Are you saying you trust Tom Izzo and his judgement of right and wrong over Mike Woodson? Surely I am misinterpreting that.

Maybe. He can think Dane is a good assistant that fits what he wants to do and think he screwed up at IU and didn’t fit what IU wants. That’s not mutually exclusive.

I doubt that approach would resonate very well with most high level recruits and their parents.

Yes. Which is why it’s absurd to say he could have killed someone when he didn’t come close. Anytime you drive you could kill someone.

It’s still man slaughter potentially if you hit and kill a pedestrian while speeding. The likelihood of charges and conviction are lower, but it’s still there.

Do you actually think he will be convicted with a felony? Do you think breaking a curfew rule the night before a game is the same as doing something that’s probably not even directly addressed in team rules in the off season? Context matters a lot.

The same thing would’ve been true if he was going 40. He didn’t hit anyone though or even come close as far as we know. Do any of the people that think he should definitely be gone think Bohannon should have been at Iowa last season? You know, for actually committing a violent crime instead of doing something that could’ve had violent consequences?

That’s fair. I think one side is assuming things beyond what we do know, so the other side is defending based on the limited amount we do know and not granting room for there to be more.

What he got arrested for and what he ends up charged with are probably two different things.

Regardless of if that was real or not, it’s a valid comparison.

And he has a house in Meridian Kessler… If he thinks at all his health can handle coaching, it’s an absolute perfect spot to get back into it for him.

The XJ thing is obviously disappointing. Fife it's really disappointing that a former player screwed up that badly, but I'm not sure how that's an indictment on anyone besides Fife. Matta left an administrative role to get back into coaching. Doesn't that seem unrelated to the state of the program? What am I missing in terms of there being some big problem in Bloomington?

100%. Did you watch the last month of the season?

I have no problem with X being our on-court leader. Off court? He's obviously got two strikes against him, but based on what we know for sure about those two incidents it's hard to act like he's a bad apple. I would bet more young males have committed reckless driving than those that haven't, and the same with curfew. It's dumb and he got caught doing both and should be handled accordingly, but l don't know that we can go beyond saying he did a couple dumb things just yet.

But that was the night before a game, not the off-season. Can’t see the standard being the same there at all.

1-2 games maximum. Let’s not forget Mark Few got 1 game for a DUI.

It’s a talent issue as much as anything at IU. Let’s hope that’s changes.
