Even Marsh commented on the hip check. He shouldn't have put himself in position to get that flag, but man, can't help but feel bad for the guy. Practice squad guy who makes a monster play, then gets a weak flag.

Man that taunting penalty was terrible. Then the ref hip checking Marsh lol. Reffing is so bad this season that it has made the NFL hard to watch at times.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed the hip check. He didn't throw the flag during the entire taunting, waits for him to turn, jog back, hip checks him, throws the flag, and then stares at him. He had his hand on the flag the whole time and kept waiting until way after the taunting was over.

Missed the game but just saw this per CBS' Cody Benjamin:
Why the Bears lost
Poor coaching. There were other issues, of course, but none bigger than that one. Case in point: Fields had his second straight coming-out party as an NFL QB, but only after enduring pretty lifeless play-calling for a whole half of action, in which Matt Nagy's staff seemed uninterested or incapable of making the rookie comfortable. Nagy's clock management also left something to be desired, but even worse, penalties set them back time and time again, costing them 115 yards, to be exact. Some were bad calls (Jaylon Johnson pass interference, Cassius Marsh taunting), but others (Robert Quinn offsides twice) showcased an apparent lack of discipline. Chicago fought hard, there's no doubt, with Fields and, really, the entire defense coming to play in crunch time, but it's fairly easy to see this team lost because of the decision-makers up top -- the guys who assembled and oversee this roster.
My favorite stupid coaching decision of the night was to kick a 66 yard field goal as time expired that came up probably 10-15 yards short. Santos is no Justin Tucker. There was a 0% chance of that ever being made, why not take the 1% chance on a hail mary.

In my superflex, ppr league, we have 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 flex, 1 superflex, and 3 individual defensive players...I'm currently projected for 108 points. Just had 205 points 2 weeks ago. Only 4 of my 12 guys had over 10 points this week, and only 2 guys were over 11 points. Rough week.

CTA’s #1, main objective after every game is to keep his team together mentally. Listening to both his post game interviews, you can really tell this season has taken a huge toll on HIM mentally too. His voice is more quiet and his words are filled with inner misery and disbelief. After witnessing CTA bark at Sheridan on National TV last night and then reference that incident in a post game interview, tells a lot.
I remember during DeBord's last season, about half way through the year, Allen talked more and more that he wasn't happy with the offense. You could see him getting more frustrated each week. Seems like this year is kind of similar.

This could be interesting. Looks like Murray is going to be out, so my superflex team has Jordan Love at QB, and a WR in my superflex spot in a must win game. Really need it for playoff purposes, and I have the 1st round pick of the team I'm playing. Big game for me to be down Murray, Wilson, Barkley, and Kittle on a snap count.

I don't think they make it into the CFP. They will have to settle for NY's bowl again.
I agree. I think they'll really need things to fall right for them to make it.

Cross Wake off the CFP list.
UC probably drops down in the standings.
Part of me hopes Cincinnati makes it in and gets to play Georgia. So tired of all their hype. If they played in the B1G, I don't think they'd even be a top 25 team.

We are playing our Red shirt/ 3rd string QB because our team has enough injuries to fill a ward in a hospital...... What type of stats were you expecting?
If we would have started the year strong and faded with injuries, sure, but we've been horrible all year before any injuries started happening.
I'm not expecting us to be one of the best in the country with a 3rd string QB, but we we've been one of the worst offenses in the country all year.

This is our 4th B1G game out of 6 with less than 265 yards of total offense, and 7 points or less.

I mean what other team has had to resort to using their third string QB due to the amount of injures their team has had? I don’t even think an NFL team could win if they had to play a third string QB for most of the season.
Our offense sucked with our 1st and 2nd string QBs too.

To be clear, I'm still firmly an Allen fan. That's how I feel about the offense.
Gotcha. Kind of thought that was what you were going for, but wasn't 100%.

To be honest, it feels like the end of Archie Miller's tenure. I'm watching because I'm a fan, but it almost feels like a chore watching our offense. I still enjoy watching the defense, but man, this has been a rough season for the offensive side of the ball.
I don't feel that way towards Allen, but I definitely do towards Sheridan. I still have complete faith in Allen doing the right things. That has to mean moving on from Sheridan and Hiller this offseason, or I'll be pretty disappointed.

I can't go another year watching this offense so Sheridan better b gone. We just at scared lime fair catching every kickoff
If Sheridan isn't gone, it is going to be a long offseason. Can't imagine there will be any excitement going into next year if he's still here.

The amount of injuries this team has every damn game has been absurd and , makes me wonder if we need to fire the strength/training staff. I mean I’m not sure what our coach can do at this point. it’s not like we are Alabama yet where we have an endless supply of 5 star players to waiting to play on the bench
I mean how many players have gotten injured so far this season and are out long term. Like 12? Seems like every game we have 4 players that get injured.
I wouldn't go as far as saying Wellman should be fired, but it definitely should be the biggest emphasis this offseason. The amount of injuries we've had this year is crazy compared to the last few seasons.

Our offense is so bad that it wears our defense down. You have to try to play to win the game instead of trying not to lose. We are way to conservative and lack any creativity on offense
After tonight, we might be in the bottom 5 in the entire country in yards per play.

oh Man Allen just let Sheridan have it big time.
Hopefully he's letting Sheridan know he's the last one in the stadium who doesn't know we like to run a QB sneak on 3rd down. That has to be at least 7 or 8 times we've tried it on 3rd down the last 2 games.

After years and years of watching us never beat OSU or Michigan, I'd often find myself wondering during the games, will it happen this time? Am I finally going to see us beat them? Kind of weird to no longer have that feeling against Michigan now.
What are you talking about? We just beat them by 17 last year.
-
It seems like we've had a ton of injuries this year. I know Ballou and Rhea really emphasized different things to try to minimize injuries. I really hope that's something we focus on in the offseason. Seems like injuries have been way up compared to previous years.

And Tulsa gives the game away
Don't know what that QB was doing on 3rd down. Probably the biggest play of his life, and he starts to slide to avoid getting hit instead of powering into the endzone. Goes down inside the 1 instead of getting the easy touchdown.
-
Cincinnati fumbles and Tulsa recovers. Instant karma.
-
Tulsa just got hosed. The refs never game them the 2 or 3 yards on their 3rd down play. Completed a pass from the 6, refs discussed for targeting, and then spotted it back at the 6. Then they missed their 4th down play by less than a yard.
