Yes, with Filipowski about NIL but it was exaggerated to fit a narrative.
Exactly. I had heard that the comment was why worry about how much money you will make. with all that Indiana has to offer I would play there for free like the rest of us or something along those lines

Ahhhh makes sense. Woodson didn't want him. Why create a split in the fanbase. Embellish things for causation.
the heir apparent did not sit well even thought that was only perception not reality. As fans thats what we assumed and if things did not go well do you really want to predecessor on your staff. There was no love loss to say the least

@RoadToZion @DC2345 wasn't there also issues Fife was creating with recruits....? For some reason i thought i recalled something with filipowski or something.
I just thought there were a bunch of things that added up, not on of those things individually being a see yuh later, but adding up of all the things?
info was "created" to support getting rid of him and not have the fan base that many loved Fife in revolt.

The fact that he is friends with DD is a huge red flag 🚩
CMW pushed out Thad & Dane pretty quickly
They were not yes men and actually had their own thoughts and ideas and they did not always align with the HC.

Woodson---> We need to get better.
A quote we heard all year all the way to the last game.
His IQ is below normal. His team reflects that.
I am afraid that he is either senile or so far in denial that he is clueless. In the BTT the teams advancing were scoring 80 plus points. IU cant do that in a game an a half but we can outscore opponents in the paint. Mike its not 1980 get your head out of your rear end and do you job effectively. Every single one of us would be fired from our jobs if our performance mirrored that of Woodys while at IU. We truly are the laughing stock of the college basketball world. Listening to him talk after each game truly reminds me of the last years of my grandpas life while dealing with dementia. Repeat the same thing over and over and living our memoires of 40 years ago. Its sad. Do us all a favor Mike and ride off into the sunset. You will earn more respect from the fan bae doing that than you will with the steamy pile of crap year we will have next season.

The IU staff feels like they have 1 or 2 big time transfers locked up. That said we’ll see if that actually plays out.
Not sure who the guys are or even if my info is correct but I heard our "big fish" are still playing for whatever thats worth.

Growing up Selection Sunday was a holiday for me and I tried to pass that on to my kids. . My 2 oldest kids are 28 and 24 and for them I treated it the same way. We used to love to have our brackets ready to fill out and had so much anticipation of seeing how far West they were sending our Hoosiers. Its been a long time since we have done that just because IU is irrelevant in college basketball when it comes tournament time. I hate it so much. Instead of yesterday being a holiday I spent 10 hours painting the living room and hall ways of our house. Only looked to see if ISU made it and nothing else until today when i filled out a bracket. I miss the days of the excitement of Indiana basketball and being a homer and picking IU to win it every year. I have resigned to living the GLORY DAYS. Sucks to be an IU fan.

Am I the only one that whenever MR touches the ball I truly have no idea what to expect? With him the full spectrum of possibilities are potentially coming. He might kick it into the stands, throw it over the back board hit a tough shot or make a strong post move and finish that leaves me speechless. I will say its an adventure for sure

As a proud alum of Indiana University, being the lead on this project was amazing to say the least. Greenfield Signs was awarded the job to fabricate and install the IU TRIDENT on the bell tower of the Campus Center at IU INDY. For nearly 50 years the trident was non existent at IUPUI. That is no longer the case. Our team fabricated and installed a pair of 13 feet tall 9 feet wide internally illuminated tridents 80 ft above the IU INDY campus. I am so proud of our of team and wanted to share with all of you . Thank you to IU INDY for allowing Greenfield Signs to be part of this project. Here is a link to the Indy Star article https://www.indystar.com/picture-gallery/news/local/2024/03/11/blue-skies-act-as-backdrop-for-giant-iu-trident-sign-over-iupui/72934764007/

Happy for the guys to get another W. Might as well just keep it up . Gonna be a tough road. Hope that TG is good to go for the BTT. I can't help but keep playing the what might have been scenarios through my head. I think 2 more wins we were in safely and no talk of a new coach. Lets just go out and win this thing.

I don't even know where to begin as I reflect on this, but the words "red flag" do pop up in my head.
I get the feeling, from seeing his replies/comments to questions asked by reporters, that CMW does not like being questioned about how he does things or sees things. He doesn't come across as someone who takes constructive criticism well. Again, just my opinion from watching/hearing/reading him in interviews.
that's why people surround themselves with yes men.

I believe that there are 3 possible theories here.
1. Woodson's seat was never even warm
2. THe seat was hot Dolson has his guy lined up and the BOT or President said no way
3. Woodson has been told that he just needs to step away after the season. He had his vote of confidence which quiets one side of the discussion and IU does not have to fire him. Win win.

Glad we got the win yesterday. Was able to listen to whole second half. This was a game that we should have won even with the struggles all year. The season looks a lot differently if we had not dropped those winnable games at home. we have to much talent to be in the bottom half of a very weak league. Finish strong the next 2 and see what happens in the BTT

Respectfully, that collection of teams just isn't that good currently/this season.
I agree with that but you have to be pretty bad to score 30 or less. Not one team hit 50 points. I think that corner of the state are IU fans and been maybe been watching too much of this IU team and their shooting woes lol

I did not see any of the sectional at Greensburg but looking at the scores there were some close games but man just basing on the scores I would think it was pretty boring. How do you play an OT game at 30-25 or 3OT 38-36. I can understand when a 1A is going against a much better team but in the 3A section to have all the games in the 30's or 40's seems unwatchable. This coming from a coach that played 2 games in the 20;s trying to steal a win.

Painter shows up to watch him and now it’s confirmed that Sisley will be at the Purdue game Saturday night. Could he have shown up even if Painter didn’t come see him? Sure but there’s no doubt there’s correlation between CMP showing up Wednesday and Sisley coming for another visit not long after his last visit.
Even someone like me can connect those dots.

Not that he is any kind of expert, but my 11 year old (as of today) son talks non stop about the Colts drafting Bowers. Because of that, I’m on the Bowers train. I can’t see him falling to the Colts though.
Little Keet has and eye I can trust. I just don't see him dropping that far but if he does I hope that Colts snag him.

Not sure about you, but when the proverbial shit is hitting the fan with my profession, I double down the effort to get it turned around. This year, all I have seen is the status quo and a general ho hum attitude from across the board. This is what has made me turn. I can take losing, if I know or feel there is a plan of a attack to get things flipped. I have not seen anything to lead me to believe this is happening.
This is why everything is being scrutinized. There has been no pivot, no adjustments, no accountability, no introspection. It's beyond bizarre to be completely blunt and honest.
Exactly but he feels insolated and untouchable. at least that is how I perceive it.

I don't think Bowers moves the needle for the Colts. The TE is solid and getting better as is.
I wouldn't be upset if they took him, though.
You without question know much much more about this game than I do and I respect all you bring. I am just a fan of it. Bowers does something for me though. I think he with Mallory and Grandson give us something special. I hope he falls to the Colts. I agree TE is solid but I think this guy is gonna be special. The best teams in this league have a special TE.

But when I hear of players’ parents and families liking tweets criticizing Woodson for it, it’s obvious that Woodson’s no-show didn’t help anything. As to the theme that it’s “only one day of sectionals” or “only the first round of the tournament” ….. it’s a tournament. The thing about a tournament is only half the teams advance. If I’m a college coach and wanna make sure I see my guy(s), the first round is when I need to be there. Woodson’s already lost his chance to see Sisley.
This response is not directed at your statement just following up on what you said. The difference is we are light years behind the program that is out there doing it so even if there is no advantage the optics appear that way for sure. Maybe once upon a time IU could just swoop in like Kansas does or UK or Duke and get the prom queen to say yes because of who they are but those days are gone. If we want her we have to court her and make her think she is the one. Matt painter is great at that. Almost every recruit that Coach Knight showed up at games have talked about what that meant to them. No Coach has to be at all games but they need to be somewhere visible. A big part of this job is being visible and the optics. In the day of social media you have to be out and about and Painter is. Like him or not most IU fans are envious of him and his program. I would rather be ranked #1 and lose the first weekend every year than to be where IU is. Yet Painter is out there being where he needs to be to bring in kids year in and out that kick our ass. Its not a hard concept for anyone to understand. being at one game probably does not make a difference overall but the accumulation does. Get out and see the kids that you want in your program.

The families of these players know that and the other staffs are aware as well and trust me it is being used. There is a strong narrative out there that guys like Sisley and Mullins do not fit what CMW is looking for. As a high school player in the state of Indiana having the IU staff show up for your sectional game just means a little more. When the best program in the state the past decade makes the effort and says this is why we are where we are with guys just like you that fit OUR system the kids and parents are listening. For each of these guys every game the rest of this year could be their last competitive game of the year. Having the staff there is important. We all know what AAU is, not knocking I got my coaching start there but its not the same. IU is BLOWING it with 2 in state kids that mark my words will kill us for 4 years at either PU or ND. I said it with Braden Smith and I am saying it again. this staff is losing the recruiting battle in state and on the court to PU.

When is the draft and has CC already said she isn't coming back for SS year.
According tot he Fever its in 45 days now. The Fever will become the new team for anyone that has followed CC closely and for many within a 6 to 8 hour drive I would think. How many daughters in cities like St louis, CIncy louisville Kansas City etc are going to want to become Fever fans and begging Mom and Dad to take them to see the Fever. This is huge for the franchise, like her or not the Fever will have the most popular WNBA player in the league.

I think that he comes back but there are many NBA scouts that feel his size and quick release are so well suited that a year with an NBA team will be much more valuable that a year in college. My gut says he is back but I do have some concerns.
