  1. IU fans tend to over exaggerate the talent on the team. We have seen this and had this same discussion every summer for the last several years.

  2. Hey guys long time lurker here and decided to finally make an account after seeing some of my tweets shared. Glad you all have enjoyed the nuggets I am able to share from time to time. I'm not always going to be the first to report something, I normally try to wait until I hear the same thing from 2 sources. I have a lot of trust in my sources, and for anyone with doubts I would like to point out that we had the scoop on Charlton Warren and the DC interviews way before anyone else.

  9. I mean Xavier, OSU, Kansas State, etc. have offered as well. I mean his team beat Moeller who has multiple D1 players this year. I am sure that 35 Indiana kids have teams that think that highly of him. Yet people on here drool over a kid who went away from big basketball to chase a scoring title instead of playing big boy ball and couldn’t beat a team of this caliber. Also, this kid is doing things on the AAU circuit unlike those 35 other Indiana kids. Boards can be so delusional at times.

  10. Let's do our best to keep Curry talk in his thread or the 2022 Class thread.. This one is for our 5th highest rated recruit ever!!!

  14. I was excited when Wilson hired Hagan to be on the IU staff. He did a good job at PU and I expected another Ryan Kerrigan type impact player. By the time he left for Texas A&M I wasn't all that sad. He was fine at IU but never really blew me away with the development of our Dlineman. I know most Purdue fans hold him in high esteem and I understand why. He just never lived up to expectations at IU in my opinion. I have been impressed with his replacement Kevin Peoples so far.

  15. The bolded part is why people give Purdue fans crap. Cooper would be your highest rated recruit this year, higer than anybody last year, and the 2nd highest in the previous class. He would have been the 11th highest rated recruit ever for PU on 247. He's also from Indiana, and has family ties to PU. Purdue didn't back off of him. He lost interest in PU. It happens to every school every year. Let's just call a spade a spade and not pull the PU backed off card.

  22. Boom! That's the one I've been waiting on. Weaver doesn't put in picks unless he's 100%.

  23. The Cubs are who we thought they were in preseason. I agree with most of what you posted, except if you can sign Baez to long term deal for decent $ I would sign keep him (and Contreras) in the long term plans. You can always extend Contreras and trade him down the line or move him to outfield if one of the catching prospects develops into legit starting catching material. We've already discussed this at great lengths the past few years, but they should have traded Bryant a long time ago for a haul...now I don't have the confidence that the front office will get much back in return...but they have to try. Otherwise, he most likely walks for nothing after the season with Borass representing him. And I never understood why the front office always seemed to have so much confidence in Happ. He showed flashes, but also looked terrible for long stretches. Maybe they can trade him for plane fare out of town?

  26. Illinois I can understand what with the coaching turnover. Brohm was supposed to be the second coming. Goes to show that an ugly campus, with heifer coeds, in a town with no personality are too much for him to overcome in today’s world. Who is gonna pony up for any PUke athletes and the NIL? The FFA?

  27. New coaching staff, head coach new to college bball, and it's a team coming off a sub-0.500 season that also lost some of its top scorers/best shooters. This following 4 straight seasons of mediocre or worse play. I'm not surprised they're not receiving the benefit of the doubt. They can be near the top of the B1G but there are plenty of question marks. It remains to be seen if they will.

  33. Your absolute disdain for all things Purdue is inspiring. The little brother, chip on their shoulder act gets real old. Claiming they backed off high level recruits that wouldn't go there is juvenile. We won't get every high level recruit from Indiana, but without a direct family connection or specific major IU lacks, I don't see them beating CTA for many recruits. The momentum we have, and playing in the B1G East should be a huge advantage.

  34. Just the beginning down there. $6k per player per year....tip of the iceberg and I love it as a Canes fan. Edit-I'll also add this. Manny said last year that at least 2/3 of his team sent most if not all of their monthly stipends home to Mom to pay rent, utilities turned on, food, etc.....this $500 per month is the lottery to many of these guys.

  35. This is football but still NIL related. Miami scholarship players could each receive $500/month from a single company for endorsements. Since it's a football roster, that works out to quite a bit of money over time from the company. $500/month isn't going to make them rich but it's just a single deal and more than they were allowed to get before July 1. https://sports.yahoo.com/florida-company-offers-540-k-worth-of-nil-endorsement-deals-to-all-miami-scholarship-football-players-183415305.html

  37. UK giving pay raises enticing "student-athletes" with their facilities and educational prowess is going to happen anyway. If it makes those orange and blue bastards cry a little....well, that makes it at least somewhat enjoyable. Also, with all this conversation about Cockburn.....what ever happened to old Isaac Haas?

  39. My order would be something like this. 1) Heyward can't play everyday again here. Trade him for anything because they'll have to cover a good chunk of his salary. He's just not good in Chicago. Maybe a fresh start but for us...he needs to be sat. 2) Kimbrel is next because he's probably holding the most trade value as playoff contenders start to figure out what they need. 3) Rizzo. You don't resign aging guys unless it's a very good number. After this is gets tricky for me. 4) Bryant....if you can get a good haul for him. Wish his average didn't drop as much this past month...but he still holds a ton of talent/trade value. 5) Contreras and Baez are tough ones to figure out. Defensively they are some of the best going. We've got young arms coming up in the farm system and would like to keep Contreras around for them. Baez? Best defensive SS in the game who refuses to change his approach. Contract coming up....probably best to move him too. Release Happ too.

  40. I got a chance to talk to the biggest Cub fan I know over the holiday week-end. Aside from understandably being pissed about his Cubbies he agrees with you about the purge. His opinion is that Rizzo should be the first to go.

  41. Yeah I personally want no part of him on the Pacers but that is definitely the minimum his value would be IMO.
    1 point
  42. Yeah, I wasn't advocating for the Pacers to trade for Simmons. I was just saying Brogdon and a 1st rounder for Simmons 8s not an unrealistic deal and the Pacers, if they wanted him, would not get him for less than that.

  43. Losing Wieskamp certainly hurts the Hawkeyes, but I think his replacement, Keegan Murray, will be one of the B1G's breakout players this year...
