  1. Not one of our transfers ended up at at PW6 school. I believe that was basically our entire issue this year..... lack of talent. Stewart, Phinisee, Durr, and KL out JHS, Reneau, Banks, and Gunn in

  2. Really wanting Khristian to do well.....IU and Archie didn't do him any favors but will continue to support him down his new road.

  3. There's a rumor floating around MSU and their boards that Max Christie is interested in transferring to IU because he is dating Sydney Parrish. Don't know how true it is but that would be something.

  5. 5 star by recruiting ranking services don't redshirt....unless they play at Carolina or the school up North. We didn't do this kid any favors...or his parents. Good thing for KL is he's a 4.0 student. Smart enough to know he's going to reinvent himself at the age of 19. Shoot...many adults do that at the age of 49. He'll be just fine.

  6. Sunday I drop my wife off in Irwin, Tennessee for a 13 day hike on the Appalachian Trail. She is planning on hiking around 150-160 miles, ending up in Virginia. Her goal is to section hike the entire trail. Since I am much older than her, if/when I kick off she will collect the insurance money, take a sabbatical from work and through hike it. I will post a couple pictures when I drop her off. She is one tough, determined woman!

  7. I've asked this many times before but have never been answered: What would Lander have gained to improve his game by another year in HS that he didn't get at IU? In other words, how did enrolling early hurt him? - His freshman year didn't count against his eligibility so it's not a "wasted" year. - At IU he had college level coaching. Although Miller and company weren't great they're still better than he would've gotten in HS. - He received college level weight training and conditioning as well as a nutrition plan. - He practiced daily against better players. - He got game experience against college players. - 1 year of college courses out of the way. So I don't see how enrolling early hurt him. He wasn't a flop because of it. He simply isn't as good as his ranking indicated. 2 different coaching staffs came to this same conclusion but it wasn't because he enrolled early. It was more beneficial to him than another year in HS or redshirting that season.

  11. The parents first, everyone else after that. The point is, plenty of blame to go around. Who ever listed this kid a 5 star should quit today by the way.

  12. But by strict definition, that's incorrect... unless they don't want to count any of the competition for the 20-21 season...

  13. I go back and forth on the parent blame game. Head Coach at IU calls your to be senior in high school son and says I want you to enroll early....they are probably mind blown as well. I get your point but people are people. To get access to that stage that early....most would do the same.

  18. I sure do. LOL One time I bought her some jewelry and the girl behind the counter said that was so nice of me to buy those for my daughter. I replied, Yep, and I slept with her last night. I think she realized at that moment that she was my wife not my daughter. Another time we stopped at a bar/restaurant just south of Irons, Michigan. When we went in I told Susan I had to go to the bathroom. While I was gone the waitress and said to Susan, I have to ask you, husband or father?

  20. I have zero problem admitting that she's pretty. I'm much more impressed that she's a baller though. I'd still cheer just as hard for her if she was ugly, but if her looks are useful as a recruiting tool...BONUS!!!

  25. What would be super cool is if he comes back to IU for his super senior covid 5th year grad transfer senior senior year and kills it. Like Parker Stewart going back to Tennessee whatever and I heard about a kid that left a mac for Xavier and the back to a mac. Can't remember that name either, doh.

  26. I would say the recruiting services did him a major disservice as much as anyone. I'm trying to remember. Did he play up in aau and did pretty well, like 16 pts a game on a good team. Then his high school stats his jr year, 22 pts a game on a 12 and 12 team. 103 players in the state of indiana scored more points per game than him if I'm understanding MaxPreps correctly. 22 a game in Evansville doesn't register 5 star in my mind. On a bad team nonetheless. Thanks for clarifying your position. I feel for him because he was probably laying in bed thinking he would be in the nba. The realization that he's not even high major quality is enough to shake your confidence. He's honestly comparable to Al Durham without a motor. Lanky, sort of awkward shot, decent penetrator, not strong enough to finish but by jr sr year he should be. Great court vision and potential to be more like the pudgy Mich st point from a few years ago, I always forget his name.

  27. Miami is the #1 seed in the East and Atlanta was the 8th seed and had a really disappointing season. It's great to see Oladipo back and contributing, but he's not remotely the reason the Heat are where they are. He's a "nice to have" addition. He actually didn't play much in the series until the last 2 games.

  30. I'm on your side lol I agree with you. I was simply mentioning, he did RS. I don't see much of a difference in the amount of games he played and how many mins a RS would get.. they were both minuscule. I don't have anything to be empathetic about. I don't feel bad for him. I like KL, I loved the way he was supporting his teammates last year. I think he is a really good student and person, and a good basketball player! Just don't think that is at the B1G level.

  31. I'm still don't understand this narrative and I've yet to have anybody truly explain it. So are you saying that his confidence was so shattered by enrolling early that it negates all of the gains that he made physically in the weight room and by competing in practice against better competition than he was going to face in high school? The only other thing I've heard is that he had the chance to win Mr basketball stolen from him. Maybe the chance yo be senior homecoming king . What else are we talking about here?

  32. Didn't know where to put this, but this thread looked like a good place... My wife was digging through some stuff and found these 2 letters. They're from her Dad to her Mom, during WW2 before they were married. Her Dad was in the Battle of the Bulge, including the liberation of Bastogne. He sent these during the occupation of Velburg. A German POW did the artwork hoping my father in law would help him get to the US... Just some interesting Americana...

  33. It's honestly a bit early to compare Giannis to KD from a career standpoint, considering Giannis is just now entering his prime. Giannis could very well make that a laughable conversation over the next 6 years.

  34. The Warriors were, are and will be Steph Curry's team until he hangs it up. He's the best shooter the game has ever seen and he is the leader of that team. Everything they do is about Steph Curry. Their entire offense, even when Durant was there, was built around Curry. Durant was phenomenal, of course, and sure is the most talented in terms of the total package, but there were other guys you could have put in that Durant role and they still would have won. Curry is the irreplaceable one there.

  36. I often forget that these players are real people, trying to earn a living and provide for their families. And that's it's very hard. From an article today: Dekker admitted that he was in a "really dark place professionally" after being waived by the NBA's Toronto Raptors in November. "I've had a lot of doubts over the last six, seven years. A lot," Dekker said. Now age 27, he was selected 18th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft. He played just one minute in the NBA this season, after returning from two seasons overseas. Dekker contributed 12 points, five rebounds and an assist in 22 minutes as Bahcesehir College defeated Unahotels Reggio Emilia 90-74 to win the 2021-22 FIBA Europe Cup in Istanbul, Turkey. Edit: Good for him. Sometimes the life we get isn't the life we planned. And it's harder than we thought it would be. I don't expect to see him in the NBA again.

  45. He deserves any and all criticism. I have academicians in my family so I say this respectfully. I think he was a university President. The problem is these guys don’t function in the real world. It’s the definition of an ivory tower. So they have no clue how to run an enterprise like the NCAA. And I don’t know who is on the board, but it’s probably much of the same. When you don’t function in the real world, you’re ill-equipped to anticipate issues or properly administer consistent policies and so on. They can’t anticipate a business guy like Ruiz using the system for promotion. Having said that, they will probably bring in another university President. Maybe the new person will have a better idea of what he or she is doing. They need to basically nuke how they do things, restructure, start from scratch etc. I think IU took a bigger penalty for bumper stickers than UNC did for systematic academic fraud for decades. You can’t make this stuff up.
