Horrific call on Garzon.

Parrish is absolutely killing IU. Can’t play a lick of defense.

I disagree…. I AM tired of the holier than thou attitude we have, but I have ZERO interest in Calipari. He’s won one tournament game in four years with one of the top recruiting classes in every one of those years. And if you think Mike Woodson makes excuses and never takes accountability, Calipari is the world’s worst.

Two years in a row losing at home in the second round to a lower seed?

Apologies. I meant to quote @loviubb not your post. Sorry about that. -

MR doesn’t have the motor or the athleticism that TJD did. Comparing MR to him is a slap in the face of TJD. TJD was always a rim protector, got after it on D, and rebounded his butt off. MR does none of those things. No offense, but not even close. -

TJD’s motor, effort on the boards, and effort on D was never where MR was this past year. I don’t dislike MR the person one bit, although the constant whining about fouls drives me insane. I just don’t think he fits the modern style of basketball we should be playing. He in no way or form should be a 4, but he doesn’t rebound or protect the rim well enough (maybe an effort issue? Not sure) to play the 5. That’s my beef. It’s a conundrum that will hamper us again next year IMO. The conundrum will look a lot less damaging IF we can add 3-4 shooters to the team, but nonetheless I don’t see where he fits. -

Then we have zero shot to do anything special next year. MR is a one trick pony. If Woodson values him that much, then he truly is clueless. -

Or Indiana is a shit show right now and Arizona is winning. -

Then he really shouldn’t play much IMO. Doesn’t really fit. Give me this guy from Stanford and tell Reneau he needs to find another home. Can’t have a guy his size that doesn’t rebound, doesn’t play D, turns it over like crazy, and doesn’t shoot it well from outside of 5 ft. -
2024 SG Jack Benter Commits to Purdue
kyhoosier29 replied to Tuffhooper89's topic in Basketball Recruiting
Yeah, I know we’re free to discuss and ignore (as we should be), but this is a damn IU board and Jack Benter keeps popping up at the top of the recruiting threads. Is there a way to block an entire thread!? 😂 -

False. Best you got? Don’t give two shits about Jack Benter. You probably have 3 people on all of HSN who do. You guys should PM about him so the damn thread can be flushed like it should be. -

I actually enjoy this one! -
12 threes in the first half. 😂 If we only knew beforehand that they could shoot.

Yeah, I think people continue to ignore that the NET is more about “efficiency” numbers. We can have an almost identical record in many facets as MSU with a head to head win, but it doesn’t mean we played better basketball than MSU to get to those numbers, comparatively to the field. Didn’t somebody post not too long ago that we had been one of the luckiest teams this year? And that’s with us still being 19-13 😬. The NET’s object is to rank the most efficient, or in their words the best teams based on play, not result per se over the course of the year. Although the play typically determines the result. My guess is we don’t beat MSU on a neutral court. 🤷🏻♂️

But hey, it’s not that important to make threes if you can dominate the paint. (Where is that damn coffee emoji!)

Clif only has one son. His son is blonde haired, 8-9 yrs old. Also has a daughter who is 12-13 years old. His son probably had a buddy with him.

Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great the team appears to be united and they are sticking up for each other. You want and need that camaraderie in a team. I just think he could have said some positive things about CMW without addressing the fans in any other way than saying “thank you”.

Sure, we all could be in every aspect, and end of the day I don’t care what Leal says nor does it affect my decisions. But that doesn’t mean I can’t have an opinion on it. From his standpoint, I just don’t think the comments were necessary simply from the fact he is going to piss some people off that do have some clout and ability to make negative financial decisions for IU and maybe for him in the future. It comes off as unintelligent to a lot of people. I always go back to the comment Michael Jordan made, “Republicans buy Nikes too”. He seems to be all about his brand, so whether you think it’s crazy or not, don’t alienate people that could possibly enhance your brand.

I’m thrilled for him, but I’m in the group that didn’t think he’d excel without a decent shot. Boy was I wrong…. at least so far.
