  1. I've heard the best solution for Cockburn is soaking
  2. Bit of an interesting draft, IMO. I think the Thunder, Pistons and of course Rockets have to be absolutely thrilled. The Magic... I don't get it. I was personally thrilled with the Pacers two picks thus far.
  3. 2 and take Mathurin and Griffin.
  4. Probably more overlooked than hidden gem; he was right around top 75. He’s an absolute stud and if Geronimo doesn’t make some big strides he may find minutes hard to come by between Reneau (4 & 5) and Banks (3 & 4).
  5. I’m talking about their rating, not their ranking. Someone may understand better than I do and can feel free to correct, but essentially their ranking has to do with where they stack up against their class (and some aren’t as good as others) where as their rating has to do with how their judged by scouts in the composite independent of their class. If you pull a list of the highest rated recruits in program history, JHS shows up higher than Blackmon or Yogi despite JBJ and Yogi having a higher ranking out of high school thank JHS.
  6. Well for him specifically I don't think he'll start because of Race, but if he did I'd expect him to be capable of what all the other 5 star bigs we've had in the past decade.
  7. Celts couldn’t have asked for a better start.
  8. I don't quite get this take. Sure, as a fan base we have overhyped guys before (who hasn't?) but generally guys ranked and high as Reneau and JHS come in and are impact players Day 1. And before anyone points out Bates or Lander, they weren’t rated as high as MR or JHS.
  9. Heard Game 6 Klay might show up tonight and bring friends with him. Celts are done tonight IMO.
  10. I think the key is exactly that - don’t turn the ball over and hit shots. If you look back at Game 5 and ignore any thoughts on the officiating, the Celtics lost a game they got a goose egg from three out of Steph and had double the free throw attempts and it happened because of those two areas. If I were to add a third area I’d say keep the Warriors out of the paint. They scored a ton inside in Game 5 - make them (someone besides Steph) hit jumpers to beat you in your home court.
  11. We don’t even need to be an elite shooting team to be an elite team. We need a 1-2 percent bump as a team to be right where we need to be in terms of percentage. I wouldn’t mind a higher volume of threes though.
  12. But UNC is one of the top public universities in the nation. I get the scandal that they had, but assuming Nance doesn’t enter a fake degree program he will be getting a quality and well respected education.
  13. We don’t know exactly what’s on the table for trades but because of all the options that would be involved, but the Warriors could conceivably come up with a package not including Wiggins.
  14. Last night I saw them play a ton of Wiggins at the four. I don’t see at all how giving Beal GP2 and Poole’s minutes would be worse for the Warriors.
  15. Favorable whistle like double their free throw attempts and 12 less fouls?
  16. I’m with you on Reneau, and I think he is getting undersold by our fans. He isn’t going to just take the 8-10 minutes that TJD is resting. He will take minutes from other guys too.
  17. To me the story from this game is that the Warriors had a lot of guys step up who haven’t been good consistently in this series, and the Celtics with a lot of self inflicted wounds. Celtics clean up their mistakes they have a great shot at winning Game 6.
  18. My last comment on the refs, so you can reply and have the last word. Did the stretch that was poor in the fourth end the game anymore than the stretch to start the third (the one you laughed about earlier in this thread) let the Celtics back in it? I mean it propelled the Celtics to winning the third by double digits when they’ve been getting crunched in the third. Both teams, from my perspective, had a stretch in the second half where they went on a run and we’re getting some favorable calls. Both teams also executed and made shots in those stretches. Both of those stretches resulted in roughly a ten point swing. Now I’ll shut up and listen on the refs.
  19. Probably should have gotten one, but his 5th and 6th fouls also probably weren't fouls. They're missing things both ways, overall I don't really think one team is getting favored by the refs. That's my only point here.
  20. Yes, Draymond is the worst offender. But he is one guy - the Celtics basically throw a team full of guys (sans Horford) that flop and complain constantly. The stretch was certainly bad, but not as much as you're saying. The play at the end of the third should have been a foul and given Tatum two free throws, but we have no idea if GSW hits the three or not after that. They'd have had more time with the ball than they ended up having when they hit it. The Thompson three - I'm fine with a no call. Smart was all over him, there was some push off to create space but there was also a flop to sell it. You can't really complain they didn't call a push off when your guy fouled him at least twice before it. The tech is an accumulation of Smart complaining and flopping all the time, despite at that point the Celtics being called for 6 less fouls. It's human nature for the refs to get sick of that. I know you're not complaining about what the Celtics are getting called for, you're complain about the missed calls that the Warriors aren't getting called for. But you're not pointing out all the Celtics are getting away with, they're missing things both ways.
  21. I'm not arguing there have been some missed calls, but I'm not ignoring what the Celts get away with either. Overall, the refs have been pretty even in their impact, but one team (as a whole) flops and complains a lot more than the other despite the number of fouls being in their favor game after game. The refs are human, I'm sure they know the objective fact that they're calling more fouls on the Warriors than the Celtics and at some point just want them to shut up.
  22. I think the Celtics are doing this to themselves... The Celts have gotten called for 6 less fouls and do nothing but flop and complain. Yes, Draymond is the word offender in the series but the next few after him are all wearing green. It has to get old as a referee when the Celtics do their shenanigans game after game yet still complain, as a whole, the most in the series.
