Going to be interesting on Rizzo. He came out yesterday saying he's one of the guys who has chosen not to be vaccinated. Obviously there's going to be blowback not only from fans....but his teammates because they have to do certain protocols until 85% rate is hit. He cited personal reasons. Not sure if that's because of being a former cancer survivor.....or maybe he's just saying I'm a young world class athlete and I don't need it. I bring this up because Jed was not happy at all with Cubs players who chose not to be vaccinated. Could be something to watch as we approach trade deadline. I can see it now. Cubs trade Rizzo because he won't get vaccinated! Haha.

I'd say most of the time it's the optimism factor. If you think your team is going to be in the hunt for a playoff spot, you're going to be a buyer. If not, your a seller. Takes time during the season to determine that. Also, the urgency on both sides to negotiate in earnest isn't going to be there until the deadline for both buyers and sellers. If you're trying to shed payroll, you're asking price is coming down the closet the deadline gets.

That's just dumb. It's an all star game. He should play his game....within the confines of the team of course but to tell the kid that has scored more points than any other player in Indiana HS history outside 3 dudes to not play his style of basketball that is just dumb. People I assume come to watch kids do what they do best. Luke is an incredible shooter that can put on a show from any spot on the floor. People didn't pay to watch Caleb Furst jack 3's. I mean it looked like Blackman didn't have problems chucking it lol. Maybe it was just Brown differing I didn't see the game but a kid that scored over 3,000 pts in HS should take more than 4 shots in an exhibition game....especially won played in the 120's. Someone should tell him they paid to watch him shoot.

Yeah, we likely will. If we get 14, we will need to stick with 1 league. You can't really split that in two. But, once you get to 16, that's really too many for a single league. Ideally, for two league we'll have 20-24. That way both league can be 10-12 teams.

Take the basketball program out of it. It’s nice, but probably out of whack for many. We all lived in McNutt, the Villas, etc,, but college was a significant expense and you kind of expected to live a spartan existence. But with the cost of tuition becoming absurd and disproportionate, the developers of Evolve, and no doubt places like it elsewhere, came up with a very smart business proposition. Tuition goes up, hence student loans just keep driving up. Take advantage of the situation by developing expensive luxury apartments for students who want amenities and can just put it on their tabs.

I’ll have to snap some pics tomorrow, but I never appreciated how hard it is to grow grass. And no, not kind. We moved into a new house in December, and the builder had the great idea to seed/straw the yard in friggin November. And our lot has a pretty good slope to it. Yep, you can imagine how that turned out. So far this spring, I’ve installed downspouts on all the gutters that make their way into about 150’ of French drains, brought in 30 cubic yards of fill dirt to go halfway level things out, tilled the entire yard and put down new seed. Oh and at the wife’s behest, planted a bunch of flowers and $&!&. Because apparently that stuff is important. 🤣

Until the trade deadline....Cubs have been moving Ben Leeper up very, very quickly. After the last couple of years every move I'm looking at I'm dissecting three times on what it actually means. I could see us moving Kimbrel come end of July and calling this kid up.

Funny enough all the sportswriters and commentators are like so sad this will be the first finals in like forever that Lebron isn't playing in it and I'm like "HECK YEAH!".
