Woodson''s buyout after 3 years he would be owed 100% of his remaining contact of 12.6 million. If fired after year 4 buyout is half of remaining contract, which would be 4.2 million. Do the math. Woodson will be back.

Someone on another board did some math that showed that the settled buyout would actually be closer to 8 million due to certain circumstances. Add to that, Dusty May's buyout drops to $1 million on March 1st. Considering that Dusty's salary would likely be a little less than the $4.5 million that Woody gets, it would all end up being close to a wash after a few years.

Compare to Ohio State, owing Holtmann 12.5 million and if they want Oats (12 million) or McDermott (3-4 million?). IU would be getting out just fine.

    Schertz's buyout is $250,000

I’m not on the fire Woodson train yet just because I hate going thru firing coaches and if we fire Woodson that will be 5 coaching changes and I’m under 40 which is just not acceptable for a blue blood program. With all that said if we do fire Woodson after this season then so be it. I will say the next coach has to be right and he has to win immediately. We cannot have the patience to be oh let’s give him such and such years to build this. There is no more time for that.

Alabama football fired 6 coaches between Bear Bryant (1983) and Nick Saban (2006).

They each had 3 years, 4 years, 7 years, 4 years, 2 years, and 4 years.

To be fair, they did wait another year. OSU was terrible last year and it sounded like a lot of fans wanted him gone, but he still got this year. They’ve been on a downhill trend since losing to the 15 seed 2021

OSU finished the year ranked #49 last year. That is like a pretty decent year for IU over the past 30 years, sadly.

I'm guessing Gunn is a practice all star, especially against our defense.   Probably swishes those 19 foot jumpers all day long.  He'll go score 18 a game somewhere lower or even benefit from the Tamar Bates effect and be the 2nd best player on a real bad team, maybe DePaul.

Banks.   Just doesn't have a comfort for the game or ball skills to play the bigger wing spot in power 6 ball.

Gunn reminds me of Cooper Neese. Crazy ability to score in high school. Indiana kid. Struggled to find PT and a groove at Butler. Transferred to Indiana State and then in his final 2 seasons finally came to form.

Kenpom projecting 3-14 the rest of the season. Ouch...might not happen, but still a bad look.

I have not lost faith in Woody, but I am sorry if we go 3-14 to end the season then it is time to move on.

  6. Rob has shot under 30% from 3 and under 70% from FT in his career. I love the kid, but that is not what we want starting as the SG.

    1.  Xavier Johnson

    2. Parker Stewart

    3. Galloway

    4. Jerome Hunter

    5. TJD

Stewart and Hunter can shoot great. Xavier is an average shooter (better than Rob). What Galloway lacks in shooting, he makes up for on the break and penetrating and slashing.

I’m not saying he’s the same player, but this recruitment of Karaban harkens me back to Matt Cross.  I remember one of the recruiting bloggers said that Archie was “obsessed” with Cross.  We will see if Archie gets on Karaban early and often.

They play in the same division too, I believe.

  8. There has been a flourishing, potential laden big man crushing it in suburban Cincinnati, Ohio for Archbishop Moeller High School all season long. It appears he is on track to become a valuable member of a prominent school’s core when the 2021 NCAA season rolls around. What are the latest developments with Logan Duncomb in regards to his recruiting process, and what kind of talent could he turn out to be?

Logan Duncomb Logan Duncomb Ohio State

    Who is Logan Duncomb

Standing at 6’9″ and weighing in at 225 lbs., Logan Duncomb is an athletic, bruising center. According to 247sports.com he is currently the 80th ranked player nationally, 14th ranked center, and 3rd ranked player for the 2021 class from the state of Ohio. Duncomb has been making waves at Archbishop Moeller high, dominating in all the areas a traditional big man should.

A 4-star blue-chip recruit, Logan runs the floor well, is a solid passer for a front court player, and plays tenacious defense. He is extraordinarily skilled on the block with his back to the basket on the offensive end of the floor. Think a pint-size version of Rik Smits or Arvydas Sabonis. Duncomb’s mid-range jump shot is still developing, but he does have that in his arsenal to use occasionally.

What does Logan Duncomb have to offer?

For a center, he exhibits an innate amount of hustle and aggressiveness chasing down loose balls and creating deflections. Logan Duncomb is a hard-nosed, rough-neck force on the court when he needs to be. He fears no man out on the floor and has been known to set cringe-worthy picks that send defenders crashing to the floor.

    Logan Duncomb Offers

He is currently considering a variety of high-profile DI programs. All of Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Indiana, Ohio State, Iowa, and Xavier are schools that interest him. Duncomb has received scholarship offers from each of those colleges, as well as Miami (OH) and Winthrop.

One of the best players in the state of Ohio for the class of 2021, Logan Duncomb is still relatively early in the recruitment process. He currently has only visited two colleges. Those two consist of Wisconsin and Indiana (both in late September of last year). The visit to Indiana was unofficial, however, while Wisconsin was an official visit.

    2018-2019 Sophomore Highlights

    Logan Duncomb Crystal Ball

Based on a recent report from Tom Kakart of Hawkeye Report, my crystal ball projects Logan Duncomb to wind up signing on the dotted line to become an Iowa Hawkeye. It could happen quickly, as soon as the early period begins this fall if both parties are on the same page. If his comments following an early-season game last year are any indication, the likelihood of him committing to Iowa is a foregone conclusion.

“I consider myself a big Iowa fan.” he said. “I watching Iowa basketball growing up with my dad. The coaches were in touch with my coach for a while, so that’s how they first started. ” Duncomb said.”He (Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery) called me up and said that he liked what he saw from me and had also been watching film of me and mentioned how I had improved. He said my style fits the play of his program and offered me a scholarship. I was very thankful for the offer.”

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the dynamic prospect. He is a talented and exciting player that will inevitably start popping up on other school’s radars. One thing’s for sure, Logan Duncomb is a star on the rise.
