Ok, I wanted to go back and listen precisely what he said about Geronimo. "What Coach talked about with Geronimo after the season was to try to move him towards the perimeter, so he can play the 3 spot. To do that, it's alot of work. If that's what your goals are and your aspirations are to reach that, you are going to have to work. It's a daily progress. Geronimo had a little injury toward the end of the spring workouts. The sky's the limit for him already. If he continues to move in the direction that we feel like he can, that kid can be special. You gotta understand, Geronimo still hasn't grasped...he hasn't played basketball for that long. If you look at his progression, coaching change, one year as a freshman he is with Coach Miller and then, Coach Woodson. Two different styles. So now you really try to learn Coach Woodson's style last summer, how we do things. This is the summer where he can make the biggest jump, I think. It is the whole summer. Last year, we were trying to get stuff implemented defensively to get ready for the Bahamas. This year, it is more of an offensive approach in getting our guys better. I think, with him, he is going to continue to build that ladder, especially shooting the ball and doing things off the dribble and off the bounce that can continue to elevate his game. I am excited about Geronimo. That's the thing about our team. You move him up the board and you look at our roster. It's like 'oh shit.' I just think we were already a good defensive team last year but you put that length and athleticism... you think about Schifino and X and Scoop..you've got length and the ability to switch a lot of different things defensively. Our thing is playing at a different pace and shooting the ball. We've got to shoot the ball and that's what we will spend a lot of time on this summer."6 points

It's an interesting listen because he went through all the players. Couple more tidbits. He expects a huge jump from Scoop. He works really hard. Duncomb just had his tonsils out so he is out a couple of weeks. Coach talked to him after the season that he really needs to transform his body so he can take the pounding in the paint in the B1G. He showed a lot of flashes in practice and they like him. My opinion: If TJD comes back and everyone is healthy, they need to talk Logan into redshirting. It's in his own best interest. Total no-brainer. He can be a monster his fifth year, senior year. Don't blow that opportunity. I can go through a huge list of guys that were huge that fifth year.4 points

This is very evident. Notice that playing at a different pace was listed BEFORE "shooting the ball".3 points

Tough loss for my Celtics last night. The Bucks certainly made some big plays, but I'd say the Celtics choked that one away more than the Bucks won it. Tatum's shot selection was horrible and obviously giving up offensive rebounds was huge, but another huge reason we lost was this tweet below and most of these 3's were off of Celtics made baskets...Just unacceptable.3 points

I have my tomato and peppers in. The seeds we started around April 1st have been hit and miss. Couple just died last night. Could be wind or high temps but feeling good just to get them going. Going to help my Aunt tomorrow get most of her stuff in...which is ultimately mine and friends stuff. 70 years old and can barely walk for time being but we have 10 Beefsteak and Goliath Hybrids going into tomorrow....as well as Peppers. Holding off on zucchini, squash, radishes and things. Just want to get the main guests of the summer going.3 points

I moved about 18 months ago. As I was packing up the garage, I found no less than 14 pencils, 4 rolls of electrical tape and 3 tape measures in various random locations.2 points

The perfect setting for me is a woods that has dead elm(with the bark peeling off) along with an abundance of yellow poplar, ash, and sycamore trees with wild cherry and apple scattered in.2 points

Pretty sure I have a half dozen rolls of duct tape. Can't find a single one. Was much more organized when I had a truck bed tool box.2 points

I can't say enough how much I like the direction the program is headed. Coaching hires, recruits, player development and more all seem to be clicking. I can easily see IU surprising to the upside in the upcoming years. I'm long IU stock!2 points

I lose track of who is discussed where on this board. Anyway, Dexter Dennis is announcing tomorrow at 4 pm, per a short mention from our hard-working member The Daily Hoosier. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/the-daily-hoosier-report-the-latest-in-iu-news-and-recruiting-notes-5-12/1 point

Manual folding wings.... OH how I hated those thangs as a 12 yr old. Especially when they would load up with mud!1 point

Very sloppily written; I am embarrassed! In my defense I was typing at a "texting" level speed, lol. I went in and fixed it.1 point

It's been an issue with Tatum and Grant Williams for awhile. Udoka has talked about it a lot this season. But clearly Milwaukee made it a focus to exploit that, because many of the 3's referenced were after made Celtics baskets and Milwaukee would rush the ball up, almost like a 5-on-4 break and take/make quick 3's.1 point

Barking at the refs was the easiest way for me to get my arsz planted on the bench in my ball playin' days. Coach said it was his job to yell at them. It amazes me(or not) that pros continually do it. Anyway, it was a tough loss for your leprechauns.1 point

Not really sure where to put this, but this seems like the best spot. My wife and I had dinner at my in-laws Country Club tonight and they had an event for Braden Smith and Alyssa Crocket - my daughter got his autograph about 5 times and a picture with him. He seems like a very classy, nice, kid. Alyssa Crocket, who is going to UM to play women's hoops, was equally great with my daughter. Obviously not rooting for an abundance of team success for those two, but they're both great kids that I hope do really well in college.1 point

That's what my aunt said....she goes call and ask for Randy. Reason why I had Summer's out was because they did our furnace and water heater last year and were well below anyone in the area. Maybe that's their niche?1 point

Yep! I'm extreme when it comes to IU. Sorry! He wants to take a shot at IU on Insta while walking out the back door...I have zero problems where things have turned for him. With that said I hope he gets it straight on a personal level. Just not on the taking a shot at IU level...1 point
-
Can’t even remember what Swanigan said tbh. And you were happy to see his life take another wrong turn? Really? That seems extreme. I’m sure it was something dumb about Purdue being the better place to play probably but IMO, it didn’t matter if Swanigan played at Purdue, MSU, Cal, IU, etc… He was never going to last in the league unfortunately. Just hope he gets his life turned around.1 point

NCAA doesn't have any say in TV deals except the tournament. They lost that court case back in 1984. They could fine schools the equivalent amount but I doubt there would be much backing of something that drastic from the member schools.1 point

Yep! We all do for sure! It's just nice knowing after 22 recruiting class with elite guy and 3 good 4 stars...we've stacked another great recruiting class so far in 23 with us just narrowing the finish line. Lots of programs are in full on scramble mode each off season. Glad we aren't one of those. You keep stacking top 100 guys on top 100 guys while peppering in the elite we'll be playing hoops in April in coming years.1 point

Brownstown may be back in 3A in 2 years due to success factor, regardless of enrollment.1 point
-
In the least arrogant way I can say this... Brownstown, on paper, will have never of been more talented then they are the next two years. No clue if that will equal the total team success that we have had, but 2 D1 kids and two or three more that will play college basketball at some level... and just an immense amount of height and length. And we have a decent coach lol Beech Grove also brings back a ton (as in their top 7). I think ND's ceiling is semi state in 3A and regional in 2A. (but would still have to beat a top 10 Linton team in the sectional in 2A). If the possibility of going the furthest in the tourney is the ultimate goal, imo, they made the right choice. But... absolutely NOOO promise they get out of that 3A sectional.1 point
-
I can't say it's an exciting style of play, but it makes for close suspenseful games. Linton folks definitely complaining about ND intentionally avoiding a sectional rematch. There was also some chatter about one player being ineligible next season due to age but I've got zero details on that...just chatter I heard in passing.1 point

A) Didn't get the credit he was due at Florida. B) Gotta have a good foundation to last that long. He must have had a damn good coach his first couple of years in the league.1 point

I agree. He will be an awesome TV analyst. Also he's a top notch motivational speaker.1 point

I'm listening now. Kenya said that he couldn't take much credit for recruiting Reneau the 2nd time he became available. Kenya credited JHS for telling the staff to get on him and and using his relationship to get him here. Gotta love JHS!1 point
