  1. EJ may have only been at IU the one year, but he's a great ambassador for the program...

  2. Any chance this board can show some class and not pile on CAM? The guy was here 4 years and brought in some great talent. Didn't work out. CMW may be the answer, but he is working with a lot of the talent brought in by the previous staff. Let Archie be.

  4. Mike Woodson after the game on Kopp's ankle....Sh-- he'll be alright. Love this guy. I think every single one of us over the last 2 decades haven't mentioned Woodson as a legit candidate. I'll be the first one to say how wrong I've been....at least up to this point.

  6. Don't want get over hyped- Parker is only going to shoot better, he always has. Others will as well! Durr has not seen the court. Full offense not instituted yet.....wow, going to be exciting.

  7. Looks like this team already has an identity -- hard-nosed defense. CMW reminds me a lot of CBK, but without the control-freak emotional baggage. CMW very comfortable in his own skin.

  8. Really solid 2 game performance. Such valuable time together with games vs legit competition and the practices too. Looks to me like we have 4-5 guys besides TJD that can score when they want. Can't wait for this season....but now we focus on JHS recruitment and Indiana Football!

  9. And despite his $160M in earnings....in the summer you can still find him shooting jumpers at JCC in Indy. If there was one player I wish could have come along at a different time it was him. Such a great guy and like you said...ambassador for the program.

  10. Have no idea who any of the Pacers players are. Nothing is impossible. You put things in absolutes, and that is simply not the case. Archie did not live up to expectations, but don't forget that he had multiple injuries to deal with. I am not here to say that CAM should have been kept on. I just think that the piling on is enough, and this fanbase could show a little more class than it is.

  11. I very much doubt he reads this board so he's not going to get his feelings hurt. He was also paid quite well during those 4 years so it's not like he he was doing it purely for his love of IU. He's not above criticism and I see no reason fans shouldn't be able to talk about what a bad coach he was for IU.

  12. Yep, I am of the OK Boomer generation, but I do think I have this internet thing figured out. It is way more fun dissing on you Toiletmakers. Not "worked up" at all. I get "worked up" over things like Medicare, Depends, Metamucil, and Viagra😅 Little brother stuff is, as another poster on here says, "shew",

  13. I'd say the years between 1973 and 1996 (when RMK won the last of his Big 10 championships and Brian Evans was a senior) would be considered The Golden Era of IU basketball...

  14. And that’s my whole point. What good does it do to continue to pile on a guy who has been gone for 5 months? It only makes us, as a collective fan base, look petty and vindictive. Yes , he didn’t live up to expectations. Yes, he was paid handsomely for his time at IU. I get it, he has not come out and made a public statement thanking Hoosier Nation for their support during his tenure. To those that want to continue to criticize, have you ever thanked an employer who fired you? Bottom line for me is, why can’t we be the bigger or better person?

  15. Since we are heading to Maryland for a couple of weeks, I installed a drip irrigation system for our terrace today. Used main 1/2” black tubing to blend in with the railing and then got a kit with transfer barbs, smaller drip lines, and plugs. Only took me a couple hours to lay tubing to all of the remaining 70 or so pots. Had also purchased a programmable timer and set it for 15 minutes of irrigation at 6am and 6pm daily. Since we are leaving early tomorrow morning, I had to make sure I was done before 6pm today and then was waiting with baited breath to make sure the timer and all my tubing and connections worked. All systems are go! Will be nice not to have to worry about our plants while we are gone. I need to clean up some of the tubing, you can see some in the far background that I didn’t have a way to pin up and keep out of site. I ran out of fasteners.

  16. 100%. Take the Brad aspect out. I admit I was fixated on guys like Chris Beard because I had tunnel vision toward college coaches who impressed me. Woody was too far out of the box to that way of thinking but in hindsight I needed to hear his “voice,” what he believes in, and how he carries himself. It’s Dolson’s job to go to that next level and talk to guys like Woody. To Dolson’s credit, he was impressed. I think Woody knows what he wants on the floor, he’s highly experienced in X’s and O’s (frankly at the big boy level compared to what he will see here), but he also knows how to push buttons and get through to his guys. Just today, we hear the quotes about him telling Jordan to relax, or his assessments of players. I’m loving it. This is IU basketball after a hiatus.

  17. Frustrating to try and piece together what's going on through stats and play by play transcript, but... There have been a couple of time in these two games we've had a double digit lead and Mega BC has cut it to 4 it 5...and so far we've responded by going on a run of our own to get it back to double digits... That didn't happen with this group before...

  19. I was told my receiving core was weak. Yep....Adams, Allen, Kelce and their collective 450 targets last year is weak Yahoo. Good luck to everyone! Never like drafting early but glad we did. Gives me a chance to get a feel for where guys are going.

  20. I give Yahoo draft summaries a C-. Haha They called this a reach pick for me last year when Lockett ultimately scored 284 and was the 11th best WR in FF. The same guy who has finished in the top 15 the last 3 years. It’s crazy that every year this guys ADP is like 10-20 spots too low. I’ll take Lockett all day in the 4th. All DAY! 😎

  21. I will say this. Kev and I were in both HSN drafts. They were totally different. I bet there were 2-3 round differences on some players, and I'm not talking about scrubs.

  24. I know someone who was lucky enough to go to the game. His thoughts…. -Scoop is a pro. -Kopp will start every game. -Our defense is going to be “tremendous”. -TJD potentially NPOY. -Free throws still need work. -The energy around the team is “drastically different” than last year. The players and staff are all in. Seem like they really gel together. -Lander looked better but still not sure he will get a ton of time. Rob, Scoop, and X will handle the point. -Race is Race. He will be very important to this team. Seems like he and Kopp are the “vocal leaders”, as well as X. X was in foul trouble but his presence on the bench was felt. He’s a very mature person and player. Edit: “Jordan Geronimo looks like a NFL player. He is massive!”

  26. I don't think they will jump - those three combine academics and athletics as their identity. Personally, I think there is an over reaction to this SEC thing - they took two teams from a struggling conference. Yes, two money makers with football with an idenity, but two from a struggling conference. B1G holds the power and the SEC is actually trying to respond to them. Football is on the rise again in the B1G even with the likes of IU and Rutgers. My question is does an alliance hold the B1G back? The research dollars and athletic dollars and shares resources only grows with growth. Get USC, Colorado, Kansas - be America's conference spanning from east to west through the midwest. Have to think something is in play and B1G tight lipped. Personally, would love to see UCLA as the world knows that brand.

  27. My uncle use to be the head boiler room guy at Chanute AFB in the early 70s. Always cracked me up that there was a head shop outside of every gate at Chanute... One of my roomies in the USAF was from GC...then when I went to Greenland, I was playing volleyball with a mixed group of Danes and Americans, and one guy (RCA tech) had a Gibson City Greyhounds t-shirt on...he'd graduated with my roomie...small world I guess...

  30. I've been fired twice, and each time ended up better off. The first time worked out well for about 6 years. Long story the second firing come from an unqualified manager, @btownqbcould help give some info on how much Rose Acres sucks with nepotism. I'm so much better off now. The only jobs I've truly succeeded at are the ones I done for myself.

  31. Agree. You got Mike Davis for a steal. I was going to take him the round before you got him, but prefer a WR in my flex spot. So, I took Tee Higgins instead. I was definitely going to take him if he came back around to me.

  32. It's been a weak year for storms around here, maybe one of the weakest I can remember. But yesterday, there was only a 20% chance of rain, and I had 3 storms roll through in succession. When the last one ended, it was near sunset, and I stood out on the patio listening to the water drip from everywhere while seeing an awesome sunset. Sometimes it's not always the big storms that give you the best moments.

  33. Not to deter this convo but Covid is here to stay…likely forever. Vaccinated are getting it and passing it. Masks have limited protection when most people transmit it asymptotically and from family member to another. This virus is too transmissible to be stopped and will be like the flu virus and just move from one hemisphere to another. Heck even if we do find a true vaccine it can move to animals as a host to survive before returning in a new variant that will get by vaccines. Luckily over time viruses mutate to be more transmissible but all get less lethal. Unless people plan to get Covid shots every year (good luck we couldn’t get people to get flu shots) and even then it won’t stop it. We might as well get used to living with it and worry about those with co-morbidities and older folks and the rest of us get back to our lives. Vaccines are great but with a virus that changes this rapidly will always be chasing our tail. More emphasis should be on therapeutics imo.

  34. Not sure anyone suggested that you owe anything to CAM or the program. Not sure anyone asked him to thank us for supporting the team during his tenure. is it that hard to be the better person and not take the easy out by piling on him? The whole, “he got paid handsomely “ argument speaks of a snarky fan base who just won’t let the guy be. He gave 4 years of his life. Results were not what was expected. He knows that. Have you always succeeded in every job you have had?

  35. If you haven't already found it, Yahoo provides a nice Draft recap. You can even see the recaps for the other players. The one for the 2nd draft tonight is not published yet, but here is a little nugget from @bluegrassIUrecap that I found interesting. Week 7 could be a rude awakening for Blue, as they have five players on a bye (Dak Prescott, Kirk Cousins, Najee Harris, Greg Zuerlein, and Tony Pollard). Your Week 7 opponent, 5fouls, won't be nearly as hamstrung with only two players (Diontae Johnson and Amari Cooper) on a bye. LOL that the autodraft (I'm assuming) selected two QBs for Blue and they have the same bye week.

  36. I’m not at home and not used to drafting from my iPad. I missed seeing a majority of the picks people made because only one window is open. I missed that Barkley slid to 10. I’m playing you on the first week and you team looks killer…you grabbed a lot of the guys I was targeting. I like yours @Seeking6 and @Steubenhoosier’s teams. That said, I’m not really thrilled about my team. Haha.

  39. Has he thanked IU or the fans for the opportunity and apologized for not living up to the coaching standard set for this program? Maybe he did and I missed it but I don’t feel like I owe Archie anything. I made tons of excuses for him while he was here…I’m not going to live the rest of my life continuing to do it. Anyways I don’t think it is classless to state the obvious and be grateful we don’t have him coaching us anymore.
