  1. How bad is Illinois State that credits don’t transfer to Kentucky? I guess it’s like Chuck E Cheese not accepting a Little Caesars coupon
  2. The really weird stat. His junior year he shot 55.6% (all twos). His senior year, he was 53% from three, as you noted. But his overall shooting percentage fell to 47%, because he was only 43.8% from two. Even with the addition of the 3 point shot, his scoring average actually decreased from 22.5 to 22.0.
  3. The most important part of going at least 6-6 and getting a bowl invitation is an extra month of practice. A player who spends four years at a school that annually plays in bowl games will end his career with an extra season of practice versus a player who never plays in a bowl game.
  4. Trying to recall the last time that IN and KY were considered finalists for a 3 star IN kid and he committed to KY because IU didn’t offer. Oh, yeah, it’s never happened If we get Reeves, Value City Furniture will have to post guards around the couch department
  5. No I don’t detest Allen. And you make a good point. I think he is a good defensive coordinator and he clearly improved defenses every where he’s been. But I also believe the defensive schemes became more advanced under Wommack. That said, I believe Allen is more suited to be a D coordinator than a head coach. That’s true of a lot of coaches. For a variety of reasons, the program has fallen off the table since DeBoer and Wommack left. Allen has struggled with how much to be involved with the defense versus step back and be a head coach. Although on paper recruiting has improved, the past couple of seasons this team hasn’t had the impact players of a few seasons ago.
  6. When DeBoer and Wommack were here, color commentators were always pointing out how sophisticated IUs schemes were for a college team. We don’t hear that any more. Allen is a motivator, but it’s clear to me that DeBoer and Wommack were the Xs and Os guys.
  7. Surprised the bowl games wouldn’t be used as playoff games
  8. The original tweet was 5/31. The smoke reference was today
  9. Great take from a Rupp Rafters poster: “We're just throwing darts at the wall. Any wall we can find. Eat first? If this were Thanksgiving, we'd be eating at the card table in the hallway with the grandkids.”
  10. Pikiell took a dead program and made them competitive, now they're getting kneecapped by NIL. Not that I care.
  11. This is interesting: Fighting through a shoulder injury most of the season, Mulcahy struggled the last month plus of the 2022-2023 campaign. In the final 11 games of the season, he averaged just 6.5 points on just 37.5% shooting from the floor. He struggled mentally and physically, both with pressure and injury. He was less vocal, less assertive while looking unhappy and uncomfortable. With Rutgers going just 3-8 during those last 11 games, all without Mawot Mag, no player symbolized those struggles more than Mulcahy. Criticism of his play was warranted, but with the understanding that the person was going through a lot. He became a target of a portion of the fan base and took a lot of blame, some fair and some not. The idea of some that Rutgers would be better off without Mulcahy next season is ridiculous. And now with the unexpected departure of Spencer, his former roommate, he’s more important than he’s ever been. https://thescarletfaithful.com/paul-mulcahy-has-never-been-more-important-rutgers-mens-basketball/
  12. This is tongue in cheek, right? IU's record against: OSU: 12-78-5, lost 27 straight MI: 10-61 PSU: 2-24 Combined record against those three: 24-163-5. Being in the B1G East, in any given year, there was an 87% likelihood of at least three conference losses before the season began. How do you build momentum and recruit against that?
  13. Working on an NIL deal with Lululemon
  14. Probably just some random student with the same name 😂
  15. Yes, in the business world we called that re-trading an agreement. That poisons a relationship.
  16. Hilarious “Huggins said he thought “outside influences” played a big part in Tshiebwe leaving. The player said only that it was for “personal reasons” when he decided to leave at midseason.” “I think it’s the world we live in,” Huggins said on ‘The Bob Huggins Show’ after Tshiebwe announced he was going to UK.”It’s better to steal than it is to work and earn things. “It’s take the easy way out, and I think there were some people involved who saw where they could benefit, maybe profit, and worked very diligently at trying to get him out.” https://www.yoursportsedge.com/2021/01/14/bob-huggins-says-outside-influences-played-role-in-oscar-tshiebwe-transferring-to-kentucky/vaughts-views/larryvaught/
  17. The facilities and resources are much better than when Lynch was coaching, yet here we are
  18. I saw that he's eligible to grad transfer. If so, I'd say watch Maryland (Willard recruited him hard out of HS, when at SH), but I believe they are at 13 schollys. Seton Hall could also be a player here.
