I just fired off an email to Dolson about sh**canning IU Scott.

If I wanted to know if a coach is going to get me to the NBA, I sure as heck would listen to fans on a forum before I listen to former/current players. That's just me, though.

I second this. If posters are sharing opinions, it is helpful to say so.

I don't care what all these numbers say, or don't say. I don't think that we are going to win the Big Ten title...probably top 4-5. This likely gets us in the tourney, but I don't think that we will get to the Sweet 16. Hopefully CMW will have learned enough in his first three years to address schemes and lack of high level guards needed to do anything against the top teams in the country. I still think we are a long way from "being back". I am looking at this year as another so-so year with question marks a-plenty about the future. If the numbers mean the selection committee leaves us out of the tourney, then we don't deserve to be in the tourney. We are who we think we are.

I would be more "upset" if we lost by 6 pts. To me this game wreaked of illness. No way an unranked team can hang a 42-12 run on a team with IU's talent. It just doesn't make sense that Woodson is in over his head with a bunch of low IQ, lazy ne'er-do-wells. (How often do they do well? Ne'er.) I think we will be just fine......but maybe we won't, but I still think the team was dealing with an illness today.

I haven't read too much of the post game, but wasn't there discussion in the pre-game that the team way have been hit with the flu or covid? Energy waned pretty quickly.

Sparks gives us a lot of what you want from a backup big.

Coach Cig addressed the crowd during halftime. Said he has never taken a back seat to anyone, and he ain't about to start now. Then he said, " and Purdue Sucks!!"

I don't think I have seen this fanbase so positively unified about anything, ever. Coach Cig is a program builder who has had fast results. I think he knows very well what to do as it relates to coaching in the bowl game, and everything else needed to build a winner. I just wonder if IU's history of bad football mojo will finally give way to the power of Coach's skill and will.

Having the backups playing like this puts pressure on the starters.....but CMW needs to make it so the starters know they will be giving up the minutes.

We are in a rebuild year. Unfortunately we have to rebuild from a Rd32 team. It is pretty clear that we are not going to improve on last year, which puts us at year four with CMW. It feels like we are as far away from winning a Big Ten and competing in the tourney as we have been since Crean. This year will tell us what we need to know.

We are losing because of rebounding. If we outrebound them in the 2nd half, we will win.

I understand why you don't see it. Of course, claiming that he is a horrible coach is subjective. What I outlined above is an argument for why we shouldn't continue to do the same thing every 5 years expecting different results. Maybe it's time for a different approach. It could be argued that impatient people often end up with poorer outcomes.

My belief is that continuity brings success, and that success is near impossible without continuity. I could be wrong, of course.

I think Allen should be retained. I am basing this off of the beliefs that his players love him, that he recruits pretty good talent, and that starting over just sends the program into further turmoil. The Raider owe $80m to two coaches that aren't coaching. This is why they suck. The Steelers are on their 3rd coach since 1970. Keep some continuity in the program, continue to learn and grow as a staff, maintain a clean program that graduates players.....these are things that build something good over the long term. Add to this, Coach Allen is not the reason that we are at a recruiting disadvantage to the likes of Ohio St., Michigan, Penn St., UCLA, USC, Washington, Oregon..... IU should take the money that would be spent on his buyout and go after the best coordinators. IU might benefit from an approach of trying to be known as the school that produces great offense and defense coordinators who move on to head coaching positions. Allen can be the "guy" that helps groom coaches.

We might as well not spend much on football and bank roll every penny saved into every other sport. We really can't compete in this league at a consistent enough level to justify the money spent. We could be better next year and still fall further down in the conference.
