  1. Hard to understand how Minn shot so badly, they were just awful.  That said, the defense caused a bunch of contested shots and created a good many of those turnovers and turned them into points. Even we were getting turnovers earlier in the year, we would throw the ball away instead of getting a good fast break look. Tonight, there were still some unexplainable decisions, but the one positive I saw was the time Galloway laid the ball back to MM for a wide open three. Earlier in the year, Galloway would have tried to force that pass to  Leal cutting down the lane. This was growth. Happy for the guys. They seemed to enjoy playing. Great to see. Still don't want to see double bigs and forcing the ball inside next year. Hope we see a new direction.

  2. Did not get to watch. Hope I can go back and see it, but just saw the statistics. Just to drive home the points we have been making all season long, we shoot 7-16 from three and 82% from the free-throw line. If we shoot our normal percentage this year of both, we lose. We hit our free throws the last two games. Something changed for the better.  Since it was a win I'll say great job guys. Happy for everyone.

What has he done wrong that is so offensive? That very same evening, his ex-fiancee was already dropping the charges, saying that she had culpability in the incident as well. The DA even said there was a lack of evidence.

The two of them are no longer together, and he doesn't have a track record of abuse or issues with alcohol.

By the facts that are known, it was a really bad argument between a couple that got a little out of hand.

Or did I miss another story somewhere?

I don't think you missed anything, and I think the people arguing against him are trying to hold him to false standard. Obviously Coach Knight did things a lot worse, stuffing opposing fans into trash cans, getting into arguments with Puerto Rican officers.

He has a point. They shot 62% overall, 42% from three, had 17 assists and won the rebounds. That probably is the best this Indiana team can play. It’s a question of defining Indiana basketball whether that’s current or in a historical context.

Wow, those are some impressive numbers. I get your point, however, and it means this to me -- there was a time when we shoot that well and we blow teams off the floor, not come from behind to win by 4 in the last two minutes. That's a big difference. Still happy for the win.

Galloway should be coming off the bench…he is an energy guy…lock down defender, instant spark plug…he plays too hard and honestly at his best in more limited minutes….love the kid but that is who he is and should be.

Agree,  Galloway should come off the bench.  I remember Coach saying that he was their best player in the preseason, but that doesn't mean he should have been filling the role Coach tried to give him. If he is your best player and he is at his best coming off the bench, then he should be your best player coming off the bench. I will go to my grave saying I wish he would have started CJ from the git-go (although I would have started him, Cupps, and X and brought MM and Galloway off the bench).

Sooooooooooo... blame the guys that teach the skills?

Again, I don't know anything, but we have a player development coach (Coach Calbert) who was here previously when we had a good shooting team. I don't know every holdover from coach Miller, but I think there are two assistants and one strength coach who have been here through seven years of particularly bad shooting at IU.. Something isn't working.

How many workouts have you seen our basketball team go through?

I don't know anything, of course, but the results don't show any improvement in shooting during his entire tenure. If he isn't helping us get better, it doesn't matter what he is doing well. Show me where his program has made us better at any basketball related skill -- rebounding, defending on the perimeter, defending the drive, shooting free throws. I realize he is not a skill instructor, but i agree that when nothing is working almost anywhere, you need to change almost everything.

It's more than just points lost/not scored. It's runs we stop, added pressure on the opponent, etc.

It's a big glaring $h!tty stat and absolutely frustrating

absolutely agree with this. When a team is making free throw after free throw, especially with a lead, it deflates an opponent. It does the same to put pressure on a team when you are coming from behind.

I won't! Not with this team. They are more of the first 30 mins then they are the last 10. Until you stop writing the AD dont reply to me. I dont feel the need for a feel good moment. We were down 18 points. A good team would have buried us. We dug out of it because OSU is worse then we are. Once I see complete change over several games from this team and staff then I'll let up but not until then.

I think I'm closer to your side than an optimist.  Great effort tonight to come back, but lets wait and see if we stay within 10 points on the road to the Boilers

    Great win

It is the first time in a long time where I saw our players engaged and showing emotion after their teammates made big plays. They didn't give up and that is very encouraging to see. The first half they looked they had quit on the coaches. Whatever happened when we got down 49-31 we need to bottle that up

You know, I thought the turning point was the technical on Malik.

I'm super pumped about this win. Glad we pulled it out.

That said, I think we win going away if Galloway isn't doing his best "Bad" Troy Williams impersonation. Seemingly handing over TOs like Halloween candy.

Don't feel especially pumped that we let a 15 point lead turn into a deficit, but I agree it wouldn't have been close had not Galloway forgotten how to play basketball. And of course he missed a few free throws in there for good measure, but so did everyone else.

He will…it’s all mental at this point, and that’s when a fresh start can really help. Not always, but usually…..especially, if the player is as talented as Gunn, and he is talented just like Bates.

I'm 67 and I will go to my grave believing that CMW should have started Gunn and brought Galloway off the bench. I think it would have given CJ a whole different perspective and confidence.

    That was just horrible call

And the the ref gave him a make up call, just like they do in the pros, and he missed both free throws -- game over.
