KDB from the top rope
-
I have been a Banks and Gunn hater. Both played well last night. Good for them
-
I think this team looks a WHOLE LOT better if we stagger Reneau and Ware more intentionally and play smaller. We can run the offense through a big, just not two of them. Is one of them man enough to accept a 6th man role? In some situations we can even run them together, but only when the game proves it’s worthwhile. Not as a baseline. This also requires continued growth from Gunn, Walker, Banks, et al. We will go as far as XJ takes us. Cupps is a perfectly fine backup
-
Banks has the BBIQ of a Purdue graduate

I was really excited to kill flight time and watch this one but, alas, BTN+. What did Leal do, particularly? I have been advocating for Leal over Gunn for a while. If Gunn can’t make shots, why is he on the floor?
-
He just pushes them like a toddler, it’s annoying
-
Thanks Reacher for starting. Seems like an interesting one - missed it on a flight back from holiday travels. BTN+ is garbage

Y’all are making me hungry

MM sat way too long

Thought the refs really impacted the game on both sides, but more so IU. Also thought the luck of the bounce was just NOT on our side today. KU is good.

This is not insignificant
HoosierFaithful replied to Sea Turtle's topic in General Basketball Discussion
It's wild to me that anyone is talking about cheerleaders or the band, but then I remember we're a bunch of 30-70 year old men ignoring work, so it all makes a bit more sense -
This is not insignificant

Could this simply be distilled to Auburn is 90 minutes from Atlanta..? -
I stopped reading half way through the pages here, but a request: if you're an optimist, please don't crap on the people who are pessimists. And vice versa. It does nothing to add to the discussion.

It’s the hope that kills you gents. Write this one off and enjoy the second half in some way
-
Refs need to swallow the whistle a bit.

This team just plays dumb too much. Cupps shows his inexperience fouling on a 3. The Malik turnover with the shot clock off almost made me go for a walk
-
on the bright side, we showed flashes of knowing how to shoot from distance
-
I think you can simplify this game down to press / aggressive ball pressure and no XJ. None of this is good but forget about this game after it’s over. Flush it.

Going through the motions? Have you watched these tournament games? Couldn’t be further from the truth.

IU Players Entering Transfer Portal
HoosierFaithful replied to KDB's topic in General Football Discussion
In a sport based on bravado, machismo, and confidence, it’s wild to me that people are second guessing a new coach at a program exuding… all of those traits?? What else is he supposed to do, say we’re going to get our butts kicked until his contract runs out? Jesus Christ, I’m not sure what else we want from a coach we’ve had for not much longer than “a moderate bender.”- 224 replies

Still a small sample size and presumably TG gets a lot of tougher matchups

IU Players Entering Transfer Portal
HoosierFaithful replied to KDB's topic in General Football Discussion
The portal was about leveling the field for the kids. If they can dip, so can the schools under a circumstance like this. I don’t like it but I also don’t like Sorsby transferring, but that’s just tough for all involved. It’s the new game. -
Emphasis mine. I get the nuanced NET argument you're making, but at the end of the day, I just don't agree with the line here.

IU Players Entering Transfer Portal
HoosierFaithful replied to KDB's topic in General Football Discussion
With the fact that commitments never meant anything in football anyway, I was already reluctant to get invested in HS recruits. Add the portal? Hell, I'm reluctant to get invested in the PLAYERS! On the other hand, it does create excitement, the players deserve the flexibility, and it certainly helps a program like IU in the long run.
