  1. What a nice surprise! This game is a perfect example how this team would need to play moving forward. Play tough defense every posession because our offense sucks TJD has to bring it offensively every night Keep the opponent under 60 points/game; otherwise, we pretty much lose And the coaching staff needs to continue to groom X Johnson.
  2. I've lowered my expectation quite a bit these days. But will still see if the team and the coaching staff can turn things around moving forward. Seriously our team hasn't really beat any team good this season...YET.
  3. Yeah...I thought that was pretty lame too. UL's got nothing good going on right now.
  4. Glad that we got a W. This is one of those must wins. Winning this game doesn't pad our resume that much, but if we lost, it would look really bad. Soon heading into the Big 10 gauntlet, I'm lowering my expectation a bit. I wouldn't be surprised if we would get .500 in Big 10 and be one of those bubble teams in March. Of course anything can happen.
  5. Ok, on to the next game. ND's confidence must be way up there now beating UK. This could be a dangerous game.
  6. Seeing how IU and Wisconsin have been progressing up to this point, it's hard to predict a W in this game, and it's an away game. Of course, I'm expecting a nice surprise.
  7. 7-44? Just shut it down. Even the famous 'LEO' couldn't save the team from humiliation. Or is there still 'LEO' left in the team?
  8. Whew...TJD's career game saved the team. Marshall was no joke, but this shows our team is a work in progress, and there are lots of things to learn. On to the next game!
  9. Without TJD, this game was lost long time ago. What a mosterous game he's having tonight.
  10. Seriously? He just started college. Did he smoke pots in high school?
  11. Certainly preseason injury news doesn't give me warm and fuzzy feelings, and I'm a bit concerned too. But at the same time, I feel fortunate none of our guys suffered serious injuries. I see once every week or so so-and-so sustained a season ending injury during scrimmage. I'm sure the coaching staff wants players to go hard in practices to maximize learnings, but also they're closely watching players' overall health and conditioning level. I like to trust our coaching staff; I think we got a really good team of coaches.
  12. I thought about Sampson too, and certainly he's a proven coach. He was just not the right man for a school like IU. Also it's fair to ask the question whether he's the right leader and mentor for young men. Woodson, on the other hand, is known as a man of high character and well-respected and understands what basketball means to IU. While he wasn't some legendary NBA coach, he improved his teams wherever he coached. I think his coaching can be more than 'good' at the collegiate level. We'll find out in a few months.
  13. We're finally ready to travel the road we never did before. That is to hire a former Hoosier and let him instill Hoosier pride in those young players. It's regrettable IU had to wait this long to make it happen, but it's way better late than never. Jury's still out, but I gotta say I'm more than optimistic. Coach Woodson is probably the best coach we've had since the departure of Coach Knight.
  14. Ugly loss, but we still got almost a whole season left. Reflect, regroup and attack. That's what the team's gotta do. Go Hoosiers!
  15. After reading the article, that was my impression as well. UK will have enough marquee matchups in non-conference. Replacing Michigan with High Point...well that's bit of a weak-a$$ move but their non-conf schedule is still tough. With that said, I just had to laugh at the UK beat writer's comment that UK fans can have undivided attention on UK football game on that day for SEC championship game.
  16. Just found this thread. I'm saddened by the loss. He was a true fan and a great guy. He will definitely be missed. Rest in peace Mr. Clark.
  17. Everything you said made sense to me even though I didn't fully agree with you, but this sentence was just flat out wrong. He took this job for his own benefit and success. He didn't take this job because he loved IU. He was indifferent. If you said this for Tom Crean, though he wasn't my favorite IU coach, I would've agreed. Sure Crean took this job for his own success too, but at least he tried to embrace 'Indiana'. Archie didn't.
  18. Sounds like an automatic death penalty. 2 really good assistants and 2 top players left the program. We're going to have a lot of fun beating them next season.
  19. Xavier is a good place to continue and have a fresh start. Also much closer to his home. Wish him all the best. I still think if he's got a good tool to be successful. What he needs is the right mindset and greater efforts.
  20. So after all, Watts has shown his love for MSU. His next destination 👉 Montana State
  21. You said it best. Guy was full of egos without an ounce of humility. I actually don't doubt his knowledge in basketball; the guy virtually spent all his life with a basketball in his hands. Problem was he couldn't get his players to buy in what he was trying to accomplish. That was a failure in leadership. I learned a great deal from what IU football team accomplished this past season. Team sports is almost all about creating an environment where players love and respect one another. It's hard to fail when players are willing to sacrifice their bodies to cover and protect their teammates. And everything starts from the top. Coach has to have a big heart to embrace and give youngsters genuine love and care, but never to shy away from showing tough love and instilling discipline.
