  1. Because it’s based on progam talent and not geography. I already mentioned in another thred that the north/south is the only geo based method that works but as others have pointed out, even that only does so if IU and Rutgers continue to improve and stay consistent.
  2. I think a Penn St for Illinois or Purdue is a fair swap
  3. I have to Imagine Nebraska will find a way to be relevant again and if Rutgers is going to recruit like this under Schiano, they’ll be at the top of the conference in no time. It’s not perfect but it’s better than what we have now.
  4. Ive been wanting to move to a North v South setup for years. South: IU, Purdue, OSU, Illini, Nebraska, Rutgers and Maryland vs North: Iowa, NW, Minny, Wisky, UM, MSU and PSU. Without a random assortment, hard to see us getting away from OSU every year but this at least levels the field.
  5. Allen has zero chance to start as a freshman even at Purdue. The game he plays at Gibson Southern vs BigTen football couldn’t be more different and it will take more than one off season for him to catch up. Your “stud” didn’t belong on the same field as Columbus North or Whiteland, what makes you think he’s ready for Iowa, Wisconsin and IU?
  6. I really want both Moore and Strickland. I also think we should be able to flip Alfonzo Allen with ASU being in all thr trouble their in right now. Gaines would be great but those other guys fill an absolute need.
  7. Any info as to why the instate schools haven’t offered except TCU? Even if he’s not A&M or UT caliber, I would have expected the likes of Baylor, Tech, Houston, and SMU to be after him. Especially given the high profile HS program he plays for.
  8. Richard Thomas is also 4-Star on ESPN, Josh Hoover one point behind 4-star status at 79, could move up
  9. Anyone know the target size of this class? With the covid rules it’s really hard to figure out how many scholarships are available
  10. If he doesn’t win this year I fully expect him to be gone. Outside of the miracle win against OSU and a couple big recruiting wins, he’s accomplished literally nothing
  11. Yea no kidding. What the hell is this list based off of?
  12. I agree. I’ve said this before, he’d have one heck of a leg up with McCulley. This kid looks special on film so playing time shouldn’t be an issue at either school
  13. These instate recruits weren’t likely to grow up die hard Hoosier fans. It takes years of sustained success to achieve that status with in state kids. Sometimes kids just want to go somewhere new and have an experience. We have a ways to go as a program before IU is too big a deal to turn down to have that experience.
  14. Purdue has lost 3 or more of their top recruits from the last couple classes to transfer also.
  15. Of course. I expect our overall to be solid. It’s just such a flawed metric when class sizes and actual needs very from school to school.
  16. Well the average can only really go down from here. Dasan is what’s driving our 90pt avg score. We’re only recruiting 4-5 more fringe 90pt guys and who knows how many we’ll land but I hope we can end up in the top 4-6 in the Big based on averages
  17. I really hope we can land this kid. The chemistry he will already have with McCulley would be priceless and I’m tired of not landing the top in state talent.
  18. It can’t be easy for a TE to go from Ramsey to Penix. The ball comes at the receiver at incredibly difficult angles and velocity. Hopefully working with Tuttle will help him adapt better. Where I thought Hendershot shined was going up and getting Ramsey’s 50/50 balls...those are a thing of the past.
  19. I did take a quick look at the Twitter page out of curiosity and while he still had his tweet of “one year ago today” (his OSU offer) from a couple weeks ago, more interesting to me was his congrats tweet to Tamar Bates, and referring to him as family. They didn’t go to the same hs when both were still in KC so I’m kinda curious if “fam” is IU related.
  20. My take on this currently is that he wants the challenge and bright lights of OSU football and won’t be flipping unless somehow his parents convince him to; however, no one knows if Deland and his wife would even push that on him. I can kinda see it both ways as my dad and older brother are both Purdue alumns but there was 0% chance of me going there...that being said, if my dad’s paycheck and thus the food on my table came from Purdue, I can’t imagine he’d be supportive of me going to a rival school and actively challenging his career. If it were me, I’d have to either flip to IU or go play for a team in a different conference. Will be very interesting to see how this plays out.
  21. 5 years ago I’d look at that list and think “well, no way we compete with that crowd”...now they don’t compete with IU. These are amazing times for this program
  22. Get these kids the Whoop band. It’s incredible in how it produces work load/ recovery data. If we have $10m for buyouts, surely this is in the budget
