The players might be good guys bit the super stars of today is why I dislike the NBA.  The guys just trying to run the league and getting together to form super teams.  I have the load management and players missing games when they are healthy.

The Lakers and Celtics we're like super teams but it was through good drafting and trades.  I couldn't see guys like Magic and Bird getting together and try to form a super teams.

Scott my friend, first the Spurs (5 titles since 99, covering 15 years) then, following their model, the Dubs, 3 titles since 2015 (and may be on track for another right now) grew their franchises from within, drafting, development, and at times excellent trade work (the one i disliked, as the exception from a competitive standpoint, was Durant). That’s 8 titles since 99, and both are outstanding franchises built right.
And with that has come multiple incredible players including guys who will go down as among the best ever, Duncan, Curry, and with that outstanding coaching, Pop one of the best to ever grace the sidelines.

there were many great teams of the 70s and 80s and guys like Bird, MJ, Magic are as amazing today as they were then, but there are great teams and franchises in today’s NBA and built from within.
Side note, if you want to see a truly amazing player who isn’t yet in this discussion but i’d bet on him getting there - Ja Morant - man he is just so much fun to watch, genuinely incredible, and the Dubs - Grizz series is a blast.
Life goes on after the 70s! :)

Haha no, I'd say borderline playoff team. Somewhere between 7-11 in the conference, unless they make some moves.

C’s looked solid defensively tn, and pounding a good Miami team. Romeo now 10-20 and 5-10 from deep over 5 and playing 27 min— maybe the hand injuries finally behind him? Had a strong summer, seems to be carrying it over well. hope so.
I’m not putting a fork in your C’s, i’d bet on their finding their stride if they’ve moved past the chemistry - tell the two young dogs to look to others and pass more thing (which, imo, was totally fair, though publicly not so great).
Side note Gleas, OG is really starting to show… 😁

Huge opportunity for Paul George tonight. While he's certainly a great player, he has this perception of shrinking in the big moments in the playoffs. He has a chance to completely change that narrative tonight and the rest of this series with Kawhi out.

    What say you @Hoosierhoopster?

Seems like he did ok 😁

That's strange. I didn't know that Texas's outage are affecting other states. Not saying it's not true, but why does this only seem to be affecting Jasper? I also thought that Texas had their own power grid: There's an east power grid, a west power grid and a Texas power grid. So why would Texas be drawing specifically on Jasper's power, who is connected to the East grid, and not my city's power, who is also in Indiana and connected to the East grid.? This stuff is over my head, but I am curious if anybody can clarify that.

Hope @Hoosierhoopster, @IUFLA and other Texas Hoosiers are hanging in there and staying warm.

3 days without power, pipe burst, it’s been a blast lol. But got power back tonight. It’s been nuts

Thinking of our friends in Texas. @IUFLA @Hoosierhoopster and anyone else in that area. I’m not sure what part of Texas you fellas are in. Fort Worth area is all I’ve seen so far.

There is a viral video showing some of the tragic pile up. I can’t imagine being the one holding that phone and feeling helpless while witnessing such a horrific accident.

    Prayers to all

Really sad and awful. It’s I35 W in the Dallas - Fort Worth area just outside downtown I think it was the expressway, over 130 vehicles. @IUFLAand I are on the greater Houston area, appreciate the thoughts. Texans in the Dallas - Fort Worth area have more experience than Southeast Texans with ice storms and some snow but no chance on ice-slicked roads, and yeah people drive really fast here and especially on the interstates.

Wow the Pacers ended up losing 119-110.  Pacers held them to 18 in the first quarter but gave up 101 in the last 3 quarters.  Pacers defense is horrendous and couldn't make a stop in the 4th and was outscored 37-14 in the 4th

Pacers had nothing on the Nets last night. Nets gave up an 18 point lead and 6 in the final 4 seconds to lose lol

I can't see Baylor going through the big 12 undefeated.  They still play at Texas, OU, WVU and KU.  Surely, one of those teams will poke the Bear.  You never know.   I do agree, however, these Baylor and Gonzaga are way above the rest of the field.

Texas just strikes me as really dangerous. I wouldn't want to play them in March.

  8. Keeping it simple you are better off just dollar cost averaging, keep investing regularly, if in the market at least 10 years. Over time most will do / perform better than trying to time the market or catch a hot stock, which is seriously more risky

I have to say I have been wrong about Myles Turner because he is playing very well this season.  He has really stepped up since the VO trade and have scored better. Pacers can't catch a break because they are already without two starters(Lavert, Warren) now Sabonis went out of the game tonight and will miss the rest of the game.  They are playing at home against Toronto and they are in a defensive battle at half with the Pacers up 70-60

Pacers pulled it out - what I noticed is with Lowry back OG took only 8 shots (and went 4-8) while Lowry went like 2-11 and Toronto is back to losing. (no Siakim but will be interesting to see if they keep playing OG in only a supporting role player role as Lowry and Siakim get back).
OG is recognized in Toronto, just got the nice contract and they’re gradually increasing his offensive role (kind of like Kawhi’s gradual move into primary scorer in on Spurs), but he can do so much more than he’s tasked to do right now.

  10. Looking for some good 5G infrastructure stocks/companies. 5G will be huge. Apple is always good and already has it coming in its next phone but finding some more under the radar but good long term bets is a good idea. Still love Apple though

  11. O&G will be around as fuel for a long time, Blockbuster Video (which I miss) was replaceable quickly. But agree it’s going away and should in the big picture over time, it’s not sustainable and it’s killing the environment, that’s clear. So which or how many of the alternatives will survive and take off? Probably a mix but fuel cells / battery powered vehicles are about to boom. Tesla was the real beginning, but the heavy hitters are now investing and starting to produce heavily, will Tesla hold its own as GM, Ford et al come in heavily? Doubt it, economies of scale are against Tesla but it does have infrastructure and consumer confidence early
