I can’t believe I lived to see Purdue embrace Creaning. I remember back when it was a dirty thing that only shady coaches would resort to.

I think Painter did a really good job of putting the right pieces around Edey. Next year he will just have the pieces. His best bet would be to plug in another big, but there aren’t many (if any) other bigs as good as Edey.

One of the more entertaining parts of this season has been watching Gregg Doyell turn into a huge Purdue fan and noticing he can’t even cover them without mentioning IU constantly.

I’d agree except for the weird announcement that he wasn’t leaving. I don’t know why he said that if there was even a chance he would leave.

I agree. Most of the fans on message boards are out there with their theories and need to have an ‘inside’ source. For the most part, the fans (including the ones not on the internet) are supportive of the players and program. The alumni base is big and there is always talk about being set after playing for IU. A good example is Leal already working in real estate. If you add in NIL I’m not sure UM (strictly as a program, settle down on coaching, style of play, etc.) I don’t think they have anything better.

This seems like an interesting long term strategy.

Sounds like you just made your own tallow. I’ve seen some people buy the special wagyu stuff, but I’m not convinced it makes much of a difference. The long hold is a key that a lot of the big bbq places do. I don’t think the method matters as long as it is held in the 140-160 range.

Duke fans throwing stuff on the court after a loss. After the backlash IU fans got for tweets I’m excited to see the media backlash. I’m sure it will be brutal and not at all ignored. I can’t imagine what they’ll say when you factor in the obviously dirty play by Filipowski. Will player safety still be important?

I’m confident they will. We have football season tickets and I was constantly impressed at the student section. I kept expecting it to be empty and it never was.

Down around Louisville there is an air show every year for Thunder Over Louisville that happens 2 weeks before the Kentucky Derby. I’m not very into planes but they always have some cool ones. If you’re in the area it is worth checking out.

That is just the reality of the situation. I think he knows that if next year is bad there are no more years. Focusing on making next year as good as it can be also gives him a chance to gain some momentum. With all the talk about how teams struggle that rely too much on the portal, it would be pretty impressive to have a good year. With all the issues mentioned, this isn’t a concern to me. I look at it as taking one step at a time.

Still thinking both of those guys you mentioned end up in the portal?

I hope you’re right on that. I think getting even 1 or 2 of that group would calm some people down. At the end of the day recruiting is about relationships so I don’t like applying 1 size fits all strategies to it.

It’s been very entertaining. I’m worried next year the whole media will lose interest and just move on. Iowa fans could have an interesting year. Without her I’m not sure they’re anything special.
