  1. Yes, I'm sure that is his ACTUAL reason, but my guess is the McNeely's used the rumors as the reason to get out.
  2. My total guess is, Liam used the coaching change rumors as a reason to get out of his LOI. Coaching staff tells the administration about it. Administration had no intention of changing coaches, so they release that in an attempt to keep McNeely.
  3. If this is our starting lineup, God help us.
  4. I'm fine if we played through the post... if we could shoot, if our big men kicked it out, or if guards did something other than watch when the ball was in the post. Obviously, not being able to shoot doesn't entice big guys to kick it out. But if Woodson truly is trying to do that, how about emphasizing cuts to the basket and actually moving?
  5. Problem with us playing inside out is, we lack the "out". Pretty easy to for 5 defenders to guard two post players
  6. The "get out of the bleeping way" has been the issue for this administration for decades.
  7. Yeah, he's not taking a pay cut. And if he did, there'd be big, easy to reach incentives putting him over what he's making.
  8. This administration aids and provokes this idiocy. IU sits here and says their expectation is more banners... B10 championships... we hire a former IU player (where's he gonna go if he has massive success?!) He takes us to the tournament, which is not necessarily a WOW goal for the coach or administration... what do we do? Give him $1 million extra and an extension. Wasn't that expected with his original salary?! Make the tournament? How about the coach actually show some sustained success and deep tourney runs before we go bonkers with money and extensions. The administration is saying we want big things, and when little things happen, we treat it like it's a monumental success.
  9. This. And he's still adored by many in the state going back to his USI days.
  10. Maybe Woodson was referring to our actual shots when he was talking about "4 out, 1 in".
  11. For me, it'd be for a failure to establish a culture and identity that we were expecting from a guy that played for Bob Knight. No toughness, no fight, no fundamentals, etc.
  12. Unfortunately, this is 100% correct. Can't have a coach that the administration can't control and can't have someone "bigger" than them.
  13. I think he would be very selective, no doubt. But I think Indiana is one of the few programs he'd jump ship for.
  14. Yeah, I know. Which is why Dusty May would be the most realistic coach. But if enough donors are tired of losing, Pearl and Beard are my first calls.
  15. I do know that one major donor that previously fit the "squeaky clean" preference has become extremely frustrated over the past decade and is willing to look past a few things now
  16. Yeah, I could definitely see this being a scenario. Retire and save face.
  17. Why? He'd be the best shooter on the team with that clip
  18. My issue with these Woodson led teams is a lack of identity. What are we going to hang our hat on? Defense? Nope. Low turnovers? Nope. Shooting? Nope. Tenacity and hustle? Nope. I thought having a Bob Knight player, especially an older one, would mean not putting up with a lack of hustle. Not putting up with awful defense. Basics. Things you'd expect from an Indiana team. Couple that with a continued lack of recruiting to needs. We've needed shooters for a long time. We never get them. It's frustrating.
  19. But honestly, he isn't doing a terrible job as GM. I'm sure he's hovering over the shoulder of every coach and player, which is probably the issue. But as far as roster building and drafting, it's hard to argue that they have a ton of talent on the team.
