Guess I'll throw this one in here because I didn't want to start a new thread for meeting with former IU players. Had to help my aunt open an account at United Fidelity. Anyway our own Derek Elston was the guy helping. Was awesome to catch up with him....said he just spoke with Jordy yesterday and good things coming. Not sure if that meant for our recruit on campus or just in general. He also said that Brian Walsh is the real deal....has heard nothing but great things about him. Talked about the Sampson time a bit, Crean was all work....I'll also just add this. Archie was just so regimented. Zero personal side to him....he didn't come out and say it specifically but a couple years of Archie was all it took for him to take this new position. He and his wife just had a little one and wife has a restaurant or something in Zionsville. Good to see him, see him doing well...and also good the vibe I got from him about not only this year but future years to come. He didn't say a cloud was over Bloomington under Archie....but just so tense. Nobody was having fun. Not the case anymore. All smiles and laughter in the 812.

I agree that's the way the coaching business works. But jeepers, I'd love it if IU would double the pay of staff we want to keep. Or triple it. Whatever it takes to start winning championships, or get back to Top 10 status. Jamie Kaiser (recruit) said this about Woodson after today's visit: "He’s a stand-up guy. He doesn’t need money, he doesn’t need a new job. He’s doing this because he loves it. Other places that you go, coaches are hunting for that next job or they’re at risk in their position."

So this is what it's like to be a Hoosier basketball fan in the offseason when the fan base is fairly content. Kind of boring if you ask me.

We've had too many players whose misses rarely hit the rim.

I actually work at the same bank he does just not the same location. I’ve spoken to him on numerous occasions and it seemed like him and Walsh got pretty close when they were both there. I try to not too bug him too much about IU basketball as I feel like that would just annoy him to continually ask him about how much he knows with recruits etc etc

They should be very very worried. In my opinion order is IU UVA then Maryland

Worst directions I ever received, had just taken a new job in a new state. Coworker was giving directions and said “turn left where the Shell station used to be”. I said “how the hell am I supposed to know where the that is?”

Gabe Cupps is hands down the best pure high school point guard I've ever seen. A facilitator extraordinaire. Not a big point scorer but puts up clutch points when needed. Or creates points with some crazy assist. Basketball IQ as high as it gets. Still has a year left to improve under his father who is a brilliant coach and motivator in his own right. Last night was a total beat down of Bronny's team as that game was never in doubt. IU should someday win a NCAA Championship under his leadership. Since I live in Dayton, I will have the pleasure of watching him play this winter for a measly $8 a game. Eat your hearts out!

Mark Adams is the dad, Drew is the son. Mark Adams is the director of Indiana Elite and also runs the A-Hope foundation which sponsors international students coming to the states and helps with securement of visa, schooling, and things like that. IU has been recruiting Indiana Elite for years and its an AAU program that has produced more than a dozen Indiana players over the years. Raleigh Burgess and Travis Perry are current 2024 recruits who play with Flory on Indiana Elite.

For many years my wife told me where to go but that was not so pleasant. Now I pay way to much money for this English accent lady to tell me when to turn left or right. She has never once said turn North at the next stop light

If you ever drive out in the New Jersey area, they have convenience stores called "Wawa." Can't throw a rock without hitting one. I swear, in over 20 years of driving out there I have never gotten directions that didn't include a "take a left/right at the Wawa."

People that give driving directions using North, South East and West. Who the hell they think I am, Christopher Columbus? Just say left or right I can figure that out

I think they're the team to beat but I don't think it's as inevitable as many seem to think that he goes there. I've seen stuff about him almost committing to MSU in the spring and others basically saying it's a lock. If so, I doubt he would've just released a top 10. That doesn't seem like someone who has his mind set and is on the cusp of making a commitment.

If the 7th inning was Castillo's last as a Red it was pretty impressive. Going into the inning the Reds were up 5-2 but the Marlins first 3 guys got on and scored a run. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and no outs Castillo struck out the next 3 batters. Going into the inning he had only had 67 pitches but threw 25 in the 7th so that was probably his last inning.

I'm coming up on 18 years here in LA and I have come across LOTS of 'traditional' Big Ten-region transplants. IU has a large and robust alumni network out here, as do U-M, OSU, Penn St. to name a few. There is a big appetite for BT football here, and I think the novelty of having our teams playing out here will generate substantial interest.

I saw on another site saying that Rabjohn is reporting that Kaiser has cancelled his visit to UCLA. He also said that his visit to IU went very well.

all right... gonna brag on my son again... he started preseason workouts at Presbyterian July 5th. he is a walk on and seems to be really fitting in and liking the team and coaches a lot. here's my brag - he hit 108 straight FTs a few days ago. also ran the fastest mile on the team. some good ways for a walk on to make an impression!

I think it was scott Drew that pushed it. He was mad about losing Hanner. I believe IU/Crean self reported it. Probably should’ve fought it. The NCAA was a paper tiger even back then.

I know my brother met Joe Hillman because he uses Hillman's company for some of his retirement funds. Actually one of Joe's partners went to school with my brothers son and my brother nuas been working with him for years.

Nothing shady, just the NCAA being archaic. Mark Adams became legal guardians (through A-Hope) to Hanner Perea and Peter Jurkin came when they came to the states. Because Adams had once donated to Indiana in the late 80's in order to secure an Indiana license plate, he became a booster. The NCAA decided that Adams, because of his booster status in the 80's, gave impermissible benefits to recruits (Perea and Jurkin) when he bought them laptops for schooling. I think both players had to sit out 9 or 10 games their freshman year.

Yes he is. He is genuine and if get them on campus I like our odds.

After reading the article about the Kaiser viist I think he pops for IU last week of August so I am still hearing that we will get a commit before the 1st day of classes. My money is on Harris-Smith by 1 day before Page announces.

I am just tired of sports becoming so sterile and with no personality to the game. I just like the human element to sports and they are trying to take all of this away. Players aren't perfect so are we just going to have robots playing the game as well. How about just have all games played on a simulator
