Conversation overheard at the grocery this morning. Young Boy: "Dad, which baseball team has lost more games this year, the Reds or the Cardinals?" Father: "The Cardinals have lost more." Young Boy: "Wow. So the Cardinals are even bigger losers than the Reds?" Father: "Yep. I guess they are."3 points

Good type of busy. Got a promotion at work, plus moved into a new house in December. January-March was filled with unpacking crap, replacing lights, installing fans, installing shelves and other organizational stuff, assembling furniture, reinstalling all my network and home automation, etc etc. And just when all of that is settled, it’s time for the outside stuff. Sanding and staining a previously unfinished deck, installing about 150’ of French drains, installing an exterior lighting system, leveling, tilling and seeding a yard (that the builder decided to seed and straw in November 🙄), landscaping, building a low wall around a planting bed and supervising a concrete contractor doing a driveway and patio extension. Oh, almost forgot about the 3 days I spent on designing a shock absorption system for a 2nd floor laundry room. Tip: if you’re ever building or renovating a house with a 2nd floor laundry and plan on having a front load washer, reinforce the floors like they’ll be supporting a division of Abrams tanks. Front load washers generate enough force to cause vibrations that will shake hanging light fixtures on the floor below. Since ripping up a brand new floor wasn’t an option, I built my own custom vibration damping system: a platform that extended out 2” on any side of the footprint the washer and dryer take up. From the bottom up: 1/8” rubber gasket material against the existing flooring, followed by 3/4” sub flooring, followed by 3/16 high density fiberboard, followed by vinyl flooring to match. The width of the platform spreads the force over a larger area, with the rubber absorbing some of the vibrations before they pass through the floor. The HDF prevents the feet of the washer from sinking in to the subfloor over time. Next up will be more drainage to connect the end of my drains with the local storm sewer, Funny you mention tablets. Strange quirk about me (one of many). I refuse to own a tablet. Why? Because it can’t completely replace either my laptop or my phone, so it’s just another device to lug around.3 points

I thought this was kind of funny. I bet he takes another unofficial visit next weekend...and the weekend after that...and the one after that.2 points

If, at the end of the year, the only prediction I have right is the Cardinals finishing 4th in the Central, I will consider it successful.2 points

Stat of the day. Nick Castellanos and Jesse Winker have the top two batting averages in all of MLB, and neither has benefitted from hitting against the Reds bullpen.2 points

So, How is that Fearless Forecaster doing as of June 13th? See. above. Predictions listed first. Ties are listed in order as they appear on ESPN. Best Division - NL Central (cumulative deviation score of 0) Worst Division - NL East (cumulative deviation score of 10)2 points

This may explain why Siakim's shot has not improved. Torn labrum might do it https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/31612429/toronto-raptors-pascal-siakam-undergoes-shoulder-surgery-miss-five-months2 points

Hey All, Natty, UpperArlington, and I are going to the Sept 18th game vs Cincy, and would love to get a tailgate/get together with other board members! It’s a 12et/11ct kickoff, and I would get there early to set up shop for everyone to come by. I don’t know if I plan to do much food, but if people want to chip in then we can get people fed and drink the day away. Please let me know if you can make it, because I will at least get snacks and some drinks for everyone. Hope to see a lot of you there, and I will posted this on BTB as well.1 point

If the Cubs make the World Series my brain will implode on 2 levels. First I'll obviously be ecstatic....but on the flip side I'll say where in the world was this the past 3 seasons. Haha. The Chicago sports fan way. Never happy.1 point

Look...people have been complaining about empty seats at AH for years...Woody is just doing what he promised to do....fill the place up again and bring some passion lol! Nothing will do that more than a bunch of assistant managers yelling at the players lol.1 point

There is so much wrong with this I don't know where to start. Most of Crean's players LOVE the guy. They still stay in touch, often. The AAU coaches hating Crean is so overblown, and frankly not at all accurate. Patterson did himself dirty, fact. Sheehey did not despise him, fact. Will and I hung out with some of the same people and we interacted often. Fischer didn't fit with the roster so he went elsewhere, and Vonleh only looked out for himself, not sure what Crean could have done there. Just because you have something against Crean doesn't mean you have to bring up internet rumors to try to prove that your hatred is warranted. Because in reality, Crean is a good coach. A bit quirky, but what he did for our University was actually very appreciated by many.1 point

Exactly. Why some still need to pile on after all these years is baffling. Especially when he reached levels of success here in his best years that his successor never came close to achieving.1 point

I know there is lots of hate for him in the IU community, but I will always root for him. I always liked the guy. I'm not saying he shouldn't have been fired here but I will always appreciate the dark days he weathered for this program.1 point
