  1. The difference is this was an atypical performance from the women's team. We've come to expect a lot of these problems from the men's program. The women are a lot better than what we saw last night.
  2. Trouble is, it's hard for this program to even make the tourney anymore. I'm old enough to remember our fans complaining about how awful we were in the 2000's because we missed the tournament twice. That was the last time we had 3 consecutive tournament appearances. Incredible, really.
  3. Do we need a wellness check for one of our resident Boiler fans? An hour after the game ended and he's conspicuously absent. He had plenty to say after their recent wins.
  4. I'm not saying I want Woodson gone, but it's just hard for me to believe there isn't somebody out there who could bring better basketball to this program. We didn't have to be amazing this year but there's really no good excuse for this trash.
  5. And yet high school recruits from Indiana still want to go there...it's baffling to me.
  6. Sounds like the year we had Romeo Langford.
  7. Don't forget Fairleigh Dickinson and St. Peter's. Who ever heard of those teams and where are they located?
  8. Not sure I'd call a December non-conference game "do or die" for our postseason hopes, but we could certainly do ourselves a huge favor by winning.
  9. I know people don't like to keep blaming past mistakes, but Archie Miller should have been out the door after that NIT loss to Wichita State. That season with Romeo was just such an epic disaster. Probably my least favorite IU team of all time. Miller was in over his head after that (heck, even before then) and everybody knew it. Keeping him for 2 more seasons just suffocated this program and any excitement surrounding it. The apologists kept saying "you can't fire him after 2 years because who would want to come here?!!" Gee I don't know, maybe the IU alum who wanted the job when it was open last time and the guy we ended up hiring two years too late. I'm always kind of intrigued and wondering what could have been when I imagine Woodson starting in 2019, then having a team that actually got better and trended upward during the Covid year. Maybe he doesn't get stuck playing Archie's style for so long if we hadn't given Archie so much time to ruin everything.
  10. Why are so many people so enamored with Fitzgerald? 1-8 in conference 3 of his last 4 seasons, playing in the JV division that was even weaker than usual.
  11. Does it seem like the "private schools need their own tournament" complaints have reached a fever pitch this year, or is it just me?
  12. Maybe. Right now OSU and Iowa are the only other ranked teams and we only get OSU once. Maryland started off ranked but they've gotten trounced 3 times. I guess I feel like we could have scheduled a bit harder given what we had coming back.
  13. This and Tennessee will end up being very good wins for us. I would have liked to see us have another ranked team or two in the non-con. Our December schedule looks very light.
  14. His last post before this one was when Fland picked UK over IU. Strange coincidence there.
  15. Watching us struggle to defend a team that scored 55 and 44 points in its first two games while largely looking clueless on how to run its own offense, I just found myself thinking once again that this program is hopelessly broken and I'm not sure it's ever getting fixed. It just blows my mind how we can accumulate the talent we do and look so bad at what really should be a pretty simple game. Woodson is on record saying he didn't come here to rebuild. So why are we this bad? He's had over 2 years to get this thing rolling and right now we look just like we did 2 years ago.
  16. Bluffton falls at FW Luers 15-7. This might have been the least impressive Luers team I've seen make it this far.
  17. We haven't had a thunderstorm since September 26th, and have had only 2 days with thunder since August 17th. Kind of depressing to think I may have to wait until next spring to hear thunder again.
  18. I like how in 3 years Allen went from going for 2 in OT because he was sick and tired of being close to playing for a tie on the road.
  19. He followed that up by missing a 27 yarder early in the second half.
  20. I saw some random prognosticator on social media back in August that had Purdue going 9-3 and finishing second in the West. Wish I could remember who it was.
  21. No Iowa game is ever complete without a safety.
  22. Probably the two best teams in the West, and it's 7-6 late in the third. The final East vs. West Big Ten championship looks to be another snooze fest.
