So your teammates reach out and say good luck at your next place. If Jerome was told to leave, that is a bit different. You don't offer congrats to someone who got dumped. Just another way to look at it other than saying his teammates were not fans.

Things are building and I'm getting comfortable with the idea of how we are building this thing. I think I mentioned in another thread. All I've ever wanted to be in football is Iowa. Every year 8-9 wins with once every 3-4 years a shot at the Rose Bowl because Ohio St is in F4. I don't want to be unrealistic with our expectations. There are still multiple programs in the conference ahead of us but at least we know we are climbing. Much better than knowing you gave someone $6M per year and they are in stuck in mud.

Had to have been. My brother's sister in law had a horrible respiratory deal in February 20 that almost hospitalized her. Loss of smell and taste, fever, fatigue. They are all convinced that was it. Oh the documentaries that will come out about this one day. Meanwhile, what are we doing about the origin and source of the virus??? It's been basically common knowledge from almost day one where this came from. How do they get a free pass? I guess the economics of retaliation isn't worth it. How do you retaliate? Maybe you can't prove it was on purpose? China has a sick regime. This virus targeted the weakest, oldest, and sickest. China has no problem eliminating their own if it benefits them. Just leaves me shaking my head.

Completely agree, and especially when Hunter himself hasn't posted anything. Most of the time when teammates post a "congrats" its a retweet or repost of that players announcement and Hunter hasn't announced anything publicly yet.

Maybe in person but not on social media. I guess in one case (Al) you are posting a celebration of their next challenge. So you can view that as a positive. "Good luck my guy, tear it up at Providence(?)" If it was true that Hunter was asked to leave, that is not like a celebratory thing. "Hey, congrats you got booted from the team..." To me that is a situation you don't put on social media. Think of it like the girlfriend. When you dump her and move on to someone else, that is something that your friends may be cool to congratulate you on. When she dumps you, that is not really a "good luck and onto the next one" you blast on social media. That is more of a private convo. Just my opinion.

There is just as many decommits in basketball. There is just infinitely more football recruits to decommit in the first place. Knock on wood. Coach Allen hasn't lost very many.

I'm in the great state of Texas for my cousin's wedding. You guys just got me so hyped reading this that I rattled off to my brother and dad all the recruiting success IU is having. I've said for 20 years if the football team could get it's act together the fans would come. I remember way back when Steve Spurrier was available, I was pissed IU wouldn't spend the money to try and get him and build a program. Thankfully we have a home grown builder. Solid foundation that just keeps building.

I should have phrased it better. My intention for asking the question was if getting vaccine will give people comfort. I'm involved in the production of these vaccines. I spent alot of my working life feeling useless, but my new job I feel gives me purpose. First time in my life I wake up and actually want to go to work. Imagine work being kinda fun.

I don’t know if I’ve posted yet, but it’s worth saying again if I have. I’m more excited for this season than any I can remember. We confirmed that our tickets have been ordered last week. I don’t know where we’ll be sitting but we will be there.

I have been married for 14 years myself. The social media stuff was around when I was dating my wife but it was not like it is today. I don't necessarily know the etiquette either, but if I got kicked off the team, I would want that I was leaving as quiet as possible. At least until I found a place to land. Honestly, I was just trying to provide an alternative to the idea he was not liked by his teammates.

In Dec 2019 my son was sicker than he has ever been. Negative for both Flu A and B. I swear it was Covid. His finance tested positive last fall and he never caught it and had to get tested every other day and they were all Negative. I think it was here.much earlier than Spring 2020.

I hope your right. A packed stadium, with most still in attendance in the 4th quarter, would go a long way in helping the momentum continue. I really hope people show up in meaningfully greater numbers this year. Like everyone else I’m very excited with what Allen is doing.

I am glad to hear that. What you are doing means the world to my family. I thank GOD everyday for all the people that have worked hard not only in dealing with COVID vaccine and treating patients but everyone that makes it possible for kids like Ayden to live and have a great life. When you have seen you child in the hospital for weeks at a time over a common cold or the flu COVID becomes your biggest fear. The vaccine does give me great comfort. I do understand that nothing is perfect but it puts us in a better place. If the vaccine helps get things closer to normal for me that's just a giant bonus. Thank you for what you do!!

It gives me a lot of comfort to fully vaccinated. Comfort and hope.

I want IU to be a football team that no one feels comfortable with being on their schedule. That they know a tough, hard fought game is coming. When we can be that, we have a chance to have exceptional seasons. The king (OSU) is only the king until someone knocks them off the throne. And someone always does. Might as well be IU.

My Mother, who resides in assisted living, and I are both fully vaccinated (me Pfizer, she Moderna). Due to that, I’ll be able to fly to Indiana and see her for the first time since March of last year. Also, my wife and I are able to go out and be more social. It’s a relief for both of us. My wife will travel to see her family next month.

That's the one ESPN I don't have unfortunately. Go Hoosiers!!!

Seeing reports that Vic having season ending knee surgery, and that he could be out for all or most of next year.

Just getting caught up on this. Absolute huge to get a guy of this caliber out of South Florida. As others said earlier Heritage is as big as STA. Shoot they just had 6 players drafted from same high school class. Can't tell you how absolutely huge this could be for us and future recruiting if we can start pulling in kids and they do well from those types of programs.

My thoughts exactly. Also why I said I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I think if we can sustain this momentum, and keep improving recruiting, we at least have the opportunity to supplant UM and PSU over the next decade. Not going to be easy though. OSU is a whole different beast, but if we could get to the point where beat them 1 out of every 3 years, I'd be ecstatic. I also am assuming that Allen stays and the administration does what it has to in order to keep him.

Haha I had the same thought. It probably dates us both. By the way, he was on one of my wife and my favorite shows of recent vintage, The Americans. Fascinating show. Thomas was in a supporting role.

I just want to do everything that I can to protect Ayden. God gave him to us to protect and 11 years ago we were told he would only have 6 months to live if all went well We serve an amazing GOD and he decided differently and entrusted us to do what we feels is best for Ayden. I want some piece of mind and to stop worrying every time he gets a cough or runny nose or a bad headache. This vaccine might not give me those because we have been through so much but a little piece of mind would be much appreciated.

It's getting hard to contain my excitement for what this program is turning into! We keep this up and retain Allen when the blue bloods start offering, and we could turn into a perennial top ten team. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but we have a great coaching staff, on-field results, and our recruiting has just been on overdrive. Gotta keep that momentum!

With the importance of analytics becoming more and more evident, maybe there should be some analytics done regarding the posters on this board. Things like what time of day posters are most active. Who interacts most with who. Efficient/non-efficient use of emojis, like the coffee drinker. Posters giving out or receiving the most likes/ thanks/ or other feedback. Certain this would be valuable mod fodder. I nominate @IU Scottto head up this endeavor!
