Tamar Bates Commits to INDIANA!!
Danomatic replied to Between2Halls's topic in General Basketball Discussion
I agree, but also think that weâll run a three guard set more often than not... especially given the length. I think Lander takes a huge step in the right direction as well. Rob, Parker and Leal will all have active roles too, I would imagine. KL showed some fantastic small glimpses of what he can become for a stretch this past season. Personally, Iâd look for Gerome to play a bigger role in the post next season. -
Brunk to OSU, imo, is a combination of Holtman originally recruiting him to Butler - and Woodson likely(respectfully) letting him know that he doesnât fit the mold of what heâs trying to do here... not saying JB couldnât have been successful, but most likely taking a dive in minutes played being a primary factor.

Jalen Washington (2022) Commits to North Carolina

Dane Fife will definitely help us here... not saying that we land JW, but if there were ever anyone who could sell the vision of restoring this sleeping giant - itâs Fife. He knows whatâs in store for him and how important it is for CMW to be successful. I really like the fact that heâs been on JW for so long, and this would make the transition of losing TJD a lot smoother(even though theyâre completely different players). Lots to look forward to in the future. -
Probably right, and he doesnât have to take any ownership either. UC people canât stand their AD. That speaks volumes.

I live in southeastern Indiana, and listen to ESPN 1530 out of Cincinnati a lot. The entire thing is bizarre, because theyâre saying that the administration opened up an investigation, without talking to Brannen about anything. Then they found him guilty of nothing, so theyâre launching another investigation, but nobody has any clue as to why! I think and ESPN 1530âs radio guys suggest that the AD is trying to save face for players entering the transfer portal. âHELLOâ itâs not like it isnât happening everywhere! đ Itâs a mess right now. Remember my Hoosier brethren, it could always be much, much worse!

For those worried about recruiting... stop, itâs a waste of time. Woodson can and will use his NBA connections and experience. Woody will likely have some battles trying to win guys over from K, Izzo, Williams, Self etc. However, if getting guys into the league is of concern, then many of your up and comers canât claim that. Who and how many has Oats, Beard and Muss put in the league? Thatâs a battle for them too. Now, Iâm certainly not taking anything away from their abilities to coach the game, but just stating the fact that recruits donât always reference how many players you put into the league... otherwise Cal would land the top kids every year. In fact, kids usually donât have as much say in where theyâre going, or at least not as much as what weâd all like to think. I expect Woody to land some top tier kids based on who he knows. What he does with them will directly impact his recruiting after that... just my thoughts.
-
My opinion - but theyâll need to overpay for a Fife or Lewis. Maybe give Calbert a couple years on the bench, then let him go cut his teeth elsewhere.
-
I think that he will entice a lot of high profile players to come, considering his NBA schematics.

I personally believe that this will work. I donât buy into the âno college coaching experience, or the settled for alum because nobody else wanted the jobâ talk. I wanted Stevens like everyone else. However, I believe that given the proper support, he can flourish. If Woodson can get TJD, Lander, Franklin, Geronimo and Thompson back into the fold... we can win next season, and finish top 5 in the conference. We were in almost every game this past season. I donât honestly know much about Stewart, but if we can add a solid transfer or two... we could win a lot of those games that we lost this year. If IU puts the right staff around him, I think the program can get headed in the right direction.

It's time.... HIRE BRAD STEVENS!

Sorry, Iâve been away for a bit, but Iâm really uncertain. I heard that there was a possibility that they might essentially swap with Silver Creek, but nothing concrete. Iâm pretty disappointed in the move myself. We always took great pride in beating the bigger schools, in all sports, when I attended. Winning records in football. Back to back final four state finishes in basketball. Also, nearly back to back state titles in baseball, winning one. To me, lowering the bar for lesser competition is irritating.

The Cubs lose quite a bit after the season, but youâll have that with six seniors. Their 8th grade class is pretty solid and should be decent in a couple of years. Theyâll return a couple of kids that have got some big minutes, next season. The Dragons ended up being too much in the last period.
-
Not having Northern hurts for sure. I havenât heard why, but Iâll have to check with his dad later. The Dragons pulled ahead, but itâs a nail biter, and might come down to the end of the game. Kaufman looks better thus far in the second half. The Cubs have some quick perimeter players that can shoot and get to the rim. The Dragons might be better off going to a zone.
-
Silver Creek struggling against a much smaller, but quicker Madison team tonight. Kaufman is having a hard time as well.... not sure about points, but he isnât scoring much. I think heâs grown a little wider, but he could get bullied his freshman year. Seems to be getting beat to his spot on both sides of the court tonight.

A little late here, but truly disappointed with Vic. I think that I wouldâve been less upset if he chose not to go to Orlando at all, given the circumstances. I still have lots of love for him, however, if he moves on in free agency... his legacy will leave a sour taste in a lot of Hoosier/Pacer fanâs mouths. Again, lots of love for Vic, but Iâm disappointed.

Absolutely agree here. Also thought that Race looked comfortable taking the outside shot last season, albeit a poor percentage.... but that can improve with reps. I really think Hunter can be a versatile threat.

Logan Duncomb (2021) commits to IU!

Lander will be here for at least two years. Iâd be surprised if TJD came back for a third, but not completely if he loves the college game or gets valuable information. -
On a positive note... Vic actually looked like his old self tonight.
-
I donât think heâs on the hot seat yet, nor do I think kids believe that. However, the kids that we target wonât come IF what we produce on the court is poor. Thatâs what they see, therefore thatâs how coaches lose their jobs, or how theyâre put on the hot seat in the first place. Win and theyâll come.
-
I agree and folks need to know, Archie wonât be given a leash like Crean had previously. If this season doesnât equal a ticket to the dance, winning a game or two.... Archie will be immediately placed on the hot seat.

âTests revealed a Deep Venous Thrombosis in the young Lakers forward's right arm.â - per CBS Sports on Brandon Ingrim. Isnât this the same problem that Jerome Hunter had?

DeRozen is only about himself.
