  1. I have zero doubts about Dustys ability to build a competitive program. Obviously Michigan and Louisville were willing to take that gamble. Michigan will be a problem for us and I expect Dusty to get kids like Mullins and Sisley.
  2. Smh… and we are stuck with… bah… nvm. Not at all surprised.
  3. May to Louisville gaining steam on social platforms
  4. This is IU basketball! Im proud of these ladies!
  5. Might be an upgrade from one that doesn't make it at all?
  6. Colorado takes down Florida. For anyone that might have forgotten, IU didn't even make the dance. Nadda. Thats below “mediocre”. In each game there will be a loser and a winner. Making fun of the loser when you’re not even in the same race is silly.
  7. Pearl be the obvious choice. I don't see it ever happening. At this point, anyone with an unknown trajectory feels better than the current forecast.
  8. May is doing more with less compared to the resources and level of talent available to B1G schools all while we sit on the outside looking in.
  9. I am of the belief that since he has escaped being released this year, the only way he isn't the coach is if he retires. And, now that he has lowered the bar of expectations, any form of improvement next season will be considered a positive trajectory in comparison. What I fear is his inability or unwillingness to bring in high school recruits is going to haunt us. Also, he says he was brought here to win a championship and it’s clear to anyone with a pulse that absolutely will not happen under his watch.
  10. Most folks think if you’re lacking throw money at it. Meanwhile coaches at small town universities create a real fundamental foundation and get a leg up by actually developing players and evolving the strengths of their program. When the money runs out or there is a lapse in talent, your weakness gets exposed and your back to dumpster fire. Imagine IU spending loads of money buying as much talent as possible to try and win the national championship they gave away when firing a guy over phone calls and weed. Money pouring in at IU is nothing new. But a coach like Teri Moren needs very little in comparison to sustain a competitive edge. She has a culture and program established. Maybe they could just pay the fans some name image likeness funds to not boo Woodson out of town.
  11. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians. If it’s time to move on then move. Delaying when the picture is clear in this case is a continuation of failure. He has zero high school kids coming in. None. When do you all remember that as being a thing. This isn't the NBA, Mr Woodson. The portal is not the NBA draft as you’re treating it to be.
  12. -High school recruiting will suffer with any hint that a coach is gone next season. -A better staff could bring in and assemble a better team and build a foundation sooner rather than later. (Leave the program in a better position) -If it’s Pearl you seek of your top three and he wants it, why wait? He could build now plus he's not getting any younger. The opportunity might not be the same a year from now. None of it makes sense. Im not buying whats being served on that site.
  13. So age is the new topic and what was taken from my post as objectionable. Oh joy. Buckner, Thomas et al of the Woodson era have pushed him into position. Older folks. Because anyone way younger than 45 I am guessing has no idea who he is or was. Age is completely relevant when it comes to Woodson being selected as head coach. Not because of his age directly but indirectly because of his affiliation with folks in charge of same or similar age that drool over his teenage skillset. Since you brought up May, what Dusty May has accomplished as a college coach is much more proven than that of Woodson no matter the age. All while doing it with peanuts compared to what Woodson has done with IU resources. While the crown at IU may have once carried more weight, coaches like Dusty have shown it to be less relevant today by building winning programs at teeny tiny schools with zero history and minimal basketball following. Because he is a good coach who can get more with less. Woodson on the other hand needs billionaires and NBA allstars. Dusty has created a winning culture capable of beating an Arizona with kids not many were after, in a gym the size of most middle school gyms. Bruce Pearl might even be the same age as Woodson but is a proven winning college coach. In IUs case though its nostalgia. Folks of older generations trying to hang onto a thread of the RMK era. Woodson, a once Knight pupil has come to save IU from the clutches of modernism and innovation of which IU has escaped but to fail undeniably unless your an “true fan” willing to follow blindly.
  14. Just like I initially feared when the rumor about Alford being first in line was kicked around. I remember saying to one of our members in PM that I hope IU does the right thing and stays away from a nostalgic hire like Alford. Then Woodson was announced and like everyone else I was in complete shock. At least I had heard of Alford but Woodson? Wth… I guess we have forgotten what Fred Glass said when he fired Crean? Crean who hit his ceiling and wasn't going to take IU far enough quick enough. One year removed from a B1G championship. But Mike Woodson can take Archies generational talent who was already putting the team on his back and somehow get credit for the kid growing up and getting reps. Trace was a beast in high school and was gonna beast no matter who he played for and you wont convince me otherwise. Thats what generational talent does. It gets shinier with age and experience. Jalen who was brought here thanks to Hunter was so far ahead of any current IU guards it was clear as day. I remember mentioning that back then when a lot of folks was stuck on XJ. Jalen was gonna ball no matter who he played for and if it wasnt for XJs bad luck, would have not got the chance to show IU fans what he could do in year one. Again, super talented kid who was going places no matter what. Love Leal and Galloway don't get me wrong. Kids that grew up wearing candy stripes. Love that! But be real, they aren't championship caliber guards. On one hand, glad to have em back. On the other hand, we need better guards talent wise that would effectively render Leal and Galloway as bench players. If we want to be really good. Thats what its going to take. Really good guards. No offense to our older HSN members but I mean give me a break. Bring in a nearly 70 year old guy because the 70 year old crowd likes him for his jump shot while playing for IU in 1917 knowing he cant make it happen so you hire another semi retired college coach to train and oversee his operations. It was setup for failure from the beginning. I mean really, tell me what Mike Woodson has done for the program for him to be worthy of hanging on to. Tell me something he has done better than Crean who was fired for not being good enough. The longer they drag this along the angrier the fanbase is going to be and further back they set the program. And, the more disdain for Mike Woodson and anyone that supports him. ”Chill” and let Mike swing enough times he might get lucky just don't make sense to me. Train ol’ Mikey on IUs dime and hope the fans are patient. Man I just don't get it. It’s just basketball but the ignorance around the program is killing it. But, Im also near the point of giving up. It’s turning out to be a complete waste of time and energy. Hopefully thats my last rant. Yeah I probably care about the program too much.
  15. I feel for this kid. Get your head out your @ss Dolson and get this program in a better place. These kids deserve better.
  16. What more does it take? Isn't it bad enough that our one and only commit said nope and our staff has zero incoming recruits for next season? Can you imagine Archie Miller in this situation?
  17. Woodsons post game presser gave me vibes of him finding portal players the help get him over the hump. Its depressing.
  18. Think that was his way of giving the bird to the “true fans”? Odd that he was upset with the refs in this game when there have been games that were super lopsided.
  19. Starts with the staff. These kids didn't just start playing basketball. They were good players before they arrived. But they are a piece of a puzzle and the coach has to utilize them, improve them and lead them. Leadership at the top stinks and trickles down to the players leading to the dysfunctional mess we are watching
  20. I hope he announces his retirement on the way out
  21. No way Hummel knows more than Magic Mike. 2pts counts too
