  1. If I'm remembering this correctly... We were down 11 with under 4 minutes, and 6 with under 30 seconds and sent the game to OT We were down 2 with under a minute in OT and had a chance to win on the last possession. We were down 4 with under 30 seconds in double OT and tied the game. I'm disappointed we lost, but that is the most telling takeaway about this team from last night IMO.

  2. I didn't read this thread but here are my two thoughts: Archies team would have lost this game by 30. The announcers are still massaging the Boeheims balls. They talked about them 99% of the game. Pathetic.

  3. Encouraging loss. We showed so much more than we have in years. And the room to grow is limitless. Hate losing, it stings. But I like where we are going.

  4. Woody says the point guards main job is to "run the team." I honestly thought Rob did the best job of that, and Khristian was second...I didn't think XJ had a particularly good game... It had to be tough for Lander to sit there for 39 minutes, then get pitched into the fray...did he make some mistakes? Yes, he did...but he also made some plays...he hadn't sulked on the bench, he was ready when Woody called his number... Goes a long way with me... And listening to CMW's post game, I think we're fine...

  5. We got embarrassed in the first half. Our coach made adjustments and the team responded, hell of a game and makes me excited for the future!

  6. Sucks to lose, but I stand by that IU was the better team. Not normally into moral victories, but proud of IU for the fight in coming back and especially the end of regulation. Lots of work to do on the sloppy turnovers.

  7. I guess my point is, everyone is disappointed about the loss. But getting beat in double overtime by Syracuse or any reputable program with a hall of fame coach is not a bad loss, especially with a new coach and a new team. TOs can be cleaned up. Defense has been good up until this game. It’s their first real road game, a lot to learn but a lot to be optimistic about too. We have some shooters finally and some leadership.

  8. I totally agree… Rob came in and really helped the team when they needed him. All this talk about “not caring to ever see Rob on the floor again” is total bulls**t!!! The kid knows his role and is just trying build back confidence, strength and how to help this team…. Some of these negative posts about Rob are just ridiculous!!

  9. The loss sucks but I am so damn excited to see IU compete again ! Last year and several before it, they would have lost that game by 30 points. This game will provide dividends down the road, I’m sure of it.

  10. What an exciting game. I love our fight. Lots of guys getting high pressure minutes. Some handled it, some didn't. Trayce was a BEAST. Take care of the ball and win. Syracuse played their best game of the year by far. Proud of this team. We'll be in more big games soon enough.

  11. God, who gives a rat’s ass what Purdue does. The day that IU lowers itself to the point that the Smellermakers are the standard is the day they can lower me into my grave. @ephulgive it up.

  12. IU won the battle, but lost the war… IU was the better team despite giving up 25 turnovers and two impact starters fouling out. IU broke Syracuse’s defense in the second half and scored at will, inside and out, but handed them the game with turnovers and fouls. This team is miles and miles ahead of the past several years with exception to the turnovers…I’m very proud, encouraged and excited! Go IU!

  13. What a wild game. This team has got heart. Lots to fix but a lot to be encouraged about. Lander made a few mistakes, but made some great passes and hit a huge three. I think this is going to be much more fun season than we've had in a while.

  14. My stomach dropped when I saw Trayce on the floor and being helped off the court. I was tremendously relieved when he was able to return to the game a short time later. Despite the tough loss, IU wins because TJD was fine.

  15. 25 turnovers and we went into double overtime. This team can be good. But also they will have some bad games. Gotta take the highs with the lows.

  18. Last night was the most fun that I have had watching Indiana Basketball since Romeo and Juwan and Co beat Mich state. I don't think I had watched a full game until last night. Ayden and I stayed up watched yelled had a great time. I have not had the opportunity or desire to watch like that since Oakley and I would watch with Vic, Cody and Yogi. The apathy is gone

  20. There were several times in the second half where Suhr would incredulously say, "You've got to be kidding me". For example, towards the end when Race fouled out on the perimeter but got hit in the head by the Cuse player swinging his arm back, Suhr matter-of-factly said, "they'll review it and it could be a flagarant 1". But not only did they not review it, ESPN didn't even show a replay. I thought the ESPN broadcast was awful and it's sad to see how far that network has fallen over the past 20 years.

  21. What a college basketball game. I don't like losing but this is one of the very few times after a loss that I am not real upset. One other game was 93-94 game at KU where we lost in 2ot and KU hit a last second shot. Maybe I am just at a stage in my life that I am not going to let losses like this ruin my day like it use to. I just proud of this team and the fight they showed to come back. They got knocked down and was early but they got up and landed some punches back. There is a lot to take a at from this game to be encouraged about. Kopp and Stewart stepped up their game and hit their 3's. TJD was his usual self and had another great game. I would hope we don't see Rac and Trace combine for 13 turnovers in another game. We shot 55 percent overall and 40 from 3 and 73 from the line. We will take that anyway. It is obvious the difference to ight was the turnovers and that had to be corrected. The thing is that cleaning up turnovers is something that can be changed.

  22. Going to throw the flag on this one, only because I come from the other side of the coin. I WISH I had been diagnosed with ADHD as a kid, but I wasn’t until the age of 30. But, my grades never suffered so why bother, right? ADHD is a very common condition to misunderstand. It’s not simply “fidgeting”. It’s taxing on your brain to have to tell yourself to constantly focus. There’s also the common co-morbidities of anxiety and depression, which are both tied to the ADHD brain’s lack of/rapid processing of dopamine. Fortunately, mine only came with depression, but it’s not uncommon for both to be present. Those co-morbidities can lead to a lack of socialization, inability to regulate emotions, isolation….any of these starting to sound like familiar traits associated with acts of violence? ADHD medication isn’t the evil that it’s made out to be. It doesn’t turn you into a crack fiend. You don’t get “addicted”. I take the most evil of the evil: instant release Adderall. I’ve taken the exact same dose every day for over 3200 consecutive days, no changes. Find an “addict” with that much consistency. And downing a couple of pills a day is all it takes to transform me from a depressed, overly sensitive space cadet into a normal human being. Sorry for the sermon, but that’s obviously a hot button topic for me. Is ADHD misdiagnosed in some kids? Sure. But don’t just assume that ADHD is some kind of made up or overblown problem. I can assure you, it is absolutely a real condition in which there are just as many people that don’t get diagnosed when they should be, as there are misdiagnoses. Edit: My wife was also diagnosed as an adult. We’ve known for awhile that our kids would likely have it. Our 10 year old was just diagnosed this year, and yes, we started him on medication, and it’s made a world of difference. We’re waiting before starting our 8 year old, but it’s only a matter of when.

  23. I don't usually complain about the officiating, but after seeing an over the back, a clear moving screen twice by the same guy to get Buddy Boeheim open, then a clear trip on X, I'm sorry...BS

  24. I'm watching a great college basketball game in November. Hopefully everyone else is as well. Players making plays, shots....going to be a fun finish. Down 18 and now this. Something to remember.

  27. If the experience of losing at Syracuse prepares us for a win at WI, it will have been worth it.

  28. Honestly the way Syracuse shot the ball, previous teams would have had the deer in headlights situation and folded. This squad fought. With the way IU played the first half, they needed to lose. I mean really. You can’t go on the road and play careless for the first 20 minutes and expect to win. The lazy effort started before this game. Additionally, I’m so sick of these short stack, striped Oompa Loompa refs not being able to see above the knee caps.

  29. Woodson said that play wasn't on Lander. It was everyone else. Same play they ran to get Miller that open 3. Team didn't execute.

  30. Our bigs had 13 of our 25 turnovers... We saw we have 2 guys who can really knock em down at a high rate and both played pretty good defense... We were playing a good team, who has good shooters and a HoF coach...it isn't the end of the world... It's one to build on...

  31. Always like the win but November hoops is November. This group of kids showed me plenty to know we have something here. Not just now...but years to come with several guys contributing. To me it's simple. 25 turnovers. We have 23 we win. Correctable stuff and an awesome college hoops game to watch. Good thing is it's over by 10 on the EST...not midnight. Good times coming gang. Can feel the players knowing they gave one instead of maybe thinking they gave one away while hoping. Big difference.

  32. You really don't though. Good teams don't turn the ball over 25 times. I understand off shooting nights, I understand having games where you turn it over 15 times, but 25 times? Gonna have to clean it up. So many of these turnovers are just bone headed and self inflicted.

  42. All day long. They couldn't miss in the first half. We are making shots and not turning it over. Amazing games are 40 minutes. No clue how this turns out but we won the first 4 minutes 12-3....better version of us.

  45. I don't ever post in game threads, but thought I'd offer this: my son walked into the room, and after listening to the game for less than 2 minutes, asked, "Dad, why are the announcers Syracuse fans?"

  46. Not sure what you mean about "super staff knew about this zone"? Every team knows about the zone, yet Boeheim is one of the most successful coaches in college history. The coaching staff isn't why Stewart, Phinisee and Bates are missing completely wide open 3's. They're not why Race missed two point blank layups, or Stewart and Geronimo have thrown completely boneheaded passes.

  47. 1st road game. “Pesky” zone. I hope no one out there thought we were going undefeated. I think IU will regroup and make a game of it. But… Race has to hit the bunnies
