  1. Totally agreed. I could care less what school’s hat or shirt he’s wearing. Coach was born in Ohio and played his college ball for OSU which shows his lasting respect for the state. With that being said,….in 2019, 19 years after being fired from IU, Coach moved back to Bloomington…..a place where his heart never left.

  2. The man is retired...imo he can wear IU,OSU,TT or Army all have been a part of his life and got him to where he is today....Dakich even having comments about what he wears is ridiculous.

  3. Knowing this was one Crean wanted at GA also makes me discount current rankings. Crean has a bit of a knack for finding talent flying under the radar.

  4. Banks fits the program CMW and his staff have said they want to build. He's a shooter, can get up and down the court, guard multiple positions, handle the ball, and I've seen multiple references to his toughness. He's going to be able to do a lot of things well once he learns the system. The fact he's already 215 lbs means he will likely be 225+ by the time he steps on the court. Some will get caught up in the rankings. I would only be concerned if they bring in guys that do not fit what they have already defined as the type of player they are looking to add. Weclome to Kaleb and his family. Great job CMW and your coaching staff.

  6. I know the feeling. Along with the NIL, the fanfare around commitment announcements and the one & done rule, among other things, I've come to the conclusion that the college game I grew up with ain't coming back. Only time will tell if I will enjoy the new product enough to keep following it.

  8. I agree. I was personally starting to get a little worried. Its just great to see him out and about.

  9. It's mind bottling that I'm not "through the roof" right now. Ya know? Oh hum... top 250 player from a Cinci power is committing soon. We saw this coming though.. our recruiting has been on an "uptick" since 2013 (Fant, Latham, Antonio Allen). Took 8 years... but my goodness we've arrived.

  10. I'd say we can basically toss rankings out the window for the most part with the 22 class. So little data to go off of. I'd say it's more about identifying guys like you said that fit your system and not worry about a relative number. I can imagine there are going to be some big misses in that class and several under the radar kids that come out of nowhere. I think it important that we are going after guys we have had a lot of contact with through our assistants and have even worked directly with them. I feel content we will find quality players to add to our team.

  11. Went to the Padres/Nats game in San diego on the 5th. I am glad to see them doing good snce they lost the Chargers. That place rocks when they are good. Nats beat them but had great seats behind home though we landed a table in the bar just a few rows up behind our seats.

  12. When coach dons a UK or PU hat...then we can talk. Happy that coach is still healthy and getting about! Happy that these guys/gals got a chance to interact with a man that helped cement IU's legacy in college basketball.

  17. You should listen, no one is a bigger authority on being an ass. Dakich once wore OSU gear and stood on the OSU sideline during an IU homecoming game. Dakich wearing anything is Dakich being an ass.

  22. I think in RMK's mind he is no longer associated with Indiana University, but has embraced the basketball program. In general I'm OK with that. It was his period of turning his back on the players and team that rubbed me the wrong way and that seems to be water under the bridge now. As one who is inherently cynical about large institutions (corporations, education, governments) I think there's plenty to be disenchanted with - Miles Brand, BOT, etc specifically.

  23. I don't know if this comedic relief or what....but I have to have the 2 smelliest garbage cans in all of Central Indiana going. Summer heat, weekend of beer/food/leftover sweet corn/rotisserie chicken......I just went to Kroger and bought bleach, dryer sheets, baking soda, cleaning vinegard and dumped all of it in both totes. Good Lord!!

  24. I hope one day that after hearing how Coach reacted when Hammel told him they were going to Indianapolis "to see Mike play" (when he found out it was Jordan and not Woodson RMK informed Hammel that there was only one Mike in Indiana basketball circles and that his name was Woodson) that Coach Woody tells people when he's identified as simply "Coach" and not "Coach Woodson" that there's only one "Coach" in Indiana basketball circles...

  25. Very well said. I really would like to see coach at least 1 more time. Hear a story that he has shared many a time and share that with Ayden. People can say what they want love or hate the man but some people we encounter are just bigger than life and Coach was one of those people to me. I shared with Ayden a story coach shared about drinking his Arnold Palmer and now that is Ayden's favorite drink. He was at a used book store and bought me a copy of a book about Coach Knight and was so excited to give it to me. I did not have the heart to tell him I have 2 other copies of it. Coach was for lack of a better word as hero in my eyes and then Ayden came along and HE became my true HERO. Would love for Ayden to meet Coach even if to just say hi

  26. If all you have in your life is sports...then I suppose you could find yourself in crisis with how the major sports leagues are acting and what the college landscape is becoming. As for myself and I assume most others....it's just another Monday....and life goes on. I suspect this will have a negligible impact on my life. I do enjoy sports...and I think they are crucially important for our youth in crafting great life lessons and building character and being a positive influence for their life...but beyond that I totally agree in your sarcasm. This means little to nothing in the grand scheme of things. I suspect what will happen is a couple leagues will grow and grow until they get so big and impossible to run and full of corruption and abuse by those at the top of the league that members then decide to break away and form up smaller conferences again and this all resets lol.

  31. Agreed. We all have seen the deterioration in his health...combine the pandemic etc and well we've lost a lot of fine people in the past year. Life is very fragile. Shouldn't be hard to appreciate what we have now because it could be gone in the blink of an eye. I think it's great to see him touch another generation of Hoosiers.

  35. Got an alert ony phone and now on another site talking about UM and OSU is talking with the SEC. Also mentioned Clemson and FSU as well so are they just going to be one super conference. Are they going to have all the top football programs in one conference. To me I don't know why these schools all want to be in the same conference. Unless they think they will still get the majority of the spots when they expand the playoffs.
