  1. While I can agree that bad calls can go both ways, there are, it seems to me, momentum calls that can swing a game, and I think this blown call qualifies. Instead of Ware slamming home a dunk, or at least getting two free throws, the ball was turned over to Kansas and IU was robbed of a great momentum play. Probably a great (foul) play by Harris.
  2. I haven't gone back to watch, but I thought Self switched McCullar off of Galloway. Whomever had McCullar after that didn't do enough to draw that last foul. My guess is that it would not have made a difference. The refs weren't going to call another foul on Kansas like that.
  3. Would not have been the game but for the previous makes. Just have to shoot with confidence when the game is on the line, kind of like Kansas did.
  4. Hard for me to see this team turning into a confident, poised, killer by years end. Hope I'm wrong. Think we are a year away. Mac and Ware need to come back.
  5. Just don't have the mentality yet to win a game like this against a good opponent. They missed a key free throw but we couldn't corral the rebound. Winning plays. Don't hit free throws in a four point game.
  6. Wow, that graphic says it all. Does anybody expect this to change this year ? next year ?
  7. This sounds right to me, however, I think possible transfers also had to factor in what kind of opportunity they would get to shoot even when they would get in the game.
  8. Not only did he raise his elbow, he extended it outside of his space. At the very least it should have been a flagrant one.
  9. I think Dykes mentioned this, but it seems the Auburn guards pulled up in the lane and hit every mid range jump shot over Galloway they attempted. Sure looked like a lot of push offs, but still seems as if the Auburn coaching staff saw something.
  10. My bad, I thought he was talking about heading into the season. We had a six year guard start a few games this year, if I recall.
  11. Don't know where that is coming from. I saw three McD's boys, a six year and a four year guard and thought we should be good. The guards have not been good enough, and that was certainly true today.
  12. How many times have we given up 100+ points?
  13. Absolutely. Ran the play for him and then he put two dead center
  14. Agree totally that FSU is in. If anything, the win over Louisville is better than Alabama's win because FSU had to win with a freshman QB who had barely taken a snap. What a tremendous TEAM win.
  15. I came here expecting to see everyone talking about KY losing at home to UNC Wilmington.
  16. I haven't watched a lot of Nick Saban press conferences, but I've seen enough to recognize some similarities. Same no nonsense. If you listen to Saban, everything is the process, play every play the same way, the standard is the standard.
  17. X threw the ball away when he had Gunn on a breakaway which Louisville retrieved and then hit a three at the buzzer. That is what I was referring to
  18. If you look in the game thread, I was one who was very hard on X when he turned a possible 10 point half time lead to five. Once we switched to the zone, he seemed to calm down and started making some plays.
  19. Got to give coach Woody credit. Some critics said Woody was stubborn and wouldn't change. Playing zone is a big change for a Bobby Knight trained coach.
  20. That is second time our sixth year senior, our captain, our supposed point guard couldn't execute the simple pass. Gunn had a half court lead and he couldn't hit him. That is the same play he had against UConn and he turned it over for a 3-point play that was the turning point in the game. I hope this is not the turning point in this one. That guard is now going to get hot and he will torch us the second half. And Galloway has been particularly horrible. Starting senior guards have given us nothing in two games. Really just negatives. Sorry I am so negative, but i never played organized basketball and I know how to throw a length of the court pass to lead someone with air under it and with backspin.
  21. Look, I am as frustrated as anyone, but I don't think Malik played well. He went to the rim whether he was doubled or tripled teamed. He got the offense stagnant, so when we needed some guard to step up no one could because they were iced out all game. I know its difficult to take the ball out of his hands because he is the only one scoring right now, but if you don't, it will never get better.
  22. I understand, but my thinking was this, CJ might not give you better offense with the starters than Mac, but the starters don't need as much offensive help as defensive help. CJ at least brings defensive energy and quickness to what seems to me is a less quick starting lineup. Again, what do I know.
  23. Obviously I know nothing, so take it for what is worth, but it sure seems to me that Mac would be better suited (at least right now) to playing with the second unit. He would more likely be the go-to offensive option and get more shots. He would also, hopefully, be playing a second unit defensive assignment. Who you put in to start I don't know, but CJ would be my first option.
  24. I can't remember the time or score, but there was one play that really impressed me. Cupps found himself on defense under the basket and blocked a shot, and i was thinking to myself I couldn't remember the last time I saw any older guard on the team, block someone's shot at the rim, but he just happened to be in the right place at the right time and got a piece of the ball. That to me just kind of says it all about the kid -- be in the right place at the right time and just make the play that is there to be made.
