  1. You're right, big step forward across the board. Jones is a really good get, top 1000 player nationally with multiple P5 offers. With that being said, he will likely be one of the lowest rankes guys in this class. Going back a few years, 2017 class he would have been the 5th best ranked player.
  2. That is a little surprising. I felt like we had a good shot here. If he wants to join that sinking ship more power to him. Definitely like where our recruiting is right now. Not a huge blow to the class if we miss out. Makes me think with Mullen committed and Spells as a possibility the staff backed off a little.
  3. Pretty bold prediction, even with all the official visitors that have been on campus this month. Hope he is right.
  4. I was thinking the same thing. Not knocking the kid for taking the opportunity to get a BIG level education and play football while doing it. But his offer list is virtually nonexistent. There are two guys Brohm have picked up recently that had 0 power 5 offers outside of PU. It reminds me of Lynch recruiting at the moment.
  5. Wow....Brohm is either a genius or desperate. Offer list was Navy, Hanover, and Valpo. Outside of the DL they just got, and Brady Allen, this class is looking a little light for PU. I know it's early and things can change, but if I were a PU fan I would be a little disappointed so far.
  6. Greg Rakestraw was on 1070 this week and said Montgomery wasn't going to IU since he is very likely a late 1st round pick. He didn't have any inside information, just making his opinion known. I hope he is wrong, but you can't blame a kid taking life-changing money as a 1st rd pick.
  7. Clearly there's interest if he is willing to pay his way to visit. My guess is he will fill his final OV based on these other visits. Likely a long shot we get him, but it shows how far this program has come that someone of that caliber is willing to pay money to visit IU. Absolutely incredible.
  8. This isn't a knock on our Purdue poster, I really like what he brings to the board. However, I found it very entertaining. https://www.offtackleempire.com/2021/5/28/22457458/purdue-the-absolute-worst-sports-program-in-big-ten-football-basketball-brees-tiller
  9. I would guess Hagan just for the fact he is a solid recruiter and seems to have connections all over.
  10. I don't think they will be much competition. They need to have 6+ wins this year, or Brohm will be on a very hot seat.
  11. I would gladly take an athletic guy with an arm as a developmental player. The depth chart is pretty deep at that position right now. I doubt we could land a highly ranked guy this year because of that.
  12. Agree completely guys. I think Iowa is good, but not that good. They have some really talented pieces coming back, but lost some really good players to the draft too. I don't know their roster really well, but I doubt they have someone as talented as Smith-Marsette at WR. Frost, Brohm, and Harbaugh are all three at the Missouri stage of their current gig. "Show Me"
  13. Sure looks like something might be brewing with that tweet.
  14. I think for Brohm to avoid a hot seat, and kill the rest of the recruiting mometum, they need to go at least 6-6. They probably need to find a way to get two wins out of the ND, OSU, Minnesota, Northwestern, Iowa, Wisconsin, IU games. That will be tough. If they only get one out of that, there's no room for error with their other 2 nonconference games, Illinois, Nebraska, and Michigan St.
  15. I like the fact he had Purdue at 4-8.
  16. It's remarkable how far the program has progressed in just a couple of seasons. 7 wins would be considered a mild disappointment with games vs Cincy, Iowa, OSU, UM, and PSU. Plus Maryland has a talented group (questionable coach), and Rutgers isn't the pushover they once were. I think we win the bucket game but it's very unlikely it will be a blowout.
  17. https://sports.yahoo.com/predicting-every-big-ten-football-213443723.html This guy has us going 9-3. I would be very happy with that.
  18. Obviously the size of this class is subject to change, with the extra year of eligibility, transfers in and out, and possible early NFL draft entries. I would think we take at least 4 DL with the attrition that group had this year. No idea if it would be split evenly between interior line and DE or not.
  19. He has been high on IU for a while. Isn't he close friends with another high priority target?
  20. I think Hendershot was probably a few dropped passes away from being comfortably in the top 10... *cough* Penn St. *cough*
  21. Thanks for posting Rico. Some of those aren't terribly bold, and several are vague. IU takes a step back...that could mean 6-6 or 10-2.
  22. Makes you wonder if this guy has connections or is just spitballing.
  23. I know it's probably unrealistic, but you look at a potential defense that has Moore, the three McCullough boys, Curry, Strickland, and Trevell Mullen....wow
  24. From an article on the IU rivals site... His plans to recruit other players to Indiana: “I am pretty excited to let them know what we are building here, especially some of the top players in Indiana for whom this is home to them. I’ll just be letting them know this is a real family here and coach Allen is doing a great job. I will be here for everybody’s official visits (in June)."
