  1. I expect some rough games early. Too many new pieces and roles for a smooth start. The talent is there to be a really good team as the season processes. I might have picked a bad season to quit drinking.
  2. I hope you are right on the Thomas reference. Isiah was arguably the best player to play at IU in my lifetime. If Fland can be close to that we are going to be very, very good.
  3. My dr. won't allow it. Driver has to be present at check-in and provide a cell number contact for when the procedure is complete.
  4. I'm not going to trash the coaches because I'm sure they don't want to lose or be the butt of jokes. However, this is beyond a dumpster fire, it's a tire fire at this point. The question is whether or not there is another win on the schedule.
  5. Been a fan since the late 50's and except for a few years IU football has been abysmal. I follow now but don't get too invested. I don't expect a lot of wins, but I would like to see fundamentally sound, competitive play.
  6. I read the filing and it was beyond disturbing. Local law enforcement apparently misrepresented some witness statements or flat out changed some of the details. And, seemed to have done a very poor job processing the crime scene. My take away was that this is going to be anything but a slam drunk conviction of Richard Allen. Also, whoever the person or persons who killed those young girls was a very sick, sadistic person(s).
  7. I thought the sky is always falling.
  8. Is Liam's mom with him on this visit like she for Kansas? If so, given how good CMW is with parents, that would be a good thing.
  9. I've not felt this good about an IU basketball coach in a long time.
  10. He was a summer tradition for me and various family members from the mid-80's to 2009. The early years seemed the best to me. It was really more of a party than a concert sometimes. We always sat in the lawn and enjoyed the crowd. Friendly people just looking to have a good time. Deer Creek in Noblesville always sold out and sometimes very fast. Never a bad time at a Jimmy Buffet show.
  11. I've been having problems with it too. I read it mostly on a Kindle and it doesn't display correctly. I struggle through the best I can but it's very frustrating.
  12. I live in the same area and lost a part of my cherry tree last night. Just finished cleaning it up.
  13. Jim Crews. I believe he started with Buckner as a freshman and then went to the bench when Wilkerson became a starter. I think he was the player who tipped the ball to Benson against Michigan to preserve the undefeated season. Of course, I could be wrong about everything.
  14. I know that pedestrians have the right of way and when driving that's what I do. But when I was running on the roads, and now when I'm walking, I want to decide when I cross. I will deliberately stand back from the crossing so that drivers won't see me about to cross. When it is clear, I cross. That way drivers don't have to wonder what I am about to do.
  15. Excellent point. I do a lot of walking through round about intersections and a lot of drivers want to let me cross. However, many of the crossings have two lanes and the other lane might not stop. I always prefer to choose the time to cross myself. I know they are trying to be helpful, but it is better to let the pedestrian make the decisions.
  16. I think he likes them based on what he sees in practice every day. He goes with who he thinks will give them the best chance for success. CMW doesn't just roll with a hunch that some guy will out perform their practice work. I know we like to look at match ups and think we know what might work better, but I'm guessing most of the time coach knows best.
  17. We don't need that one. We have better opinions already on the roster.
  18. I like the measureables. He fits the mold of what CMW wants on this team. I'm sure he had the end of season conversation with Woodson. He knows what he needs to do to get on the court. Now we will see how bad he wants it. I'm an Indy area guy, so I pull a little harder for Indy kids. How hard CMW goes after filling that last scholarship will tell me a lot about how he feels about who we already have.
  19. I participate in dry eye studies and have for about six years. I have learned through this experience to take anything a drug maker says with a huge grain of salt. I'm in the final phase of trials right before the company seeks approval. The studies I have been in are designed so that the drug gets approved. They control the criteria so that it looks promising. Not exactly a fair trial. And the amount of advertising money that flows into news organizations discourages and negative reporting about pharmacy activities.
  20. First world problems for sure, but imagine what third world problems are. Never an excuse for poor customer service and that seems to be the case more and more.
  21. Purdue is almost always good in conference because Matt Painter is a magician at maximizing what he has. He has a style of play and he recruits to that with great success. It's the teams from other conferences that are the problem because they don't play that way. Teams who have the players to force Edey away from the basket will be a problem, especially if they have athletic guards. Maybe Purdue will have enough, and it will take a good draw, to get it done this year. But I don't think anyone is afraid of Pursuers supporting cast.
  22. Nearly everyone back who were major contributors for starters. If you are counting on freshmen to replace some of the older guys, then you have more confidence in them than I do. I like our freshman class too, but most of them won't be difference makers for us either. I like Coach Painter a lot, but the style of play may be his undoing. The college game is moving to an NBA style, like it or not. Personally, I don't but it is a reality. It takes athletes more than anything. I think, and could be wrong, that your backcourt will be a weakness that other teams can exploit once again.
  23. The conference will be really good at the top. The usual suspects will be doing what they always do. I think we will be an entirely different animal next season. More length, more athleticism, more versatility, and more quality depth. To me, we will be built for more success in the post season. Purdue will be good, especially at the start of the year, but they are essentially the same as last season and I don't think that translates to the tournament. MSU, much the same with better incoming players. It's the style that ultimately doesn't work. I think we are moving to one that does.
