  1. Certainly not trying to “sound the alarms” but it’s imperative we have high impact transfers this portal period. We need to be winners this off-season. As much as Cupps, Newton and Sparks could be solid additions to the program, not all three, if any, are drastically going to move the needle for next year, which leaves us where we are regarding the portal. It would be a tough pill to swallow if we had a down year next year. This program needs consistency… and in a positive way. We need high level players that fit our program and I believe Love is one of those especially with the right coaching from Woodson.
  2. Kenya Hunter may be in play for the Buffalo job.
  3. I was about say the same thing. How does anyone know if we won’t be a championship caliber team next year? I trust Woody to bring us talent to complete at a high level.
  4. Let’s not forget that transfers aren’t only the player’s decision. It can also be the coaches’s decision. Not sure how many are in the portal now but I know at least several hundred players have put their name in the portal. Of those, there’s probably 40 maybe 50 percent whose decision was made for them.
  5. As expected. We could see a lot of new faces next year.
  6. Dudes…on the bench? Outside Malik, I would say “c-ya.” We arguably had one of the worst benches in the Power 5 conference. Spend NIL $ on the portal…our current bench is certainly not going to take us where we need or want to be next year…they’re not good enough.
  7. We don't live in a utopia. Players are subject to criticism.
  8. Next year is incredibly important. We need to be consistent. A knock on Crean that was very warranted was that his teams were consistently inconsistent. One year we're at the top of the standings, the next at the bottom. I don't think Woodson allows that to happen during his coaching tenure at IU. I expect some big names this off-season to come to Bloomington.
  9. Some soul searching and serious questions need to be asked regarding Bates. This is not a knock on Bates but playing in Bloomington is not for everyone. I've thought it for some time now and question if he falls under this category. There's simply no way to sugar coat it, he's been a major disappointment and criticism is warranted. High school ranking aside, if he is a fraction of the player the coaches and his teammates talked him up to be last off-season then we're probably still playing. His lack of game awareness is staggering...not to mention his shooting is not very good as reflected in his 0/13 stat in tourney games as well as multiple 0 point game efforts...simply put, he and the bench were disappointing. I've also wondered where we are with a player like Gunn. With Bates' continued consistency of bad play, Gunn seemed like a candidate to move up in the rotation. He never did. As others have alluded to, we need to hit the portal hard. Woodson needs to be real with some players and show them the door which I think he will...I'm pretty sure most of us know of at least 2 names that likely fall under this category...maybe more. Next year is important, it's important for The Program to be consistent...especially since the 2024 class has the potential to be special. It's not out of the realm of possibility that we have practically a brand new team next year. X, Galloway and Reneau are good foundations now lets go get some studs this summer to fill out the rotation.
  10. It’s ok to call out players. Bates has been a major disappointment and questions need to be asked. Is Bloomington the right spot for him?
  11. This season was a disappointment…yes, I said it…it was a disappointment. Round of 32 loss is not a success regardless of X’s injury. TJD was a stud and enjoyed watching him play for 4 years. I hate to see him go out like this. He will be regarded as a great. Onto to the off season…Woodson needs to go all in on the transfer portal and build a team from Reneau, Galloway and X.
  12. We might be the worst rebounding team we’ve witnessed in recent memory
  13. Play hard, smart and focused basketball. Limit their guard play.
  14. IU should beat Kent State but we need to bring our A game. Kent State is no slouch. Arkansas is hit and miss. One night they look unbeatable the next very beatable.
  15. We should beat Kent State but we can’t take them lightly. I’ve seen them several times this year. They’re a tough team. We can’t be soft.
  16. This is a big reason why this team has a ceiling despite 2 first round draft picks (and a necessity to hit the portal hard before what appears to be a very strong 2024 class). Our secondary scoring/playmaking is severely lacking. I remember when we thought we had 2 starting lineups…good times. Not wanting to single out any particular role player because each one has their deficiencies…but I have to ask…Where has Galloway been the last several weeks? Also, for the love of God, someone please tell Kopp to stop passing up open 3s.
  17. Not only did Lunardi drop us to a 5…he has us playing ORU. Damn.
  18. I was certain a 4 but yesterday’s loss to Penn State on a neutral court may have slipped us to the dreaded 5/12 matchup. Not to mention we haven’t been necessarily lighting it up as of late…we’re 4-4 the last 8. Of course; still holding out hope that we’ve done enough work for the 4 seed.
  19. Not to dive too much into next year because we still have this team to root for in the NCAA’s…but you mention 3 from the transfer portal…I agree…I could even see 4. Not sure if there’s anyone on this current team (besides X and maybe Malik) that’s going to be a for sure starter for next year’s team.
  20. Very good points. Sustained success is key. 2024 looks to be a strong year potentially with recruits but where does that leave next year? I’m hopeful and optimistic Woodson brings in difference makers through the portal allowing us to continue to be a strong team next year.
