  1. Vaccine arrived in Colorado this morning (Dec. 14).  We have a great friend, who is a health care worker. Who migrated to this country.  From Ukraine. Mrs. mile and my son attended her U.S. citizenship ceremony.  Got her nurse's license in Colorado. And has been treating patients tirelessly.  Will be placing a call to find out when she gets the shot.... as front line workers in Colorado are scheduled to get the shots first.

Been there and done that more than once. Whitewater rafting in WV. Been to Branson too, and rode those duckie boats whatever their called.

Have you seen this? Pretty good mash up I think.

Branson is pretty neat.  Been to shows there.  But never the Peterson's .

Thanks for that mash up.  Loved it.

May GOD bless you.  Stay safe.

Wasn't going to post this as this thread is pretty wore out and there have already been at least 2 lists in this category, but since it seems to be a completely different list and most importantly because of the Indiana choice. Here it is!

    Best Pizza in each State

Never heard of the one they have for Colorado.  But, stranger than that I have eaten at the one in Hawaii.

Not covid related but my grandma had a stroke at 73 and was paralyzed on the right side of her body and bedridden for 10 years before she died.

I lost my dad to a heart attack at 45, and I held his hand as he left this world. Lost my only living grandpa the year before.

So I guess my worldview is a bit jaded because I've I lost so much in a short period of time.

I guess my point is I share your empathy, but its hard to have emotions because I lost so much in such a short time.

Thanks for sharing.  I honestly feel your pain.  May GOD bless you.

Watching KU vs Creighton and Robbie Hummel is doing the game.  they were talking about one player for Creighton who thought he was going to go to KU after seeing the atmosphere at the Allen Fieldhouse.  Hummel then said after he went to IU and Duke in AH he thought why wouldn't I go to IU.  He then said everyone knows I didn't go to IU

Not watching the game.  Hummel and his friend from Valpo.  Something about kids from "The Region"  opting out of IU over PU.

We talked about him and he’s an obvious story, but how about Jack Tuttle!  Everybody knows he was highly recruited.  But a lot of highly ranked, talented QBs are turnover machines or timid when they first played.

Tuttle stepped in for his first start and was nails.  On the road against a ranked team.  He got rocked in the head late and stayed in there and protected that lead.  Yes, our defense was lights out, but Tuttle deserves so much praise.

He carries himself great, and there’s just a toughness there that jumps out.  At the ultimate leader position, he flat out brought it.

And now that all that is behind him.  He’s got a road win against a ranked opponent on his resume already.  Now he can go up from there.

I loved how in his first interview after the game...Jack thanked GOD first... and then his head coach.

I am very comfortable with Tuttle at the controls of the IU machine.

Thank you. Tim was also at the induction center with a whole bunch of draftees. He and about 6 other guys were playing cards when a Marine recruiter walked in and said he need volunteers for the Marines. The recruiter looked at the table they were sitting at playing cards and said I will take you, you, you, you, you and you. So that whole table became Marines. LOL

I actually saw that happen at the Chicago Induction Center. A Marine picking and choosing.  Long story... but I did meet with the head guy of the draft center in Indianapolis, as I was attempting to get into the Army. He was a Navy guy.  My draft number was 364, which meant I would not have to go in.  He sent me back to Gary.  Walked into the Army center to meet a hopping mad Staff Sergeant... who had gotten the order to let me in.... and take away a guy he had already sworn in.

I've had the opposite experience...The USAF MADE you get a flu shot every year, and I was never sick the whole 20 years I was in (only relegated to quarters once...a week for a bad back)...First year I got out, didn't get one, and got sick like I'd never been sick before...Started taking them every year and haven't been sick (knocking on wood) since...

Might just be coincidence, but who knows...

When I was young. My mother took me to the doctor's office annually for a flu shot.  And I always got the flu. In the Army.... they lined us up.  Shots in the arm. With nothing said about what the shots contained.

Is anyone planning to get the vaccine, if one can get approved?

I started a thread before the pandemic.... asking if people get a flu shot.  I don't get a flu shot.  And don't get the flu.  Call me crazy, lucky or whatever.   And I will not be getting the covid vaccine.

Now.... I have no problem with those that choose to get the vaccine.  It's just not for me.

Thank you for your service my friend.

That's something I did not get while serving during the Viet Nam conflict.  In order to fly military, we were required to wear our dress uniforms.  Going through the airport in St. Louis, one day.... I got attacked by 6 college students.  My military training swung into action.  And they all took off running.

In terms of my 21 year old when I left for the Army.  We were engaged to be married.  She followed me to all my in state duty stations.  Then.... when I was on leave, and visited her in Chicago.... she gave me the engagement ring back. Much more to the story.  But I feel I have bored you too much by now.

I know restaurants have to be spending a fortune on heaters and propane around here. What’s it like for others?

Also, @milehiiu not sure if you remember Mimi’s Diner (that you had looked up), but they closed for good a week or so ago. That was a huge bummer for the neighborhood.

And one of our bodega’s closed, but it was the one that we didn’t go to as much. The kids that worked there never wore a mask and that doesn’t go down to well.

There's a Mimi's cafe in Lone Tree, Colorado.  One of Mrs. mile's favorite breakfast places

    Lone Tree – Mimi's Cafe

Now... some of you may have seen the lady in L.A.  Who spent $80K on outdoor seating.  Only to get shut down... all the while a movie production company has tents and seating for a movie production.... that is within an arms length of the lady who got shut down.... and the movie company is allowed to feed their people, while she can't take customers.

By the way.  Sorry to hear about Mimi's Diner.

I've never been to Hawaii at Christmas.  Actually, I've never been to Hawaii.

Bing Crosby - Mele Kalikimaka (Hawaiian Christmas Song) - YouTube

Highly recommend at least one trip to Hawaii.  First time we went.... cruised the islands.  7 islands in 8 days. The neat thing about that is the ship would leave a port at night.... and arrive at the next port the following morning. Now... Alaska is a different story. Beautiful state.  But ship can leave a port at night, and still be going to the next port till the middle of the next day.

Back in the day when there was no color tv.... Arthur Godfrey would broadcast from Honolulu.
