability to win, proven that he cares about our student-athletes graduating, and proven to run a clean and ethical program,” said Athletic Director Andy Fee in a press release. “Coach Monson is committed to returning our program to the top of the Big West Conference. I believe we are not far from that goal. I am committed to supporting Coach Monson and this team in our championship pursuits. We are very excited for next year’s recruiting class to arrive on campus and join ten returning student-athletes for what we believe will be a very strong season. Our program is in good hands with Coach Dan Monson guiding its direction.” Monson was happy with the vote of confidence from the administration. “I think this show that it’s a destination for me and my family. I’ve been here 11 years and to be able to say that we’re going to stay here for the foreseeable future is so exciting for all of us,” said Monson. “I think the other thing it says a lot about is who you’re working for. The people make the job. The commitment that president Conley and Andy Fee and the administration are making to the basketball program and the statement they are making with this contract is unbelievable and it lets me know I’m at the right place.” Ya think?2 points

They woke up last 8 minutes against us and it continued. Did you see the video of team in locker room all around Izzo celebrating. The switch has been turned on.2 points

The way they played last night, though, it might not be that much of a stretch...They dominated the Illini from start to finish...2 points

I agree. I'll take the Octoberfest all day long. My wife likes the Cold Snap so I usually have it on hand at this time of year. Fun to drink during the polar vortex if nothing else. Then it is Summer Shandy season for her. Since we are heading into March, I bought a 12 pack of Smithwicks Red Ale. I'll start into that for the game on Wed.2 points

History is littered with guy like Prohm. They have success at a small school and jump into the bigs. Steve probably would have better served to move up to the A-10(or the like).2 points

I miss Carsen. I wish he would’ve come back last year. Speaking of Ayo, I’m hoping that’s what Ivey can turn into over the next few years. I think there are some similarities in their games.2 points

Tried some new ones over the weekend while in AZ. Went to Four Peaks. Have had their kiltlifter many a times but wasn't impressed with much else. The Phoenix Beer Co, on the other hand, had a several nice ones. I saw this one and had to try it. Was surprised by how good it was. https://www.phxbeerco.com/our-beers#menu=our-beers&item=sonoran-white-chocolate-ale Even smelled like white chocolate. A really great tasting lighter beer.2 points

@Billingsley99, will be praying. Got some good news today. Turns out my stepdad had a slipped disc that was compressing a nerve that severely limited his mobility. So physical therapy and last resort disc fusion. I think it just had him down mentally not being able to get around and being cooped up from the snow didnt help. He still has some trembling from the stroke but should recover. Appreciate everyone's support.2 points

I think so too...And it starts with Aaron Henry... Boy, I wish we would have got that kid, but I understand why we didn't...1 point

The only Sam Adams that does it for me is Octoberfest. All their other beers fall short, IMO. And don't get me started on their hop forward beers. They are horrible. My friends make better IPAs with their Bed Bath and Beyond brew kits. Sorry, my inner beer snob came out.1 point

I tried Sam Adams "Cold Snap" beer last weekend and it was good but not great to me. I like the Sam Adams fall beers better.1 point

I'd ask @HoosierFaithful. I ate / drank at OSHO a year or two ago and all I remember is their patio misters made it very comfortable on a hot day, lol. Definitely recommend PHX Beer Co. 4 Peaks is the big name out there and you can get their beers all over. While not a brewery, Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers is a local chain you might want to check out. Otherwise, the area is loaded with good restaurants. I go to AZ to see clients, hike and eat.1 point

My wife and i are taking off for a long weekend in Scottsdale in May. Any other good AZ breweries to look out for.1 point

John Harrell projects Hammond with a 65% chance to make it to the State Championship game from the North in 3A. Seems like none of the other 'contenders' from that side of the bracket are really contenders. By contrast, Silver Creek is only projected with a 35% chance to make it to the Championship. In fact, he gives Silver Creek only a 68% chance to win Sectional. So, by his calculations, Hammond has almost as good a shot to make it to Indy as SC does to get out of the first round. http://scoreboard.homestead.com/boys/pix.htm#loaded1 point

Henry out Ayoed Ayo. His defense on Dosunmu was phenomenal, and he took it to Ayo on the offensive end in crunch time. I think Aaron finally got the leadership memo...1 point

I got ridiculed for saying they were looking better and figuring things out. I keep saying it’s not who you play but when you play them. We get hot Northwestern early and hot MSU late. We got struggling Iowa in the middle. In the end that Northwestern loss is awful and the MSU one is probably a toss up. I think they find a way to get in. Crazy is them and Duke might both be on the bubble and that win early might decide it.1 point

Guys like Carsen and Ayo can carry teams and cover some problems....while being phenomenal players in the moment that is the difference between getting bounced in 2nd round and making E8. I haven't watched enough of Ivey to know which one he is. I know this is the best Illinois team they've had in 16 years and I'm trying to figure out what I see. On with the crusade!1 point

Ayo did his best Carsen Edwards impression tonight. 6-18. Trying to figure out what the Illini are. Are they the 3 seed who gets beat by 14 this year? Or are they are a really good team just dealing with a tough conference. I know we gave one away to them. Guess time will tell. Good win for Sparty. Again.1 point

Tell you what. If I ever end up on death row I know fried chicken will be my last meal. Our house loves, loves fried chicken....but because of health we all only eat it about 10x a year. Usually it's Hollyhock in Indy....but you guys keep posting about fried chicken and I feel like Pookie in New Jack City. It keeps calling me man...1 point

The Rogue Audio CMIII finally arrived today. UPS dropped it off in the lobby and ignored the signature required part. Good thing the box at 60 lbs was too big for anyone to steal. I hooked it up this afternoon and had to bias the driver tubes (they provide a little screwdriver and it only took a few minutes). Have been listening to it since about 3pm and it’s really opening up in the last hour or so. I know they say components need time to break in, but this thing is already a SHOCKING improvement over my Class D integrated amp that I’ve been listening to over the last six years. I’ve been told to give it a few days or up to a couple weeks for it to really sound good, but am already just gobsmacked. Even my wife was like, “Damn, this sounds incredible.” I’ve never seen something so thin and relatively small weigh so much though. I guess that means it’s high quality and US made in Pennsylvania!1 point

Looks like Izzo changed his starting lineup tonight from who started against us. What an idea and who have thought you cod change your lineup. They put Watts and Brown into the lineup and are going small with Marble playing center.1 point

Probably, that was just term my aunt used. I've known several people that have had back procedures and if physical therapy was an option that was tried first.1 point

I'll keep this as close to board rules as I possibly can. My clients in NY knew exactly what was coming last March/April when he made those decisions. I'm actually impressed he was able to keep this quiet for 13 months but I'll stop at that to keep in line with board rules.1 point

Just ask any IU fan he sucks and he would never last at IU with those numbers. I remember back when we were looking for a new coach and shortly after CAM was hired how all our fans were bashing CMP. I won't say he is elite he is perfect fit for PU, I would gladly trade for sure1 point

I know a few Dawg fans...they ain't happy right now. They are used to winning! LOL1 point

Now, you’re talking! I’m definitely into two channel audio. Nothing huge like @hoosier_exotics has posted. I wouldn’t last a day w/o being kicked out of our building with those two subs! My current setup is a Rega TT that’s pretty modded out, going into a Peachtree Class D amp, which feeds B&W speakers. I’m about to get a full tube amp that spits out a 100 watts (which is a lot for all tubes). I’ve also got a tube headphone amp that feeds three different sets of headphones depending on my mood. Besides beer and books, music is my big hobby. I’m at the “hiding albums from my wife stage at least once” a week phase.1 point
