  1. A couple of things on Boogie: 1. I know some Kentucky people who are afraid of getting into a bidding war with IU. They are convinced that NIL is how Indiana Basketball returns to prominence, and are confident that IU boosters like Cuban, the Cooks etc could just throw an unearthly amount of money towards recruits… and even though that isn’t truly the case, I do agree to an extent that IUBB will greatly benefit via NIL. 2. Boogie just seems like a fantastic young man with a high IQ for the game, and an all around level-headed kid in general.
  2. I get it, but what I meant to say and should’ve added, was that once FB made it clear that he wasn’t 100% interested in IU and he’d always liked duke… did we turn our priorities to the more polished player? I just don’t think that it was a coincidence that Queen came to the forefront once FB said that he’d been waiting on a Duke offer.
  3. I’m obviously not saying that this happened, but is it possible that something changed on our end recently? As in, perhaps our staff decided not to prioritize Flory, and felt more comfortable moving forward with Queen? All smoke and mirrors here, but I haven’t the slightest idea how we don’t make his final four unless we backed off. I really won’t pretend to know anything about this recruitment, other than things ended weird.
  4. Agreed. This is the easiest way for him to distance himself from them and his family.
  5. Just read about the Hoosiers currently in the NBA… and saw where Romeo is officially free to sign with anyone since the Spurs declined their team option on him. I really had high hopes for him and understand that he’s only 23, and that there’s still plenty of time to recover. Honestly though, he’s been underwhelming this far. I really hope that he can figure it out, and staying healthy is a big part of that. Noah Vonleh’s NBA career may also be over. While Gordon, Zeller, Bryant and Vic all have new homes. Rumors of OG being traded etc.
  6. Jahvon Quinerly has just entered the portal from Bama, unless this is old news and I missed it.
  7. That’s true, they’ve been a resilient bunch, but you can’t rely on those outcomes all season. That being said, their offense is becoming a juggernaut since calling up ELDC and McLain. If they can remain competitive until they get their pitchers back from the IL, they can change the playoff landscape.
  8. This appears to be just the beginning for the Reds. Can’t win them all, but they can start another streak tomorrow.
  9. Yes, you would lose the entire fanbase and cause irreparable damage throughout baseball if they were to even consider moving Elly or McLain. They could probably get ELDC for peanuts if they offered him 10 + $300 million, or 8 + $240. When he becomes a free agent, he could demand an astronomical price tag. Pay him for 10 years and he’s 31/32 when the contract is over.
  10. I think you hold onto India until Marte is ready. Then you can move India and get a nice haul for him, as long as Marte becomes what we all think he will. I believe that Senzel is an intriguing piece right now. He and Maile could get you a couple of really decent arms to boot, along with another prospect or two. As long as they don’t give up CES, Marte, or Collier, I’d be fine with a move or two.
  11. I just hope that the Reds don’t give up CES for a rental or two year player. That guy can absolutely rake too. It’ll be tough to sustain this offense, and I know that Greene and Lodolo are still a ways from returning, but… if they can somehow manage to remain a threat without giving away much, I like their chances. What a fun team to watch!
  12. While I’m mixed about his ability to play to his potential at this level… this would be another recruiting win over another “blue blood” program.
  13. New landscape in college basketball. Yes, I think upperclassmen are important, but from what I’ve heard, we’ll be replacing 6-8 every year via transfers and recruits. I would like 4-5 developed kids from our own program though. Just not sure kids are willing to wait for their opportunity anymore.
  14. Definitely about finding the right fit, and if you do fill it, grad transfer for sure. Hart may end up being a nice 4 yr player, but he’d just replace Leal at the bottom of the bench and doesn’t seem likely that he’d be much of an impact until his junior season.
  15. My comment was directed towards someone expecting Hart to commit. I think we would’ve already offered if that were the case.
  16. No, what we can expect is… Woody banking that scholarship and using it on one of the top 24 kids that we want to come to Bloomington.
  17. So “The Movement” class is all in their 30’s now… I do feel older, because I was 30 when they got to campus.
  18. Can’t steal both, since we only have one spot available. That being said, I’d rather land Reeves and leave that spot in 24 for a freshman.
  19. Me too. I think Flory has elite athleticism, but still viewed him as a raw pro prospect. Queen looks like an immediate contributor and more polished at this point. Not saying Flory won’t be amazing, but he does remind me a little of HMP.
  20. One has to wonder… is this indeed the new norm? I wasn’t sure where to post this, but thought that it might need its own thread. Since mostly everyone is reporting for summer workouts, I saw this tweet and found it intriguing. Evidently there are several kids that still are unclear on their immediate futures, and some haven’t reported to their new schools yet. As the tweet reads, this is primarily in regards to 4 and 5 star recruits. That being said, some of the no-shows are portal guys, including at the moment, Anthony Walker. Does anyone know why he hasn’t stepped on campus yet?
  21. I don’t think we can view the point guard position as singular any longer. So I’m not too sure that anyone would say anything about it. When it comes down to winning time, I’d bet that Woody would like to have his best ball handlers and free throw shooters on the floor together.
  22. Looking forward to seeing what this young man do to help the team.
  23. Sorry man, but it’s about to be busy again.
