  1. Are you slow? Crean > Woodson? Crean wouldn't even be a ball boy in the NBA.

  3. Yeah, this is BS. The main difference is IUWBB has created a foundation of success and stability and IUMBB has not. Moren is probably as close to IU head coach for life as there is. That being said, blue blood wbb programs have to be sniffy around seeing what it would take to get her. It would be a real shame (and a huge mistake) as IU could remain a top tier program for many more years since she's only 52. The crowds they have been getting the past couple of years show that fans will come if given a winner.

  5. I genuinely believe Bates is going to take off - I see him as a player that can create for himself and for others. Expect his opportunities to come this year. Geronimo has a different make to him in that he can turn things on and be special - I’m expecting to see that. And I am really thinking JHS is going to be our best freshman in many, many years. I am really excited about this team.

  7. We use that line to get to work and into Manhattan from our place. The shooting was an express stop south of our place though in Sunset Park. Plus, I had PT Tuesday morning at 8am, so I was already in Manhattan at that point. Pretty damn scary though! Thank you for thinking about us. Thank you, my wife was working from home and I was already in Manhattan when it happened. That is our line though - N/Q/R - and just south of us. Oh man, let me know if you guys reschedule and if you want recs of places!

  12. Ah, come on...there were some faint calls for Painter's scalp, but they were very few and far between... Painter would have never made it past 2015 at IU... Purdue should keep him though...you never know. Maybe have the perfect storm and get to a final 4... I don't think you're going to draw a top shelf coach to West Lafayette. And hiring the hot "up and comer" is a crap shoot, as we found out...

  13. You realize this is an IU fan board correct? Purdue is and always will be the little brother. The “IU sucks” chant when playing St Mattress of the Sleepy is laughable. The constant saying that IU fans live in the past and then bringing up all of purdues victories before WW2 is laughable. Purdue is the same as political promises to me.

  14. I mean I understand and appreciate Woodson’s demand for good defense, but it feels like we need an injection of offense and nobody on the roster gives me a lot of confidence that those needs will be met. Here’s to hoping I’m wrong.

  17. But but but if Hummel didn’t get hurt….. that’s their excuse every time. Nobody knows what would’ve happened if he didn’t get hurt and never will. Purdue is always going to be Purdue which equals little brother to IU.

  18. The story used to be called "The Ant and the Ladybug", but that was gender insensitive, and "The Ant and the Non-Binary Xug" just didn't sound right.

  19. I'm really not sure what to make of this. No one on this board pines for the "Old School IU" than you Scott, and i don't think there is anyone on our roster who better represents the "Old School IU" than Trey. I firmly believe Coach Knight would've loved Trey Galloway, and quite frankly, I'm shocked you of all people don't.

  20. If you tried to log on to HSN this morning, you got an error code. It was NOT, however, a crash. I know, you all have PTSD! Our software provider had a rather large software update. It normally runs rather quickly, but this one not so much. In any matter, we're up now.

  22. Lol, sure. You realize this is an IU board don’t you?! Jesus so sick of seeing Purdue people on here and talking about Purdue who hasn’t done squat since their existence

  23. Shit one of them out and sign him up!

  24. If we're just hoping anyway, I'll hope for Trey Galloway to find his stroke and for Tamar Bates to take his sophomore leap. Then we don't need to gamble on marginal guys like this.

  26. Sure IF he and JG both have breakout years we could be pretty dang good if TJD stays or we can get a quality big to replace him. But I'm tired of relying on if's and hope for breakouts...I'd rather have some more almost certain contributors. And I really think we need to upgrade for Kopp. Maybe Dennis will be the guy...

  27. I don’t think it’s even debatable that Woodson outcoached Painter, who was sporting significantly more talent, in both games this year. Woodson pushed the right buttons and Painter got tripped up. That should be a concern for Purdue unless the lack of self awareness up there is sky high. This wasn’t Archie who never out coached Painter in four years.

  28. He just faired poorly the last 12 games...27% from 3...first 23 games 43%...

  29. The difference between IU and Purdue can be seen with the reaction this year versus how IU reacts. When IU lost to a formidable Syracuse team in the tourney, the fan base was inconsolable. This year, the Purdue loss was even more of a gut punch, and they are doing their usual post hoc rationalizations. You will never see a bracket part for Purdue like it just did. It was a total gift from the basketball Gods. Yet a very veteran team with a top five pick on it totally blew it. If anyone should be compared with Crean it’s Painter. At IU, you pull that, and the torches are out and you’re finished. At Purdue they act like it was just another loss in yet another year.

  33. This. Fife has had zero credibly reported interest for jobs, including from Lewis, Stephens, and Matta. That should be enough for everyone to conclude it was absolutely the right thing for the program to let him go and be enough for everyone be upset with Fife, not Indiana, for how things worked out. Dane Fife for all we may feel good about him for a player, hurt this program in his one year as a coach. He was a negative asset.

  35. So is there any actual off-season news besides a pissing match where one person has never been wrong and the other person has an unpopular opinion they are allowed to have? I think we can agree that no matter what is said, you will NEVER agree on this… Good grief. I’m ready for any type of season at this point…

  36. That list is tainted by Memphis...just laughable that he sees Penny as a coach. He's got three real quality X/O guys there and the rest are unknowns/question marks and outright pretenders.

  44. What's not being debated (for the most part): -Players need rest (check) -According to the 'macro numbers', our starters played a lot of minutes (check) What I continue to debate: -It's not that bench players received too many minutes, it's that Woody took all the productive players out at ONE TIME. Whether this came with one substitution or a few substitutions: there were many times that a bad line up was on the floor and cost us momentum, lost the lead, let our opponents back into the game. Because @btownqb said I needed to go back and watch the games. I did. I realized I still have them on my DVR. It wasn't really that hard because this 'bad line up' always is in around the 10.00 mark in the first half. A 'bad lineup' is defined as one without one of our 3 best players on the floor: Race, TJD and X. Below are the games still available on my DVR..... -Woody had the 'bad lineup' on the floor every game except once. -The bad line up was always used around the ten minute mark -In every situation there was a point swing not in our favor. And many of the times that line-up killed the momentum that we had gained prior to it going in. St. Mary's *We were up 18-14 when the bad lineup went in. When one of TJD, Race or XJ came back in we were down 21-26 *Result: -9 point swing Wyoming *Bad line up enters at 10.18 with IU up 11-8. IU is only up 13-12 when TJD and XJ sub back in at 6.48 *Result: -3 point swing. We only score 2 points in 3 and a half minutes. Iowa One of our Big 3 (TJD, XJ, Race) remained in the lined up at all times during the first half. Illinois *Bad line up enters at 11.57 with IU up 15-10. IU is only up 15-14 when TJD and subs back in at 9.56 *Result: -4 point swing. Michigan *Bad line up in at 9.05 with IU down 10-19. IU is down 14-25 when TJD subs bak in at 7.04 *Result: -2 point swing Purdue The early game on ESPN ran late, so the IU game cut in on my DVR with 8.00 left in the first half. The lineup was at full strength at this point, but PU was coming off a 10-0 run. Perhaps somebody can remember who was in the game around the 10.00 mark. Based on a pattern you see forming, I'm betting that lineup didn't contain one of our best 3. Rutgers *Bad line up in at 8.44 with IU up 21-16. Race checks in at 6.06; IU is only up 18-21 *result -2 point swing
